The promo Code is just as I write it here. WadeGraham

The W & G upper case, no space.

    Now you have it.

Pass it on to any friends. It's good, it's not a secret, there is no rule against using it..

I thought I had something special, but now I remember searching for the promo code last year. Thanks for sharing!

I may be interested Schap. I am going to that show or Detroit. Thanks

At this point, I'll probably go to the Detroit show on Saturday. I'll PM you a code later this week...hmmm, maybe we can use both codes.

  2. ohhhhhh, I misread! I wasn't expecting it off ticket price.

I was thinking "3$ off a bike... that sucks!"

I'll take one please if you can pm it to me

    PM sent.

The online price is $12. http://www.motorcycleshows.com/Cleveland

    Adult: 1-day $12 (online advance) • 1-day $13.50 (online general admission) • 1-day $15 (box office)

Purchase tickets online in advance and save $3 off the box office price! Save with $12 online only tickets

  3. I've got 25 to give away also. I'm only planning to use 3 or 4. If you're in the Cincy/Dayton area and need one, send me a PM and I'll do what I can to get you one.

At a minimum, I can PM you the discount code to use when buying your ticket online!

  4. Is it crazy to think that you can just ride to the race the day of the race?

I've not been to the race, but would like to experience it. Living in Cincinnati, I make the trip to Indy a few times a year, so I don't see why you can't just make a "day trip" out of it. Has any one just gone for the day?

  5. Lurkers rejoice. The list is growing!

swingset brings up a good point: What defines a great road?

In my opinion, I'm interested in identifying roads and routes that are at least 10 miles long and have a decent number of curves. I'm not necessarily interested in "scenic" roads, but I've noticed that the "technical" roads tend to also be rather scenic.

To swingset's point, is the road/route fun? If yes, then I think it belongs on the list.

    Side note...

I'm trying to figure out the best way to document these roads. I started a Google Map, but the maps on motorcycleroads.us are pretty good. So, my new plan is to film the roads in 2010 and link to the road on another site if it's already mapped. But that is just my plan as of today. It'll likely change. :)

  6. How about that? Good roads do exist!

These links will help me plan for next season. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I found this map of Colorado's mountain passes that a MC club challenges members to ride. The "50 Pass" challenge is to ride (you guessed it) 50 passes. When complete, you get your wings (it's a Victoria MC club).

Granted, Ohio doesn't have any mountain passes (at least that I know of). Do we even have "50 Roads" that Ohio riders should try to ride at some point?

If we can identify 50 Roads, then maybe Ohio Riders could organize a similar challenge. Thoughts? (Maybe I'm dreaming, because Ohio's roads can never compare to Colorado's roads.)

adamgh81 and others posted some interesting ones here: http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=29301...some of the roads mentioned in the above post include (EDIT: List updated as new roads/routes added to this thread...):

More? If you know of any, post the road with start and end points. As I get time, I'll map them and add links to the maps (I don't have much time...).

  8. That'd probably be the minimum for each day with several days in the 750 mile range. It just has to be done this way inorder to cover the entire 5,000 miles in 7-10 days.

I haven't worked out a day by day trip itinerary yet, but will do soon. Then you can see what days we'll be doing long miles on.

Yep, after submitting my previous post I did the math. I did just over 600 one day on a trip to Florida a couple years ago. 750 would be a solid day.

I'll watch for the day-by-day itinerary.

  9. I was just looking at the miles to Denver this morning. Good timing.

I see that you're passing through Cedar Rapids and Des Moines. I've got family in those towns. My cousin owns 4 bars in Des Moines. :) And, Billings, MT! That's where I was born, and I've wanted to get back.

Maybe I missed it, but how many miles a day do you plan to ride? I think my limit is 500-600.

    I'm interested in tagging along.

  10. Good reminder about the deer.

I rode to work today and Monday (I was surprised to see that it was 37 degrees that morning...but my frozen body agreed!). Next week (November!) is looking good.

What's on my winter upgrade list? Heated grips. That way, I can start my spring rides earlier.

  11. ..."Did you ride in today." No i didnt ride in i just wear all my riding gear in my car also dipshit!

I love getting that question and giving them the same response.

...maybe I will start wearing all of my gear when I drive. That might help me get through the winter while my bike waits for spring.

  12. I thought the season was going to be over due to weather, but I'm going to commute the rest of the week!

Maybe I'll hit 5000 miles this year after all. I know for some, that's probably not a lot, but it beats the ~4500 miles I rode in 2008...and that included riding to Florida and back.

  13. Did you see the weather....

you guys' have warm brass balls.

Ah, they'll be fine. I made it to work this morning. And tomorrow is looking pretty good also. Nothing like a low-40's ride to wake you up in the morning!

  14. Just got back. Road Blue Rock to Harrison on my way to the store and back. On the way back, I passed a couple Gixxers stuck behind a Harley. Poor guys.

We'll see how things look for next weekend...
