  1. That's correct! Most all bikes now come extremely "leaned out" from the manufacturer to pass EPA emissions tests. A proper PC setup will help enrichen the fuel mixture... and typically clean up surging and/or hesitation due to factory fuel map config, even with a stock airbox and exhaust. If stock, MPG shouldn't be impacted much at all. Airbox & exhaust mods will impact MPG... more air thru motor means leaner mixture, thus O2 sensors detect and tell computer to put more fuel into motor to keep A/F ratio correct. Good tuners will setup a PC for a "street bike" with a slightly "rich" map to protect the motor. Race setups will be tuned leaner to maximize HP but risk higher cyclinder temps, burnt pistons, etc... I had a Honda VFR800 with stock setup that suffered freeway speed hesitation and bucking... very annoying! A PCIII cleaned it up very nicely and convinced me they are pretty manditory anymore...
  2. Man my form sucks! I'm really thinking I'm off the bike until I see these pics vs. the Buell guys! Holy $hit those guys drag pucks!!! A diet and yoga are in my future... But first time out on a new bike and brought it home in one piece. That's an accomplishment in itself! ;-) BIG THANKS to Joe for posting up these pics!!!
  3. Seems there's always late-model liter bikes around for $5k-$7k that folks want rid of... either insurance, payments, or impulse buys play to our favor! I just found an '06 10R with 3,400 miles in the $6k range... has some scratches but otherwise, is almost new. I thought... what's a newer unit getting me performance-wise, very little for that extra $6k (warranty aside)!
  4. I'm in on the 20th, A group.... gonna bring the new ZX10R! Should make for an interesting day... thinking 3rd gear is all I'll need, at least for the first 3-4 sessions! <gulp>
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital_card#Compatibility_issues_with_2_GB_and_larger_cards Looks like a confusing topic as there might be some "non SDHC" 4GB cards made but no guarantee of compatibility. (I believe SD vs microSD is just a form-factor thing... no difference in the specification on how data is written to the device.) I have an SD-based camera that I can put 4GB SDHC cards in but once I exceed 2GB of data written... the video gets corrupted. I found this on a Blackberry support forum for the 8300's: Currently the BlackBerry smartphones running the following BlackBerry® Device Software versions will support up to the size listed. BlackBerry Device Software Media Card Size Limit BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2GB BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4GB BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4GB BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8GB
  6. You all rock! Thx for the welcomes!
  7. Hey all, FastTuna here from the Columbus area! I've finally got my stick in gear and have joined Ohio Riders cause I hear you guys do some cool $hit! I'm actually a DesmOhio (Ohio Ducati chapter) member and club officer but also want to get some outside exposure to what other clubs are doing too so... here I am. FastTuna comes from: I got back into riding about 6 years ago and picked up an older Katana 750 to brush up on the skills. "Tuna" kind of stuck and you always want something speed related in there too so... fasttuna I became! I currently have the affliction of owning too many bikes so I'm in the process of downsizing (for me, 4 bikes is like 2 too many!) I'm just glad I only own a 2 car garage or this could get really out of hand! -Brandt
