Whatever odd chain of system failures that allowed me to make it thru medic school and become paid to shove needles and tubes into people without their consent

    You forgot Thin Mints

Don't buy it. It's for 8 year olds or Chinese people.

You could give it to @MidgetTodd for Christmas. Sounds like it's his size. Just fill it with Thin Mints.

The guy I got it from did many upgrades: 2 Brothers Carbon Pipe, K&N, Triumph Off Road Fuel Map, Upgraded Mosfet Regulator/Rectifier, Heated Grips, Re-Valved/Rebuilt Rear Shock, Custom Shim Stack in Front Forks, Powerbronze Hugger, Speedo Healer, Upgraded Sprag Clutch, Double Bubble Windscreen, Givi TankLoc Tank Bag.

The folks and shocks are set for 185 and I need them up 35-40 to about 220. Haven't looked into that yet.

Sounds like you got a nice bike. Any information on what the upgraded sprag clutch is would be greatly appreciated. I believe mine may be on the way out.

  4. Congrats! My '06 is the same color and as I have stated many times before, I absolutely love the bike. What exhaust does yours have? I can see it is not stock.  Depending on your size you may want to look at upgrading the springs in the forks. I did that and it completely changed to bike from a handling and feel perspective. I had a custom seat made this year after finally having enough of the terrible factory seat. Next up is to replace the rear shock. If you are going to do your own work I highly recommend purchasing Dealertool which is the software package to allow you to do diagnostics.

Clearly Mike is awesome.  No need to say that again, but damn that guy gets the deals!  Thanks man!

Agreed. The new sprockets and chain he sent are on the bike so I get to ride again.

rims were drilled backwards. Guy that laced and trued them didn't realize that and (I guess) assumed the bike was right hand drive.

Have new wheel now, and they made good on the mistake (outside of the lost vacation time I guess)

Wow! After everything you had to go through for then to make them in the first place. At least they made it right to some degree.

washed Merry to prepare for valve adjustment. Next week 5 day RX3 Rally in WV

mounted new (used) Renthal CR highs and 2" risers on Sunny. Preparing to take her to friend's place to begin teardown/rework.

Did they ever figure out what was wrong with your wheels? Apologies if you had discussed it previously.

Bubba has my list. I go back in time too. One stood out, the news as a kid was constant about fall out shelters and how to "duck and cover". Probably why my generation believes in survival tactics. But the shocker was the Cuban missile crisis, Bay of Pigs and U.S. naval blockade of Cuba. Not everyone realizes just how serious that was. It was the brink of war. As a kid I watched a constant flow of aircraft moving South, rail lines full of armor and artillery, and roads full of tactical convoys. It started with all the B-47s deploying South from Rickenbacker AFB immediately. I watched them go. It never ended, till the situation calmed down. Other than that, the JFK assassination, the invasions of Eastern European nations by the Soviet Union, and the First Man on the Moon. Stepping on the Moon really was an "all of Mankind" thing.

My wife's uncle was on the heavy cruiser Newport News that was a part of the blockade. The stories that he has told us about whole event are amazing and terrifying. The movie Thirteen Days is about the Cuban missile crisis and is one of my favorites.
