  1. beat that $4000 and not by a dollar. somebody has got to keep the bike going from racer's edge where they'll just screw a buyer over on their lot.
  2. man, that's a bite. Sucks you have to get rid of it, and taking a hit on it. If I didn't already have one, I'd surely consider it. Great looking bike. I really hope you can find somebody that wants it instead of sending it out to racer's edge to get screwed.
  3. Charleston, SC or Virginia Beach? Never been to either, but heard good things especially about Charleston.
  4. Let me tell you what...Montreal might be the best vacation you've ever been on. AWESOME city with a lot to do. Be sure to check out some late night/early morning food spots. Bars are open later up there. Also, if you see gravy cheese fries at a restaurant-get them. they sound horrible, but are good.
  5. good luck with the sale. I was just telling somebody the other day I didn't know if my next one would be a Triumph based on how hard is to get parts, accessories, and work done on them in Cincinnati, but I may have changed my mind seeing this. hopefully some day you'll find another.
  6. hilarious story. I wanted to laugh my ass off, but then coworkers would come over and know why I'm not working. your story NEEDS to be submitted to some sort of magazine. They'll feel bad for you, and you'll win some cool stuff. Sidenote: Keep her for a while. She's gotta feel horrible for what happened, but besides that seems like a keeper for now.
  7. Yea, hopefully we can get a decent amount of people to do this. Typically charity rides are a lot of cruisers right? It would be cool to see a nice size group of our sportbike riders do it too.
  8. Some of you may already know about this.... On Saturday, August 29th there is a benefit ride called Hero's Ride. It benefits local armed servicemen who have passed away in action overseas. It is a $20 registration fee prior to the event & first 300 to sign up get a free t-shirt and pin. The ride starts at Village Green Park in Fairfield, off Hamilton Ave. with prayer @ 12:45 and ride at 1:00pm. I've never done anything like this yet and it seems to be a great charity. Found out about today at work. My company is having an employee cookout sponsored by our clients...yada yada yada...and saw the flyer. Anybody interested in doing this? Go to the website for more info. http://herosride.com/index.htm
  9. Just a tidbit... If any of you wear glasses or contacts, ask your eye doctor to write you up a "prescription" saying it's necessary for you to have dark tinted windows because your eyes are overly sensitive to light. I had that done about 10 years ago. I actually did have sensitive eyes though from a surgery. I can't recall if I ever had to use it, but it was there just in case.
  10. Not sure if Icon = Fail....my Icon gloves have held up quite nice, and it seems a lot of people like their Icon helmets. But I doubt they enjoy paying $400 for their top 'o line models. That is why I stick under $200
  11. Yea, they were definitely disco'd for the failure. Seems all Alliance SSR's were disco'd, not just the speedfreak. At least Kneedraggers is cool about it. They are going to just even exchange either an HJC or Scorpion(both higher cost) at nothing additional to me besides like $8 shipping. Now just to decide which one!
  12. At the beginning of May I bought myself a new Icon Helmet from Kneedraggers.com - It's yellow Alliance SSR Speedfreak. Anyways, I've used it for just over a month, and yesterday the chin vent decided to break on me. You can still open and close it, but a screw/clip holding that plastic housing cracked. I called Kneedraggers.com and asked them if I should handle a defective helmet with them or Icon, and they told me that helmets have been discontinued, and this part breaking is common. What??? The model just came out Spring of 2009. They are going to take it back and give me a credit on a different lid. So...if you have one, or know somebody that has one, call the place you got it from because it will only be a matter of time before yours breaks too.
  13. I sure as hell am glad I'm not from up that way. Maybe a nice idea to go to him with a little .44 magnum shoved up his nose and then see if he wants to give your 'Busa back right away. That would be a way to persuade somebody. Honesty is the best policy...if you can't fix the bike because of financials, don't screw everyone else-be honest about it. what dumbshits.
  14. I don't know where Greenville is, but welcome anyways!
  15. agreed, good work on the email. I wonder if they actually believe you about being a "regular listener" :-)
  16. Welcome Twirps. There are quite a few of us from Cincinnati. I actually just had my first ride & met some of the guys last week. Good guys, and the ones I met live in northern Cincinnati area I believe.
  17. yea, it was nice meeting all you, and thanks for hosting us Luke. Sorry I couldn't stay longer. Thanks for being patient with me on the ride. I just don't go as fast around those turns. I know the triumph can do it....I just have to get myself to do it now. Many thanks again to you and the Mrs.
  18. likewise. catch you all then!
  19. Not sure why it won't let me send you another PM. It says I can only send 1 every 720 minutes?? WTF??? Anyways, I'll be there friday. No need to send me address to your place as long as some in the ride go straight to your place.

  20. fair enough. I'll stop by after the ride for a bit. Can't stay too long though...The lady wants us to go out with some friends that night drinkin. Trust me, I'm not worried about sketchiness. We all have AT LEAST one friend like that!
  21. Welcome, and good choice on the switch.
  22. I would like to meet up with you guys for my first ride with the Cincinnati group. I've read the posts about the cookout...seems fun, but I'd feel a little out of place showing up to Luke's place when I haven't even met you all. Let me know what time, etc for the ride and I'll be there.
  23. I hope they do something down here in SW Ohio. I would definitely do it. I received an organ(cornea) when I was 4 1/2 or so, and whenever I'm asked if I am, I proudly say ABSOLUTELY. Seems like a great cause, and I hope there is some good representation from OR at any events this summer.
