  1. Icon jackets do have an expiration date. It's on the receipt, whatever date the jacket was purchased, it's no longer good from this date on and should be disposed of. Srsly, Icon is flashy crap on a stick.
  2. Do a crazedlist search for the whole US for your bike & parts, chances are good they'll try in the next few weeks or even months to offload parts or the whole bikes that way. Searching locally won't do much good, 9 times out of 10 the bike will leave the state or be stripped for parts which are moved via ebay, craigslist or elsewhere. Sorry it happened to ya. This is reason #1 why I'll never live in burb again. Can't even see my house from the road, and you have to get past a big iron gate to even drive up to my place.
  3. +1 He's done 2 tickets for me and was first rate in both instances. Both times I beat the fine & court costs.
  4. Yup. A nice used Ninja 250 is a great bike to learn on, safe and VERY capable, and when you sell it you'll lose next to nothing. What's not to like?
  5. Someone with no insurance.
  6. Sorry to hear about your wreck, hopefully you heal well and fast. FWIW, 20 years ago I had an accident very much like yours, but in mine the tankslapper became a high-side and launched me into a dirt berm at 50mph. Separated shoulder, crushed knee, concussion, you name it. Took me 19 years to get back on a bike, and it forever changed how and why I ride, but don't let it ruin your outlook on bikes....just let it change a little. Sometimes life tells us, in no uncertain terms, that we're not indestructible and it's time for us to slow down. I'm not BS'ing when I say this, I'm having more fun and enjoying going slow and hitting the back roads on my Strom than I ever did ripping up the turns on sportbikes. Once you realize how much is really at stake, it's kind of nice to use a bike for a whole dirfferent thing and experience cycling from a relaxation standpoint rather than exhilaration.
  7. I'll be at the Pony, but I have to cage it cause I'm taking my kiddo to Cowlumbus for some things she wants.....I'm gonna ride later but it's me and wifey and I ride cautious with her so I think we'll go solo, but look forward to meeting up with everyone.
  8. My filthy, beat up, scratched TTRtwofiddy feels like a retarded redneck cousin of those spiffy Yammies. But, I'll bet it's had a more eventful life. I'm quite sure of it, as I've left parts of it all over the country!
  9. MSR fuel bottle, I carry them all the time. In fact, I have two tool tubes under my panniers to hold them.
  10. I was planning on being at the Pony Saturday morning, I'll keep an eye out for you guys!
  11. Well, how about giving me back an accurate post count so I don't have to figure out how to answer a private message in time? The site meltdown made me start brand new, I'm not a troll and I'm not spamming anyone. I wanted to answer the guy in context, with his quote so he'd know what was going on, and I was just a few posts away from the 50 needed. Didn't think it was that big of a fucking deal, given that the previous many pages of this thread is people posting Ron Jeremy pictures which eat up a hell of a lot more of your bandwidth than me counting down.
  12. Thanks, that's awesome. Trying really hard to get in touch with Brian at DTM before I go on a business trip and I have to play this fucking game. Glad I'm amusing you.
  13. You got me. Totally out of the closet. Can I have your number?
  14. Three and I'm home free...
  15. Well, actually it looks like only 6 more times.
  16. Apparently I need to post more.
  17. I'll PM Brian and see if that's an option....and let ya know.
  18. Lizard, you haven't replied to my PM. If you're not interested that's cool just wanna know either way so I can get on with whatever I'm going to do.
  19. I just put everything in the lockable luggage. Riding a hideous Vstrom with panniers and a top box has its advantages, it also deters thieves because no on steals anything so ugly.
  20. Actually, I don't think I need the dyno if what I'm reading is correct. The Vstrom's of my year have a very predictable "hole" in the programming. From what I've read it's down to a science what values need changed and where. Almost every one with my year of bike running stock ECM/Pipes has ended up with the same adjustment give or take a few tenths of a percent....we're talking hundreds of bikes, all over the world and it's usually within a tenth of a percent either way. There's even a "loaner" Yosh that makes it around, so it's been pretty sussed out. According to the experts, it needs 1.5% on the A side and 5% on the B side (low).
  21. Welcome! I'm near Newark too.
  22. Supposedly on the DL1k there's a 20 minute reset, if you pull the cable for more than that you reset the ECM, so if you wanna keep Yosh tune you just have to beat that window.
