Look, my ticket ledger is 50 tickets per book. I have had my current book since November of 08. About 30 % of my tickets are traffic crash tickets (unavoidable) about 25 % are speed, (residents want to see us doing traffic enforcement) the rest are driving under suspension, OVI, etc... You can do the match, but you can see, I do not write many tickets.

Speed limits are in fact artifically low on highways. They were set low in the 70's during the gas crisis and have never come back up. I for one would like to see them go up to triples in one or two lanes in areas outside of the city if the infrastructure improved. I am a cop, but I am an American, father a husband, a Christian, a son, a brother a biker first, long before I am a cop. I will never; however, tarnish or betray the badge. 'Nough said

I have maybe written a handful of "attitude" tickets in 15 years. I do not like to do it. I should have my mind made up before it gets to that. Your attitude has no impact on how my day is going to turn out, so inturn, it is not going to have an impact on your citation. The trick is, don't take it personal. Now, show your boobs or start crying, you are much more likely to get a citation. Don't want to be accused that I looked at your chest in return for a warning. So, purposeful boobs or crotch shot = ticket. See, he's writing a ticket because they showed boobs! Good Officer! LOL

Depends on who the officer is. I usually tell people the same thing. "Look, you are outside of your privledges on your temps. Now, I suggests you wait until someone with an endosement gets here to get your bike. Now I'm going to leave now and becuase I do not have time to sit with you. Understand?" I then leave. If it is safe to leave them where they are, I go. It is up to them what they do. You could be ticketed for it. I do not.

To the one who said more or less it is shame on the police for pulling over the law abiding bikers who actually pull over, WTF! Those that run are the douche bags, not the officers. When your bike gets stolen, be happy officers stop bikes for odd reasons other than speed. Sometime bike theives aren't speeding.

Monies from citations go into general funds, not into departmental funds. So, error on your part. As for lights on or off, there is NO Ohio Revised Code and NO Municipal Ordinace that says you have to have any lights on when running stationary radar. There may be a departmental policy that dicatates that, but no laws are in place, currenlty, for that. We all have jobs to do. Part, and I mean just a small part of my job, is traffic enforcement. The rest is the fun part.
