If I had to park my bikes for the whole winter, I wouldn't own them....simply a matter of math. Nothing that costs that much should be put away that long. Of course, if you're insane and like to ride in the cold you have to adjust your riding style a bit, and your choice of bikes.

You can search ebay's completed listings too, gives a good idea what a "deal" on a similar model is, as a "low point" and hope to get about 10% more to a motivated seller. Beyond that, you're probably going to be hanging onto it in my experience. What they really sell for is the value, it's just that some people have a hard time getting over that figure.

Thunder Valley is the place for long distance in Ohio. I've shot my .338 Lapua & .50's out there, and it's awesome. Can't recommend a 'smith, I do my own work....probably forced myself to learn out of frustration at the lack of good smiths in the area. Gunsmiths are notoriously slow and/or expensive, and if they're good both.

Don't you guys have stators on your bikes? $15 thermal balaclava $25 for heated grips. $140 for a Tourmaster heated jacket liner. $20 for heated socks (I have the battery powered variety) Put those under a good jacket, wear a good set of coldgear layers under your pants, and you can ride down to 20 degrees, easy. Small price to pay for not surrendering your hobby for the whole damn winter, IMHO. I rode Saturday when it was 24 degrees, and I was toasty and warm. Did about 160 miles around Coshocton. Always love the crazy looks I get, but I'm not uncomfortable and I'm having fun.

Nice jacket, every bit of bright helps ya but as noted don't count on it. Heck, people still pull out in front of emergency vehicles that are lighted, sirens, and hi-viz! I have a hi-viz Kilamanjaro jacket, and a Teknic too. I don't ride for style points.

I see a lot of interest in offroading & MX, but anyone into dual sport & adventure style riding? I used to be big into offroad, but bad knees & 20 years of other abuse have curtailed my flinging a 2-smoke up gnarly hills, so I'm sort of getting into exploring and hitting the back roads and forgotten trails. Bought a DRZ this year and where the Vstrom won't go the DRZ will. Enjoying it more than I thought I would, and it's nice discovering parts of Ohio that few people on two-wheels ever see. Anyone else into this kind of thing around the c-bus area? I'm always up for doing some riding, if so!
