I run distilled + wetter all summer ( with excellent cooling performance) , but I drain my cooling systen in the fall, so I can yank my radiator, soak it in simple green and get the 2/3 pound of rehydrated bug carcasses out of it. It makes a difference come next summer. Removing the radiator also facilitates checking the tourque on the exhaust header fasteners.
An H2 was the first street bike I ever rode. My buddy's dad had this old mouse eaten bike in the garage and we got it running and went for a ride! I was barely 15 and I thought I was gonna die! I loved it.
I mounted up a set of Tomahawks for my cheap ass buddy and they were so stiff it took three of us to get 'em on the rim. He came back in four days and we took them off and put some BS BT004 r/t's he found pretty cheap. Don't run re-mans
IMPORTANT NOTE. Once you flush, fill, etc. make sure you idle the bike completely up to temp then let cool to "burp" the system of air. Then keep an eye on your coolant level for a few rides.
Keep it. In addition to the storage advice thus far. Put some fogging oil in the cylinders. Lube the shit outta everything you can (lube is good), chain, pivot points, cables and let it sit.
Welcome fellow Mustang. You can't go wrong with an SV650. Plenty of torque, parts, ideas, following, etc. I have a Mustang GT (slightly modified) a ZX10R and an SV650. Get out there on TWO WHEELS you won't ever see life the same way again!
Hey, I joined in FEB and fell off the planet for a while. I live out in the sticks SE of Enon and ride an '05 ZX10R. I work 24 on and 48 off so I ride during the weekdays some, so if you are around in the day time let's ride. I try and do 3-5 track days a year and I do some bike painting as a hobby. I have a motorcycle tire machine and balancer also so if your in a bind I can help you out. That's it, I'm glad to be a part of Ohio Riders
