  1. if that isn't effective PsyOps, I don't know what is.
  2. that day, when it was nearly 40degrees, i slid my bike down my icy drive way, and had a quick ride around the block. my neighbors looked at me like was insane, as i almost dropped my bike 4-5 just getting down the driveway. then they pretended like they couldn't see me when i rode by, with a idiot grin on my face. i tell you, if idiots could smile like i did that day, they would also have lock jaw.
  3. when chuck norris licks balls, they turn into stars. ninja stars.
  4. what the OP is proposing is little different than what any riding group does: ride their favorite back roads with someone who knows the roads and has experience riding them. specifically STATING that he will help "teach" new riders, I agree, was a mistake. That infers responsibility. If you really want to do this, just form a riding group. don't advertise it as a "riding school" and don't say you'll be teaching anyone. all you'll be doing is leading rides since you know the roads, and the people riding with you must ride their own ride, at their pace... they just happen to have the benefit of riding with someone who knows the roads. wait, there's a thread with breasts in it?
  5. nice to meet you guys next time, i promise i'll stick around and get just as drunk and flagrantly homosexual as the rest of you.
  6. that is a a really great idea. I'd love to join in, but i'm a bit far away (NE ohio... basically, the farthest place from the nati). I guess I'll just have to keep watching the rapidly disappearing backs of CORE guys, and hope they don't vanish quite as quickly as last year. Have fun!
  7. yeah i bought it from Mike middle of last year. very nice guy. he had the bike posted up on sbn and a couple other places.
  8. I have a Teknic Speedstar perforated leather jacket for sale that has been used twice on casual rides. Never been down, and it is in perfect condition. It's a size US40/Euro50 (I think it could also be a size "small"), blue and white. It is perforated all over, so it is perfect for those who want a jacket that breathes (and it does flow air quite well) but protects better than summer weight mesh. It has all the padding (elbows, shoulders, back, arms, etc), has a somewhat handy liner for when it gets a bit chilly at night, and an aero hump for that quasimoto look you've always wanted. It also has a neoprene-like soft and stretchy material around the neck and wrists and it is quite comfy. It also has external carbon fiber shoulder armor. I bought it about a year or two ago for summer riding, but ended up being a pansy and wearing my leather suit everywhere. Not sure what these go for... I can't even find them online anymore. I'll try to take pics if my camera will cooperate. I think $200 is a fair price (I believe I paid about $300 or so when it was new and it is still in perfect condition). I'll cover priority shipping to your location, assuming you are in the continental US. I didn't want to steal pics, so here is a link to an old thread on some forum where another guy was selling his speedstar jacket: http://www.702sportbikes.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11997&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
  9. wow. that's quite the deal if it really is in good riding condition. i'll forward this to my friend.

    Gear review

i broke this little plastic piece on my puma (I was abusing it badly... it would never have broken if i wasnt such a nub) and as soon as I emailed puma about buying a replacement piece, they sent me one no charge. they didn't ask if it was in warranty or anything, they just asked for my address, what color, and voila, replacement piece. that said, it was some small insignificant piece... if we're talking toe slider or soemthing, who knows how much those are. thought i'd offer my input.
  11. maaaaaaaaaaaan i could've bought this suit instead of the one I got, and not have a bisected wang everytime i stand up straight. oh well, timing is everything i guess.

    Tires

so, would corsa 3's be ok for a first time track rider in the novice group at mid ohio? i'm hoping ok, cause that's the only set i have left after i run through the current tires i have. lol
  13. the smart move here would've been to just say, "the joke was inappropriate; I have spoken with the salesman regarding the situation, and we hope you will give us another chance to treat you the way you should be treated" and THEN explain about all the pricing/margin information and why you cannot offer further discounts. This statement is in complete agreement with everything you've stated above, would have cost you nothing, had the potential to earn good PR with a good clear response, and possibly saved a botched sale. but i guess hindsight is 20/20. or maybe not, since the response thus far by management has been a mediocre semi-apology at best, and at the worst, a weak attempt at defensive rationalizing, full of excuses for failure at customer service.
  14. i might be interested i havent gone skiing since high school.

    Why do you ride?

lawl. it is an unfortunate fact of life on the internets.
  16. surely, someone of the scarlet and grey variety went to the media section and kicked his dirty little teeth in as soon as it was heard.
  17. old combat style probably won't cut it for track days... but i suppose it should be ok for casual riding. i'd recommend proper riding boots if you're doing "spirited" riding on some good back roads, however. Hell, depending on your boot size, stg has teknic speedstars (made of kangaroo, incidentally). there are very few available, though.
  18. can't, wasted all my money on leathers... don't have money left for .40sw i'll just go dump a brick of .22's on his ass. although, i managed to fix my previously useless, dangerous visor ratcheting system on my OGK helmet that kept popping loose on that one ride. so i guess i just saved myself from buying a shark RSR2. whoopdeefuckingdoo, i guess. every bit counts, i say.
  19. just don't go calling masturbation "premeditated abortion of a potential fetus", and we can all be friends.

    Why do you ride?

because for those 10 seconds or less... i'm free. lawl i love riding because there are few things in life that make you feel so very much alive as riding on 556 (or insert your current favorite road here) with no traffic ahead. on the other hand, it also reminds me how quickly i could die on 536 (or insert your favorite, road that scares you to death here).
  21. what's your budget on a suit? also, if you haven't already, try to budget for a pair of decent gloves and boots.
  22. haha no worries pauly. I had this suit budgeted and paid for since july of 2008 when i decided my alpinestar p-1 2pc suit wasn't doing the job. it would be nice if i did get a refund. i'll go visit my accountant with a baseball bat and see if i can't get any results.
  23. my Held Suzuka 1pc suit with knox race back protector is on it's way. i probably won't get a refund, but i'll just hope things go well, and that I can afford it. lol i am a true american.
