I might be able to go. Besides that I want to hear you 996

Ahhh my leg! And my friends feet! I want to ride that bike!
-
Anyone? Beuller?
-
Well that doesn't sound pleasant Anyone ridden SR 78 from Nelsonville to the state line?
-
I'd like to ride some nice roads. I commute at least 20 miles of crappy Dayton roads every day. I'm just looking to go have some fun on my bike with some friends. I don't really like the idea of being in a hurry or just trying get something accomplished. Besides that I am great at missing turns and generally just being a bad navigator. Combine that with a bad memory and you've got a solid hold on last place. If it was a third anniversary curvy road ride I'd definitely be down.
-
Why don't you like 555 and not to be retarded but what does sheep mean? The three year anniversary picture hunt doesn't sound like very much fun. I'd rather be riding somewhere....
-
Hmmm...sensible jap bike or flakey Itialian hotness....ahh just get it. You sound like you've got the money to keep it going.
-
I have been on some of the country roads a little east of town. Some of them were ok but I'm hoping for more out of SR 555. I'd take you up on your offer for Sunday but we have church until 12ish.
-
None of us have ever made the trip to SR 555 before so it should be fun or at least better that 675! I've never ridden in the coshocton area but that sounds interesting.

Me and three of my friends are planning on going up to ride the triple nickel this Saturday the 6th. We are a mixed group of beginner and experienced riders and are just looking to have some fun. We are planning on heading out from the Fairborn area at about 10am-12'ish. Anybody want to join us?

Sweet! How'd you score the test drive?

Fine I'm bored lets do the math for first and second gear. xb12r has 84 ft lbs peak torque first gear 84 x 1.5 x 2.648 x 2.407 = 803.090736 ft lbs peak rear wheel torque second gear 84 x 1.5 x 1.892 x 2.407 = 573.809544 ft lbs peak rear wheel torque sv650 has 47.2 ft lbs peak torque first gear 47.2 x 2.088 x 2.461 x 3 = 727.6212288 ft lbs peak rear wheel torque second gear 47.2 x 2.088 x 1.777 x 3 = 525.3892416 ft lbs peak rear wheel torque Well there's the peak numbers. I'm sure I am missing some stuff like shift points, aerodynamics, and torque curve. Interesting at the least.

Isn't there a class that races xb9r's and sv650's in the same class. Lightweight Supersport i think.

The sv overcomes the horsepower disadvantage with gearing. The sv can rev almost twice as high as the xb12r and is geared to take advantage or that fact. With the higher gearing the sv had much more mechanical advantage to the rear wheel. I'm mot saying it's faster but it is really close. It's fine if you don't want to believe me. I was quite surprised myself. I thought the buell would smoke the sv. You guys don't need to get offended. I am just stating my experience with the bike and offering my opinion. If anyone is around dayton and wants to see for themselves just give me a ring. I'm always up for beating on the sv. XB12R Gear Ratios 1st 2.648 2nd 1.892 3rd 1.407 4th 1.166 5th 1.000 1.5:1 Primary Drive 2.407:1 Final Drive SV650 Gear Ratios 1st (2.461) 2nd (1.777) 3rd (1.380) 4th (1.125) 5th (0.961) 6th (0.851) 2.088 Primary Drive 3:1 Final Drive

Honda East in Toledo. They know about as much about Aprilia's as someone cooking you fries at Burger King. Last time I was there and asked about an Ape they didn't even know the difference between the models they had in the showroom.I get most of my stuff from AF1 also.

sv650 11.82 sec http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_SV650S xb12r High elevens http://www.sporttwin.com/Forums/viewtopic/p=8502.html Don't believe me if you want. Ignorance is bliss. I'm really not trying to bash the xb. I looked at buying one instead of my Aprilia. Just my honest opinion about the bike. If your in the area I'll go for a ride with you on the sv.

F&S Harley Davidson here in Dayton will let anyone with an endorsement take one of their bikes for a spin. They let me drive an 1125cr. Thats a pretty sweet bike. I still didn't like the front brake though. I'm not all about straight line speed and neither is the buell owner but his xb12r won't even pull the front end up without dipping the throttle and flooring it at the right rpm. I just expect alot more from 1200cc's and I really don't like how the buell behaves with mid-corner corrections. If I had to touch the brakes at all the bike really wanted to stand up. Anyway to each his own. The closest dealer for my bike is three hours away!

I have raced him on the sv several times. We are head to head until about 80 where the xb pulls ahead until it hits the rev limiter at 135ish and the sv will slowly make up ground until it tops out a little over 140. I wiegh 220 with gear on the sv he wieghs 160 with gear on the xb. Both bikes have exhaust and the buell has a tune. I'm not trying to bash the buell. I do think that despite it's deficiencies it's still a pretty cool ride. I would never recomend anyone buying one without a vigorous test drive to see if they like the way the bike drives. I thought the spec sheet for the xb12r didn't really translate into how the bike drove. You just have to drive it.

I drive a 1000cc aprilia every day and my friend that I ride with at least twice week owns a xb12r. The buell has a couple of good points in my opinion. Belt drive is awesome and torque is cool. Thats about it in my opinion. My bike smokes the buell in a drag race, and it smokes the buell in the corners because it is not very confidence inspiring to the driver. Any 600cc inline four made within the last ten years is also faster in a drag race. My wife's sv650 is just as fast in a drag. The front brake just plain sucks when compared to a good set of brembos of even my wife's sv650 with braided lines and aftermarket pads. The trans is made by Harley Davidson and feels like it came straight off of a tractor. It only has a 110 mile range before the gas light comes on. The bike will roast you legs on a hot day. Everything vibrates like crazy. I mean ridiculous amounts of vibration. It will walk itself down the street when idling. If you talked to my friend about his bike he would say don't buy one. I really wanted to like the buell. It just isn't very good. Harley motors are not made for going fast. They are great for cruising around and making cool noise.

Take it! I trade you for something thats running!

Well my bike's fuel pump just went out today on the highway so it looks like I won't be doing any rides this weekend:mad: This makes me chuckle just asking but does anyone happen to have a spare 2003 Falco fuel pump lying around?

Hello all. I attended this years dyno day on my 2003 Aprilia. I also ride my wife's 2005 sv650s when I feel like really beating on something I'm looking forward to some great southern Ohio rides and would love to hit up the triple nickel soon if anybody's up to it. You guys have any weekly meets in Dayton?
