  1. Will have it up at MidOhio the next two weekends if anyone wants to see it up close! :-)
  2. I don't coach, leave that to Rick & Tom with their Ducs... but do quite a few trackdays and have played fill-in control rider before! Its a good time if you've ever had the itch!
  3. Try to cut-n-paste the whole link... I think browsers truncate the last part of the URL. Thx https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=149378DF964FE17D!1055
  4. Guess I'm serious about selling the Ninja! http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3171987871.html
  5. That's freekin awesome... I had a chance to flight sim at Flight Safety at port CMH a few years back with a buddy that flew for NetJets! Those sims are unbelievable but should be for $35M each (there are 8 different units there representing different airframes). This guy has achieved 80% from the look of it, just without motion. I love technology!
  6. Its just an "air pump" engine essentially... no fuel. What you aren't seeing is the fishtank pump pushing the air through the line to operate it. Still, that would be one cool little model to play with!
  7. LOVE this thread! Freekin laughing my a$$ off.
  8. HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon - New Albany, OH area (4G coverage) Forced to 3G EVDO mode: 1126kbps down, 735kbps up, 150ms Forced to 4G LTE mode: 8554kbps down, 3686kbps up, 74ms
  9. Have my M&D on VZW Mifi option for past 2 years... 3G/4G with 5GB plan is good for web surfing and general email. If you're doing large downloads, many PC builds w/ updates, or anything streaming... you're going to hit monthy quota quickly as others have stated. My folks have 2 laptops connected and they consume around 3-4GB per month (facebook, email, and basic web surfing). At work, I have 6,500 field staff between VZW, Sprint, and AT&T data services. These folks VPN from Windows PC's for email and corporate web applications (with little streaming)... we keep most folks on the 5-6GB plans to minimize data overages. Another wireless broadband option around Ohio may be Clearwire depending on location. http://www.clearwire.com/ Not sure about data limits, etc. I know the service is available around Columbus area but not sure how rural it extends... website has maps. Sorry to say, I don't know of any wide area wireless broadband solutions that don't limit data usage these days... between Netflix and Youtube, unlimited wireless options are now gone as these providers are trying to protect their networks from bandwidth hogs that consume a lot of streaming content. Just the way it is...
  10. My advice... ride different kinds of bikes when you get an opportunity! Every bike has different characteristics that might resonate with you. I love the low down torque found with a v twin for street riding... but love the big HP and smoothness of 4's for track days. I'd probably love a triple too... What matters is if you like what you got! Multiple bikes doesn't hurt either! :-)
  11. Best of luck and prayers with the surgeons for tonight! I'd heard the redflag but didn't know any details till now. Prayers that you make a full recovery!
  12. In for the 6th... advanced. Haven't been out this year so bringing both trackbikes. Probably start on the 600 and switch it up after lunch to the 1000. Weather's looking good too! I called Friday to signup and still had 20 opening in ADV... sounds like an open track day! :-)
  13. I ordered and installed a product I found on the Internet called a Servo Buddy this week to address the Kawi's onboard error. I wanted to give this simple, effective solution some props as I'm guessing others have to deal with exhaust baffle/value issue when upgrading their exhausts. I pulled the stock exhaust off my '06 Kaw ZX10R this winter and put on a 2-into-1 TwoBros VALE 3/4 system that eliminated the exhaust baffle. I left the servo under the seat installed that acuates the cable to open/close the baffle but once disconnecting the cable, I was getting the red light error on my display. Guess the computer figured out the lack of resistance acuating the cable means there was a problem. I did some searching to find a solution and found this product and web site. http://www.servobuddy.com/ Once installed, the computer error is gone so I'm guessing its sending the necessary signal(s) to prevent any error. I also pulled out the servo which saves a little weight and free's up some under seat space. Anyway, great solution for the problem I had!
  14. Had a new 2010 as a rental out in Salt Lake City for the World Superbike races this past spring (had 7 miles when we got in it)... it was a decently loaded I-4 w/ 6 speed auto. I thought the ride was pretty nice... great acceleration, good gas mileage, ran along at 75-80 no problems, and can say it did do around 110 across the Bonneville Salt Flat with no drama! Put 700+ miles on it in a week and was very impressed. The bluetooth and USB port for MP3's was also slick. If looking for a decent mid 20k car... I would say it has to be at the top of the consideration list!
  15. THANKS to both Joe and Gixxie for sharing these pics... there are a couple excellent pics with the fall colors in the background I'm copying! ;-)
  16. We live in "interesting times" when < $1,000 of equippment can let you have an "edge of space" experience. I bet these guys young boys will talk about this for the rest of their lives and base future "school projects" on pulling this off again! Makes my old Estes rocket with 110 film pretty lame... ;-)
  17. Lots of new motorcycle news coming out of INTERMOT 2010 this week... there's several 2011 model releases! http://www.intermot-cologne.com/thefair/motorcycles.php http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2010/Oct/101005kawizx10.htm http://www.ducati.com/news/ducati_preview_2011_range_in_cologne_with_updates_for_superbike__monster_and_streetfighter/2010/10/05/1815/index.do
  18. Anyone catch the start of the 2010 coverage of the Isle of Man TT on HD Theater! I think the TT and WRC rally cars are the 2 craziest forms of motorsports racing! Cool stuff!
