    Misc...

  3. this totally just made my day.
  4. I have done a test ride on the S before I bought my k1200s and it is amazing. i dont think you would go wrong with either. set up a demo ride on them and see what you think. BMW +1
  5. i got the same on my previous bike, spencer was great to deal with and the turn around was fast. dont be discouraged at first, it takes several hundred miles to break in...once it is broken in you will love it! i loved it on my ninja.
  6. i saw that, but that doesnt mean they will not try to screw ya or be dicks to deal with in the process:dunno:
  7. anyone know who would be a better suggestion to work with, Motohio or Ohio Motorcycle in columbus?
  8. Thanks RSV for your input and support. After checking the insurance rates for me on the streetfighter...wow. ill keep ya'll updated on what i decide and your help is appreciated.
  9. Jrmm i havent made up my mind yet actually. hell i have no idea what to do, what i do know is that is one hell of a list RSV thanks! i hate making decisions sometimes, but when i do pull the trigger on something it is going to be grand.
  10. Well jrmm the Ducati is what I have always wanted and I would like to think that I can do most of the upkeep maintenance for the bike. I want the naked bike because i love the new styling of the SF....the M1100 is growing on me now too. I really would like a liter size bike and the ergos of the nakeds as opposed the supersports. I like doing the twisties but I would like to take extended trips to West Va, PA, and maybe a ride to Washington D.C. those would be the extent of my longer trips, and they do not occur very often, i usually just ride around mohican area and south to coshocton and hocking. I have concerns with A. the wind, B. on the M1100 the smaller gas tank for short/mid range riding. What others would you all suggest if against the SF/M1100 because of the upkeep and wind. My first bike was a Suz Bandit and I did notice on the highway the wind knockin the bike around but I also thought that was due to my lack of experience? And i LOVE the Twin on sportbikes as opposed to the 4s so that is a big thing for me too --- hope this helps and hope for good suggestions!
  11. so you guys with Duc experience, the MSRP...is that THE price or do they deal at all on them? like for a 2009 SF or M1100??
  12. i thought about not having to finance a bike but hey...i want and need to upgrade now. lol
  13. Thanks Dubguy, I do like to take longer road trips dont really know how bad the wind/no fairing would be for that. I have sat on one and the ergos seemed more comfortable than the 1098. It also looks like id have room for my sport bags, not sure tho, but would need some room for some clothes lol
  14. thanks for all of your responses! I am still debating, it is so tempting but for me this will be a huge upgrade and even Dubguy you say this wouldnt be your primary bike, why you say that? just curious. the naked superbike has really grown on me. i was debating on that or the new monster but the looks of the Duc SF just really caught all of my attention. The tuono i have looked into but feel like it looks like an alien, with exhausts from the '90s, i wish they would redesign it because i would like to jump on the aprilia! Any suggestions for test rides?
  15. I have been looking at the Duc Streetfighter now for awhile, I want to upgrade and this has just captured my every thought. I have a nice tax return coming back and wanted to use it for an upgrade, is the SF worth 15k???
  16. this thread is the very reason i have pretty much stopped coming to this forum, cause no matter what anyone says you will always have your dumb-asses that post stupid shit like this. the public is going to believe whatever they want to believe and that goes with bullshit statistics like the aforementioned graphic. so you know what not ftp - fu. ok ive said my peace.
  17. +1 - he is great, i remember seeing him about 4 years ago at a dive comedy place in dayton some random night. he was still in his hooded sweatshirt over his head days and absolutely hilarious
  18. im game really anytime, im only 50 minutes from columbus and frequently go down there. i put 32 rounds through it yesterday to adjust my glass and it was bitter sweet painful yet blissful haha. im game to shoot anytime!
  19. looks like you have a great set up there to get started! i recently took the plunge myself! my man cave isnt as organized as yours or id take pics! haha. i am mainly reloading .338 and .223 now. i recently picked up thousands of primers for small rifle, large rifle, and large rifle mag, at the medina gun show, just in case i couldnt find any for awhile haha. good luck!!! let me know how u like it, i love it so far, great stress relief! and there is something rewarding with killing something with the bullet you put together.

    Wtb- .308

What would you recommend then to be competitive, what cal, gun, scope, etc on a budget of about 1500. i have all of the stuff i need for reloading except the die, and other components of whatever cal i will be using, but that isnt that big of a deal. i am familiar with trigger control, hand positioning, and breathing tech. i am the most familiar with trigger control- i shoot frequently and i have had very good instructors at my dept.

    Wtb- .308

Ok i guess i understated the quantity of info that is needed for this discussion haha. ok, i am looking to do something like the nra high power rifle, 200-300, 500-600. I have never shot long range before. i did not want to invest a ton of money into it in case i well...suck or dont like it that well. i thought the .308 would be a good starting point. and building at this point doesnt sound cost efficient to me even though i would like that, and it would prolly benefit me in the long run cause i am also a lefty and hate working a righty bolt haha. it seems like i would love it but never sure until i try it. i do have a lot of reloading equip and currently reload 223 and 338 win mag. i havent really thought about which type i want to- i know i dont want to do benchrest though. a lt of my pd shoots it as well but i figured i dont want to bug him all of the time and gather my own info on my own about the competitions and rifles and such. he uses a .260 ish haha round and absolutely loves it. i think he finished top 10 at the nra nationals at Perry this summer? anyways, just some thought, i appreciate the help and feedback!!
