It's a personal choice about how much risk you are willing to accept. I wear a helmet 100% of the time but ride without my jacket very rarely and always in jeans. One of my riding buddies regularly wears shorts and no helmet. Save yourself some grief and don't worry about it you can't save the world...

Does it have to be a semi-auto? If not I would go with a bolt action, lots of good rifles to choose from in that caliber & super accuracy. If he misses a coyote on the first shot just do some quickscoping

I don't remember the model number but it was the stainless ranch with synthetic stock, pretty sharp looking. I bought it back around the time the AR ban was expired or getting ready to expire and owned it for a couple of years. If they are more accurate now I would consider giving them another try, but ammo is so expensive now I stick to shooting 22s for the most part.

I have had a lot of experience with rifles and the mini I had was one of the most unreliable one I ever owned, and it wasn't because it was not cleaned properly. I have owned several surplus SKS rifles that were more accurate and reliable if that tells you anything. But like I said maybe I got a lemon and the newer ones are better?

I sold mine, the accuracy was poor and it was not reliable. Maybe I got a lemon but I hated it. I would recommend a .22, lots of choices and would make a good farm gun, lightweight & cheap to shoot.

Hey all, Just bought a spare sv top triple off of ebay (for $9.99!) & need a couple of holes drilled for handlebar clamps. I debated just drilling it myself but I am too cheap to buy a good drill press plus I would screw it up anyway, but happy to pay someone who has a press (and some skillz). Here is a picture of what I need: The clamp should arrive by the end of the week & I can bring it over/drop it off whatever, PM me if interested. We went last year and stayed at the Grand Vista Hotel in Vonore, not far from 75 or the dragon. Had a great time can't wait to go again.
