A lot of them have cleared and clear titles as well meaning they are already good to go on the street. I looked into all that already. But thanks for the heads up either way.

It does seem that they do, but I don't know enough about bikes to thoroughly look one over, nor do I personally know anyone that knows a great deal about them. I'd rather spend the extra cash and buy locally from a guy who has papers showing the bike is in excellent mechanical condition.

I'm going to stray away from them then. I don't want crappy customer service. Found a nice 650s that's local, a bit more than I wanted to spend but it's only another months worth of work more than I wanted to spend. Thanks.

Don't know if you are still looking but I just ordered a Bell Star for 300. MSRP on them is 550. It had better comfort than all the other helmets I tried on, including the Scorpion.

Anyone have any experience with them? I'm looking into getting my first bike and they have quite a few nice sv650s for decent prices, but I don't want to go to a shop trying to get rid of crap bikes for cheap.

Already have it on my toolbar for the registration day! I'm already on top of that. Yeah, I went and just got the booklet on Tue and am going to take the written test tomorrow.

Thanks for those links. I'm going to be taking my test for my permit tomorrow I think. Is it necessary to read up on the bike packet, or is it mostly common sense like the one for getting your temps for your car? I read the online packet on the MSF site to get an idea of what may be asked on the test.

Yeah, I've been looking on Cycle Search, hopefully by the beginning of March I'll be looking at bikes. Want to get through the MSF before I buy one so I know what to look for when I purchase one. I also want to test it out myself before purchase.

Thanks, that is what I've been hearing a lot lately. Now I just need to find out what they averagely sell for so I have a price I can aim to save for.

I was thinking GSXR 600, but have been steered toward GSF500, or SV650. I'm now finding out which of these would be better for my first year. I hope to get a 600 after my first season of riding. I want to stay above the ground. I would not mind owning a cruiser, but I see that coming later in life, or as a second bike sometime down the road. And thank you for the warm welcome everyone!

Hey, whats up Ohio Riders. I'm a new guy from Columbus, Blacklick to be exact. My name is Ryan, I'm 18 years old and I'm looking into getting started riding come this spring. Found this forum and I thought it would be a good place to lurk to get some of my questions answered and become more knowledgeable about the sport and activity of riding bikes.
