Haven't rode, but drove some of Columbia River pass from Portland, OR to the Pacific. Scenery was excellent, roads were nice and twisty (and recently paved), just an overall good drive. Really wish I had rented a moto.

Which is why, IMO, a police report should be filed. If he wants to be a dumbass and not look where the car is going, then he should have that on his record for a while. If the cop wants to cite him for failure to control or whatever that's fine, but the accident itself will be on his record as well. When I went down in Newark, even though I wasn't cited, the accident is still on my record.

I recall seeing a piece somewhere that had pretty good evidence that if we had to do it all over again as a civilization, we would still gravitate to gold as a metal of value over anything else. Between the fact that it's not radioactive, can be worked and shaped with rudimentary tools, can/could be found without too much effort, and that we have a predisposition for shiny things, every time it comes back to gold.
