  1. I'm really excited to get out there. It's a 4 year controlled tour, so I don't have to worry about getting deployed again. I was actually planning on getting out of the Air Force when I got back from my deployment this spring, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to live out there and get some really neat training and job experience. The thought is, if we really like it we'll stay. If not, it's probably back to Columbus. It'll be weird being more than a day's drive from home. The only other time I've been that (effectively, like requiring a plane ride) far away was when I was stationed in California, but that was only 7 months. It'll be an adjustment, but I think it will be good for us and I hope my boys (idk about the 1 year old just yet haha) will enjoy it.
  2. Was thinking cap+roof rack for all that. We'll be in Aurora, near or on Buckley. I don't know if I'd be trying to do anything that extreme off-road. Yeah. Tacoma was my initial thought. But I've read they're more cramped inside than the Colorado. I'll have to go drive both of them honestly.
  3. No no hahaha not in it. Packing it up and taking it up into the mountains and camping in a tent. Maybe some light trail riding, very light.
  4. Some light towing. Camping with our kids and dogs. Trips to home Depot and such. I like the way the short bed looks better, but I wouldn't be opposed to long bed. I'll be honest I don't know much about diesel at all. Other than the fact that it's more expensive. Like I said, I can get a brand new V6 4x4 Z71 out here for right at 29-30k, and that's very appealing.
  5. I don't hate them. But the wife does. Let me do some research, I didn't even realize they were out yet. Edit: quick autotrader search shows them at ~44k, I can get a z71 Colorado out here for 29k sooo...
  6. Want a smaller truck rather than a full-size. Colorado seems like the best value for the money. I know Frontiers are the cheapest, but that interior is terribad. Tacomas are more expensive and looks like less rear space (have 2 kids, both under 5 at the moment, but still a consideration). And Rangers don't really have rebates yet. Only issues I've seen with the Colorado are transmission, and that seems hit or miss.
  7. Howdy strangers! I'm gearing up to move from DC, out to Colorado in a couple of months. Got a 4 year controlled tour assignment I couldn't pass up. The wife thinks I need something bigger than my Focus, and I've had a couple recent issues with it that the dealership can't seem to figure out. So I'm looking at getting a Chevy Colorado. I really just want crew cab, V6, and 4x4. Everything else is whatever. I'd prefer new, which brings me to my question (knowing there are a few GM mechanic types here), are the 8-speed automatics as bad as some people say? I know that the internet can be a bit of an echo chamber, and you're going to hear the angry people speak up more. Some people I've seen say that with the new TSB out to change the fluid, it's fine. Others say to avoid the 8-speed altogether. Does anyone here have input?

Best wishes! Hoping for a good update soon!
  9. I haven't tried it with my PSVR yet, but I'm really excited about the VR missions in Ace Combat 7. The game without VR is amazing. I'm just hoping I don't throw up everywhere.
  10. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2019/01/101777/tate-martell-considered-transfer-before-the-2018-season-attorney-says-coaching-turnover-played-a-major-role#comments Apparently Tathan wanted to transfer last year. Seemingly because he knew he wouldn't beat out prolific passwer, Dewayne Haskins. Which in his mind qualifies him for a hardship transfer? I personally think athletes should be able to transfer at their own will, same as how coaches can take a job wherever/whenever they want. But I also think his reasoning for it is complete bullshit.
  11. Tathan to Miami. He'll fit in perfectly with the douchey atmosphere there.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I still would. But she was definitely more attractive before the work.
  13. Lost my shit when I saw his name was Tathan. Add in the fact that his sister looks like the Joker now...the parents failed their kids at every step.
  14. My very first thought when I saw her. I hope not, though. I can live with 11-1 losing to some random team as long as we curb stomp TTUN.
  15. Anyone know if there's ANY truth at all to the Urban Meyer rumors floating around? Hard to get a beat on it from the Middle-East lol.
  16. Wouldn't be surprised if he just sits out the rest of the year, why risk it for 2-3 games? I'd love to see him come back.
  17. Direct quote from the OSU investigative findings: “neither Coach Meyer nor Athletic Director Smith violated any policy, rules, law or contractual obligation in connection with the alleged domestic abuse claims against Zach Smith.” So yeah, Urban's a manager and Gene is his manager and they did nothing wrong, except they did? It screams "PC/hey look we did something" bullshit because Drake wanted to save face for the 2018 societal nanny state. And it's evident from Urban's remarks that it was Drake, not the board.
  18. Gene told Urban about the 2015 incident. His boss told him, and then didn't do anything. I fail to see how this is Urban's fault. Gene Smith should be fired if anything.
  19. Seriously...what in the weird fuck is going on with the Board of Trustees and Drake?
  20. Check out @11W’s Tweet: Interdasting....

  22. It really looks like this is how it might play out. Urban coaches for another year or two, takes over the AD spot, Day or Grinch move up to HC.
