  1. I did miss type the front was 29.5 NOT 27.5 The front is .8 PSI below Michelins reccomendation, and the rear is spot on. Although I do tend to fly by the seat of my pants I generally take set up type stuff seriously I just can't type worth a damn. As also reccomended by Michelin your hot PSI should only be 1-4 PSI over cold.
  2. As requested by some, here is my feedback on the Michelin Power One. As you all are aware I am not the fastest guy out there( or even the 10th or 11th), but I am also far from the slowest, so take the following information with that in mind. I used warmers for the first session, and when I came in for a 20+ minute break, the rest of the time the tires stayed more than hot enough w/o. The grip was awesome. I was able to drag a knee in the keyhole the first lap. Feedback was the best I have felt. The bike felt most remarkable under braking. I had the rear off the ground trying to avoid someone elses disaster, and the bike felt "stable." These 190/55 are a bit taller than the Pilot Power in the same size but after a lap or two I hardly noticed. My last two 30 minute sessions were my best of the day (mid 1'40"s)[i use a calendar instead of a lap timer] and the tires never got greasy, wear was even and less than expected. pressures hot 26R 27.5 F If I had the money I'd buy another set for spares today and that's saying something 'cuz I'm a cheap ass.
  3. Anyone know what happened to Spies last Sunday? Some sort of mechanical problem put him out in the opening laps.
  4. Here's an FYI/ Invite. A few of us are riding @ Barber MSP July 11 and 12. Other than being hotter than hell it should be a great time. There are still openings, so bust out the credit card and go a little deeper in debt in the pursuit of speed/ happiness.
  5. :idhitit:MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Muscle control gooooood
  6. You can drink cheap beer, or watch low budget porn, but never ever skimp on safety equipment. Buy the best you can truly afford.
  7. Setting SAG is a must starting point. When you attempt to do this and you have to crank your preload to the stops it will verify that you need heavier springs.Do not screw with your compression and rebound settings until you have SAG sorted out, then get some advice on the matter.) Preload can not and will not change spring rate it is impossible. It will only change the point at which the spring begins to move possibly causing chatter issues etc. Watch Dave Moss, read some stuff from Thermos man.... there is a ton of good information out there if you are unsure of which of us to listen to.
  8. Welcome Here is a link to the straight stuff on motorcycle license requirements. http://www.motorcycle.ohio.gov/faq.htm I am going to start teaching the basic course this summer. I also know of an EX500 that would suit you, PM me for details.
  9. WELCOME. I'm not too far from you, and I ride almost every day.
  10. It's all good. All the worries and bullshit will fade away as you approach turn 1. It will be nice to finaly put faces with the "names" except Lizard, who does'nt already know that guy!
  11. Thanks brother. I don't get the late start either.
  12. According to Patty from STT " You can enter pit lane AFTER The Mid-Ohio School driving program completes its on track activities for the day. Please do not enter pit lane until all driving activities are completed for the day as cars will be entering and exiting pit lane often. This will be at approximately 4:45PM. GARAGE RENTAL: Not Available" I am hoping to get down to the pit wall for power, because I was told that there would not be garages available due to the cars. What is the deal at the gate not letting people in early? This happened to me once last year, but all the times previous it was no prpoblem to come in early.
  13. I will be there around 1300. I hope to get to pit lane for power. I haven't met you, so I will be in a black mustang, and my buddy hauling an orange trailer with the bikes. green zx10 and a red triumph 675
  14. Amazing! I can only play the radio, so i am always amazed at musical talent.
  15. White looks the best. Good luck keepin' the rear reasonably clean though.
  16. Who's going to the Twilight LED @ Mid-Ohio Thursday. The weather is supposed to be great.
  17. Whenever man just let me know. It takes me about an hour to set up my paint booth.
  18. I am always painting something for someone. Depending on where you're at I can help you paint your stuff. PM me and we can set something up if you like.
  19. Someone can "threaten your life," if they have a rock in thier hand. So take care of business and work out the details later. In this day and age of touchy feely bullshit and don't offend some douchebag you've never met, thank all that is good you can still own, carry and, if necessary, use a firearm. If I have pants on I am armed period, or a gun is in reach. I am out cutting the grass with a holster and my trusty SIG at my side. Stay vigil, and ride hard life is short.
  20. There are kits out there that just etch the inside of the tank, and come with a coating. It would save you a paint job, and for what you'd have in a kit you could have a spare, or sell the tank and put some coin in your pocket. http://www.kbs-coatings.com/KBS-Cycle-Tank-Sealer-Kit_p_31.html
