  1. I went to wally world today and picked up their last two 100 ct boxes of 9 mm winchester. They said they haven't been getting much in lately and only got a case today and it sold out within a couple hours. It was looking like ammo was coming back in pretty good there for a while now its slowed down again :( I will say I see .223 and .40 everywhere... but no 9 mm or .45.

  2. Where did you do this? This is something anyone can take, or job related?

Anyone can take this, in fact a lot of their courses are directed towards the armed citizen. It's at Tactical Defense Institute. Here's a link to their website...

    http://www.tdiohio.com/

You can do levels 1-3 in 3 days (Fri-Sun) 9-5 type thing for $450. Its well worth it and if you don't have your CCW, levels 1 and 2 will provide you with the necessary requirements to get that as well. I know you can get your CCW for MUCH cheaper but these classes cover a LOT more than just your basic CCW course. I think next year I'm going to try and go do levels 3-6 and maybe a tactical rifle course or shotgun course as well.

  3. As far as bird shot goes... I give you one 78 year old Harry Whittington.

He was shot in the face with birdshot by Dick Cheney and still survived.

With all this gun talk, I remembered that I forgot to update my original TDI post a few weeks ago. I went and took courses 2 (over again) and level 3 for the first time. With all this talk about home defense... level 3 was awesome because they teach you firing from cover, slicing the pie in rooms, and you go through live fire houses engaging multiple targets. Definitely worth checking out!

  4. I never go to any OR events so I'm sure my suggestion will bear no weight... BUT almost every year I've gone to Dave and Buster's for New Years Eve. Its actually a pretty sweet time and you can get dinner, drinks and game deals for reasonable prices usually.

  5. there's nothing wrong with being worried about legal implications if you are a CCW holder. That being said, find a new lawyer. Secondly you can get umbrella coverage through your insurance if you're ever in a "self defense" situation and then are sued by the assailants family. This will provide you with the money to get you through a civil trial. Thirdly, if you have the mindset in a gun fight that you just want to injure him just enough to stop him... you have no business carrying a gun. Because you're just going to end up dead. If you find yourself without the mentality to go into a gun fight and be committed till the end, i.e. grouping rounds in your attackers chest until he can no longer function... you will be seriously harmed or injured. Legally you're only allowed to use deadly force if you feel you or someone else's life faces serious bodily harm or death, you also have to have duty to evade and match force with equal force. So there is no malicious intent, only self defense present. It would be like a prosecutor arguing you had malicious intent for using a .45 vs a .22. You can look at many incidents of shootings and you will find several people have made the mistake of shooting in the leg or an appendage and it didn't stop the assailant and they ended up dead or seriously injured. There's also been documented cases of assailants being shot 10 times or more before being incapacitated. If you think one or two frangible rounds is going to get it done, you just might not be prepared. If your life is depending on it... why wouldn't you want to carry the best round? I carry quality hollow points for the same reason I don't carry a "hi point" gun for self defense. I want to have the best chance possible in defending my life. If you wouldn't wear a $30 fulmer helmet when you go to the track with motorcycle... why would you carry crap ammo? Sorry for my soap box rant there... But I'll leave you with some of the best advice I ever heard from a retired LEO.

The worst mistake you can make is thinking that you can rationalize with a criminal, that they have the same mindset you do. You do that you you might just end up dead.

  6. I agree 100%. I know a lot of cops and none of them are dicks. There are assholes in every profession. Just because your mom fucked the cable guy doesn't mean all cablemen fucked your mom.

I don't know... I had a neighbor in college and poor little kid, I'm pretty sure his mom had fucked every cable guy...

and mailman, and UPS driver, pool boy... etc etc...

  7. I think the healthcare companies are trying to pull a bigger profit before Obama starts giving their services away for "free" and puts them out of business. My rates went up a few dollars too and I wasn't happy about it, but I can't help but think this whole universal healthcare mess has created a sense of urgency for them to try and reap more profits. Either way we're getting fucked.

And Justin, just in case you forgot... free market capitalism means no government interference. So maybe if that gubment let us go across state lines and purchase insurance it would allow the free market to decrease prices through increased competition. Instead of raising them through increased regulation.

  8. whatsup with every organization named "ama" taking a dive for political correctness!?

Good find Casper, I'm gonna pass this along to other people on ohio forums for cars as well. I don't think anyone disagrees that street racing should be illegal but way too much ambiguity in this bill.

  9. Maybe I'm "over thinking" this one... but could it be do to the fact Tiger is the highest paid athlete in the world? And he's worked very hard for years protecting his "brand" and managing his privacy to continue to be marketable. I personally don't care if he bangs half of manhattan. But when a story breaks about the richest and one of the most famous athletes of our time banging multiple chicks on the side... don't wonder why the media runs with it...

  10. That's clever, but in case you didn't read the rest of my post...I said it would be wierd when I'm actually face to face with y'all. There are plenty of other boobs on this forum and on the internet in general. You want them, go look elsewhere for them...sorry :(

i was just kidding, boobs are only a google search away. Or I guess I could ask my wife... but I've seen hers... ALOT so its always exciting to see a new pair.
