  1. I like that explanation, well said.

Anyways, to the OP, we're all fucked. No common sense, no personal responsibility, no selfless service, no one is "wrong", can't get your feelings hurt, get a trophy just for trying, affirmative action, reverse racism, person A can't do something because it might hurt person B's feelings, but we'll go overboard and make person B get all the special treatment and who gives a fuck about person A anymore, we're teaching our kids to be victims, it's never the kid's fault but the mean teacher cuz MY kid would never do such a thing, the dollar is nearly worthless but at it's peak of corruption, we cater to the stupid and lazy, welfare pays for drugs but don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by making the recipient take responsibility, it's the cop's fault they got a ticket for breaking the law, it's okay to burn one book but not another book, it's okay for one person to use a racial slur but not for okay for another person to use the same slur, it's AEP's fault our power went out and we're too worried about ME instead of how that worker is doing 16 hours a day and came from another state to HELP you, the burger is supposed to be "made your way" so let's go off the deep end when they screw it up, IF someone asks a stranger "how are you doing?", they really don't care how your day went, 6000 friends on facebook is more important than 3 really good friends, it's okay for their son to fight for our country but my son should never do it, kid's can't play outside until the lights come on, all while out of their parent's sight and without a cell phone, 12 year olds are sending thousands of texts a month, 10 year olds are smoking, drinking, getting pregnant but let's coddle them, it's not their fault, we can't spank our kids or yell at them in public because someone will call children services, minorities want to be treated the same and get the same benefits but want special treatment when they can't hack it, we automatically assume the worst in someone before even getting to know them or the entire story, schools attempted to allow kids to buy better grades, why can't we all just be Americans instead of African American, Irish American, Mexican American, why must you be defined as a person by your sexual orientation, where did "treat others as you want to be treated" go ...............?????????? yeah. We're creating a country based that only cares about "ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME" Maybe one day we'll decide to wake up and change for the better.

    Amen!

  2. I've had mine for a few years and like it allot. About the only negative thing I can say about it is it gets real hot, real fast on warm days if you're not moving. Never had any real issues with it. Plenty of power, plenty of speed, and handles great for as heavy as it is. Sad to say I will be selling it sometime in the near future after a few more payments. At my age with a lower back fusion, 3 shoulder surgeries, and recently a new hip, I am looking for something with a more "standard" riding position. The "sport" riding position is just a little too cramped for me lately.

  3. no. its silly that we trust the police to police themselves... covering for your buddy is priority one. and if you're honest and you don't cover your buddys fuckups, you're labeled a "rat" or a "snitch" and probably lose your job.

There ya go...one of the many reasons I don't like nor trust the police. The badge they wear is nothing but a license to lie...and when it's your word against theirs, guess who will win.

  4. Good looking bike, glad you're liking it. I'll have to stop by and check it out sometime. Been kicking around the idea of finding my last bike, something like a Concours 1400, ST1300, something like that, but the more I look at the bigger touring bikes the more I like my VFR. Guess I just need to ride one and see how they feel.

  5. Ok, I'll play. Here's a pic of my tire from my Dragon trip last year. Noticed every time I pulled over I smelled burnt rubber and realized it was my tires. Have never melted tires before, probably doing it wrong :) Been trying to work on body position so as to not have to lean so far into corners. Second pic is me trying to keep up with the guy on the Wing. He is a Precision Riding Instructor and rides that Wing better than most people I know with sport bikes, really made my first trip to the Dragon an unforgettable one, and showed me I have allot to learn. Had and old GS750 way back that I would have to hang off of to corner, but for some reason it doesn't come as naturally with the VFR...maybe getting old

  6. Fully loaded, including a 12-pack I bought along the way, for a week stay at the Gap last year. 450 miles of rain to get there, and still raining for my first trip down the Dragon. Rain covers worked for the Tank and Tail bags, everything in the side bags were in huge Zip-Loc bags. The $100 Tourmaster rain suit was awesome...can't say the same for the Dry-star gloves. After 450 miles, the only things that were wet were my hands.

  7. I have a Taurus PT1911 and love it. I can make one hole with 8 rounds at 10 yrds. Although when it came to carry, I thought it WAY too heavy. Did allot of research and ended up buying a Glock 36, sub-compact .45acp. Cannot beat the weight, durability, and accuracy of the Glock, only weighs 29oz empty. Although not quite as accurate as the 1911, still more than adequate for CCW.

  8. Another welcome from Newark...from your blog, sounds like you bought your Honda from the dealership in Heath. Bought three bikes from them in the last few years, and I know exactly what you're saying. When I bought my '06 Shadow Spirit new a few years ago, I got a laugh from the salesman explaining how to adjust my idle with the dipstick. And nobody at the dealership knew the owner's manual was under the left side cover so they ordered me a new one. Need to look up that valve adjustment thing, wasn't aware it was due at 4000...I just past 8000.

  9. A friend of mine has one...nice looking pistol but not accurate at all. Course, they were meant for close range and with 000 buckshot they do a nice job under 10 yrds. At that range I think I would go for a much smaller auto.

  10. I've changed companies three times in the last two years. Seems everytime I call a different company for a quote it gets cheaper. I switched to Allstate last December and am now paying $246 a year for full coverage on both bikes, '06 Shadow and a '08 Interceptor. $500 ded on the Shadow and $1000 ded on the Interceptor with what they call their "Silver Protection Package".
