  1. I would never pull over for an unmarked car. Ever.

If I really felt as if I did something wrong I would ride/drive to the nearest police station to verify who is trying to pull me over.

Anybody can install red and blue strobes on a car........

I'm absolutely with you, and that has happened to us before. Again I can only speak for my experiences, but when that has happened in our city the Detective will turn off his emergency lights and call a marked patrol unit to make the stop with him.

  2. There are alot of unmarked cruisers in ohio. they have to have a marked patrol actually pull you over, and they can join at the scene..

ORC 4549.13 Marking and equipment for motor vehicle used by traffic enforcement officers.

Any motor vehicle used by a member of the state highway patrol or by any other peace officer, while said officer is on duty for the exclusive or main purpose of enforcing the motor vehicle or traffic laws of this state, provided the offense is punishable as a misdemeanor, shall be marked in some distinctive manner or color and shall be equipped with, but need not necessarily have in operation at all times, at least one flashing, oscillating, or rotating colored light mounted outside on top of the vehicle. The superintendent of the state highway patrol shall specify what constitutes such a distinctive marking or color for the state highway patrol.

ousley99 your not reading the ORC right... exclusive or main purpose of enforcing the motor vehicle or traffic laws.... Our Detectives have unmarked Ford Expeditions and Tahoes and they stop cars all day long without us helping. And if your still looking for the parking light law it doesen't exist... Just like us its probably just a policy that your department has.

Key words: "exclusive or main purpose" is to enforce motor vehicle or traffic laws. This is the only law that relates to traffic enforcement in Ohio. Use of lights is a safety measure to keep officers from being hit, not to mention a long standing tradition. At my agency we have a policy that requires us to have some type of lights on, its in place for OUR SAFETY.

  4. OfcMav and I were planning to go down in July or August sometime. We were going to trailer our bikes down. I'm sure I could get my hands on a big enough trailer for our two plus two more if anyone would be intereasted.

Start throwing dates around and lets get something going. I should be open to any date as I'm pretty sure I'll be laid off in the next few weeks.

  5. I had an 01 Bandit 600 before I bought my CBR. I really liked it, kinda sporty, but not too much for a beginning rider. I sold mike for $2000 and it had like 50,000 miles on it, so yours seems reasonably priced.

    Good Luck on the sale!

... Pics of my old Bandit...

  6. Alright do we wanna take back roads to QSL from Knockouts or do we wanna take the highway. Ill leave it up to you all. Take a poll!

OfcMav and I are going to be interstating it the whole way from Mansfield so it would be nice to have a leisurely stroll over + everyone on permits can do the ride.... but I really don't have a preferance.... plus what say do I have anyway, I'm new - lol.

  7. ...or you could cut off their heads.

This seems to be the best solution to me... Good thing its just a lease and you get to give it back, although I would feel bad for the next owner - I'm sure they won't put that on the sale sticker, lol.
