  1. Consult is free. My g/f had it done a few months ago and loves it.

I made the mistake of researching this and the more I read the more it's a little scary. The ultimate Lasik-biased site (against): http://www.lasikcomplications.com/

But, really, my vision is bad enough to where even if it wasn't corrected to 20/20 (20/40 maybe), it'd still be a major improvement. The only issue is right now my contacts/glasses correct it to 20/15... once you do Lasik, it throws a wrench into "correcting the laser correction" already.

Why bother if you still have to wear glasses or lenses??? I've went for consultations every few years as the technology and science improves. I'm still not eligible as my cornea is too thin. They said they could "improve" my vision but I would still have to wear lenses. I just don't see the point.

  2. i was headed northbound on 257 the other day and right at the intersection of glick road a damn escalade made a left hand turn in front of me. to make things worse... after the chick saw me, she f'ing stopped in the middle of the intersection!! left just enough room for me to swerve between her ass end and the center median. oh and what the hell is the reason for all these cages driving 40-45 in a 55 zone and feeling like they need to come to a complete stop on the few curves in the road!!!!!

Hmmm... 1987 Hurricane. I had one of the first ones off the line. Black and red. My favorite bike.

  3. Yeah, I've been getting stiffed a lot this year. I'm used to it from cruiser guys, but I still wave anyway just in case they don't have their assless chaps on too tight. But even sport bikes have been douching it up this year, it's pretty lame.

Actually there was an editorial in one of the bike mags in which the author expressed his dismay that while riding in Europe no one returned his "wave". He was told by a group of Europan riders it wasn't cool as it signified you were not paying full attention to your riding etc. So it is not done in Europe.

I was out and about today and did not get one wave. I now wave if someone waves at me otherwaise I don't bother. I get lots of weird looks, grins etc. because I live in a county of H-D's and I stand out in full gear.

  4. Actually all my helmets are the same size ( large). This one seems a little roomier. Though When I changed the cheek pads it fit a little better. It definitely is not too small.

  5. I won't bother to go into my background, though if you scan for my name on USPTO.gov you'll get some idea. This post is not an invitation to debate alternative therapies. Despite what some physicians would have you believe, there is clinical evidence suggesting viability for tumor treatment. You can find many articles in reputable science and medical journals.

I am posting a link for your review. Just something to think about now that it appears you may have fewer options.

My prayers will be with your family.

  6. Well

Just picked up a new lid. A Bell Star Ace of Spades. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet but of my three helemts it is easily the better one. really light, tons of ventlation and attention to detail. Great deal on Ebay.. only $199 for a helmet that retails for up to $538 or so when first introduced and still lists for $300 or more at most shops. Got the tinted shield as well. Anyone else have any experience with this helmet?

  7. My biggest gripe about the RC51 (besides it being ugly as sin), is the over-the-bar upper fairing stay. I don't like those at all. It was a late 90's early 2000's design thing that NEVER appealed to me. Not just the RC, but a lot of Japanese bikes designed in that era.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the way they look and especially sound but they are a bit heavy compared to my current bike. Still would like to have one.

  8. So far so good! NO jams. No feed issues. Some of these problems were with earlier models. When I bought mine there was a line of people waiting to get one. It is small but then that is why I bought it. You can conceal it anywhere. Though I agree with you the hand feel is not what I prefer.

In regards to sights..Not sure about that one. It has sights thought not adjustable. However, like you said these guns are meant for close quarters and in most situations, you generally don't have time to site. (I'm sure everyone will jump in here.)

Most "self-defense" situations with a mobile attacker you will only have enough time to pull and shoot. In regards to the Walther.. I went online and heard they are not reliable and have quality control issues.

The fact both guns have somewhat shakey reputations and yet the fact we both love them goes to show you can't believe everything you hear. It would be nice if people could go to a sight and give feedback on the guns like on Amazon..

It would probably give a clearer picture.
