  1. Sorry for the late reply... been busy!

Anyway, yeah my NSR use to be a NSR50, I took the 50cc two stroke motor out and put a XR100 4 stroke in there, bored out with a BBR120 kit and aftermarket cam, it has a few other mods done to it but yeah... it is a fun bike for sure!

We race on the Wilson track at BeaveRun... if you go to my website, you can see a few onboard videos of the track when I had my old 65cc two stroke motor in the bike.

http://www.teamquazzymoto.com/ Check out the "NEWS" section and see pic's of the motor conversion I did last summer... I think there are a few videos of it running on there as well. I need to update the website this weekend... its been a while!!!

    My bike... Number 4

    very nice!

  2. I can't believe nobody's commented on your bike pix.....You got some very cool ones there!! Especially the one with the canyon/desert in the background, & the other with the reflection of the bike in the building glass thumb.gif The graffiti ones are kinda cool too, but almost distracting to the bikes. Ditto what Schmuck said about the 599.....I've always thought those were cool bikes.

    thanks, i try :D

Did you say how soon you're getting here?

should be sometime around the first of April (hopefully dodging most of my first OH winter :D )

  3. well, not knowing anything about the place, i can't really say about the commute... i just don't know. looking at a map, Avon and Westlake don't look too far, but that goes back to not knowing the area.

i'm sure i'll have more questions as april gets closer, so i might get back to ya.. thanks!

  4. What kind of atmosphere are you looking for? Closer to cleveland, more country, what?

Oberlin is...quaint. It's a middle-class college town (maybe even toward the upper middle), but it's country - flat country. The more west you go, to more country it gets until you hit Toledo.

Lakefront is in Vermillion / Lorain, but Lorain is pretty ghetto, as is Elyria. Certain areas anyway - each town has it's crappy areas and nice® areas.

For riding though, you're kinda screwed.... all the good stuff is south (Coshocton / Mohican area).

If you have specific questions on specific parts of town - I'll do my best to give an opinion - I've only lived here for 5 years.

    ehh, i don't mind the country :D.

i know this is bassackwards, but i'd rather live in a decent area, and have to go a little ways to find good riding than live in a crappy area closer to the good riding spots.

so stay away from lakefront, vermillion, lorain, and elyria?

  5. Oberlin... about 10 miles west of me.

Welcome. We'll get some rides going this summer. Myself, InyaAzz, RVTPilot, Shittygsxr (sometimes), and r1Crusher are all really close to the Oberlin area.

    Love the Interceptor.

cool... any suggestions of places to look to live (and places to steer clear of)??

  6. Welcome! I love that Yamaha WR250x! I seen one at the track at BeaveRun running supermoto there! That thing was flying around the track!

You should take it to BeaveRun (about 1hr from Cleveland) and run it on the track! I race a NSR there all the time.

ahh, i'm interested... what kind of track is beaverun? we have a gocart track in tucson that was converted to supermoto that's really nice, but these things aren't suited to any kind of high speed stuff... it'll do about 95, but it likes 30-50mph stuff better.

    i'm guessing your NSR is a 250?

  7. What's up everybody? My name is Chris, and I recently took a job that will be relocating me to Cleveland from sunny, warm Tucson, AZ, sometime around the first of April. My girlfriend also joined this site (hence the post title) yesterday, and her name is Colleen. We both belonged to a similar website back in Tucson, so it's nice to see that there is one for Ohio.

So with that out of the way, let's get to what's important... Does the Cleveland area have any good roads to ride? How about bike shops to get misc. things done (tire mounting, minor work etc.)?

Also, since I have never been to Cleveland, and don't know the area, if anyone wants to give me some pointers on good places to start looking for housing (i'm going to be working in the Oberlin area) and what places to steer clear of, that would be great :D

Anyway, I currently ride a Yamaha supermoto, it is my 4th bike. I started off with a 2006 Honda 599, then had a 2006 Honda VFR800, then a 2007 Kawasaki ZX6r (which I at times miss very much :(). And Colleen rides a 2001 Yamaha R6.
