  1. Auto decompression was added into the exhaust cam in 03 on the YZ250F and it is a poplar mod for the 01 & 02 models, I have retro-fitted 4 of them. The "hot start" lever just leans out the mixture when pulled. When starting (hot or cold) make sure you are at TDC then you just have to give it a swift kick ALL the way down with authority. These bike are not like the 2-strokes where you can just "stab" the kick starter and they light up.
  2. I thought you sold your ZRX but maybe it was someone else in Brunswick. I'll still be riding through the end of Nov-Mid Dec time.
  3. WOW, Honda is bringing back to life the 1964 RC 164 4 cylinder 250 and dropping it in a dirtbike frame, where do I sign up? Casper, you might consider the Suzuki DR400 if you really want a dual sport, it is a much better off road performer than the 650. You didn't say if you were looking for new or used and if you looking for used try and find 1 that has already had the suspension modified. If you are in the 220# range now then strap another 30# of camping gear to the back you won't have much range left in the travel, most dirtbikes are sprung for a 175# max. It's pretty easy to change springs though so don't let that be a deciding factor. If you already have a pickup truck I would get a real dirtbike and haul it to the place you want to ride it. You can put real dirt tires on then and won't wreck them by riding pavement. Another good thing about hauling is when you crash ( & you will crash riding in the dirt) you still got a way home if you crush a radiator or get a flat.
  4. How did you get your bikes parked in front of the bucket without that old crow coming out of the camper and raising Hell? I rode my KTM Duke up into the bucket and she came out screaming bloody murder at me.
  5. I'll take that Apple PowerMac G4 for $80, how would you like to be paid and could I pick it up off your hands Friday?
  6. I'm sure your still welcome to ride at beans unless your riding a ATV?
  7. I do more photo shooting than riding tracks any longer but many guys still ask me to test ride their equipment for them. 8. In 1996 Waikem Nissan in Canton let me take home overnight a brand new 300ZX twin turbo with just a copy of my drivers licence. My girlfriend drove home my 1992 300 Z Result? I purchased it. 2002 Downtown Ford in Canton let me keep a brand new Ford Excursion Diesel over a entire weekend with a copy of my drivers licence and I walked in! (worked right down the street) Result? I purchased it. Both of those vehicles were around the 45K area.
  9. Any of you locals entering the race? I'm deciding if I'm going to make the trip yet. Anyone know the track layout, amateur or national style?
  10. Welcome Christine, I don't know how familiar you are with Ohio roads but I would say the best riding in the State is in the S.E. portion. With your choice of wheels I would bet you have already invested in heated riding gear so that will help extend your riding season. I normally continue street riding through the end of Nov-Mid Dec time of year myself.
  11. We got plenty of guys that do it right to, this was during a race on the 12th this month and again when you whip out the camera guys start showing off. It was starting to get dark and I don't own any "pimp" glass for my current camera so this is 1 of the last shots I was able to grab. I got quite a few action shots in my Picasa album here http://picasaweb.google.com/1foxracing
  12. How about texting while riding, got to be safer on a bike rather than a cage right?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K59eMpWsyNE
  13. Where? Look again' date=' both riders are wearing gloves but the Yamaha rider was not wearing a chest protector and thats where he got the strawberry. There was another rider sporting no gloves so I flagged him over and gave him a spare brand new pair of Dirtpaws I had in my tankbag. Check this guy out, he owns the place (Beans bike park) riding in his Bib overalls on one of Brock Sellards old race bikes. The guy is no spring chicken (nor am I) and he can ride. 14. I found this article WILSONVILLE -- Members of the Brother Speed outlaw motorcycle club rolled into a bloody 26-bike crash on Interstate 5 north Friday afternoon, south of Wilsonville. "When we arrived on scene, it was ordered mayhem," said Lt. Mike Towner of Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. "There were ... two dozen motorcycles scattered across the freeway." Two bikers with critical injuries were flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center and OHSU Hospital in Portland. Seven other crash victims with less serious injuries were taken by ambulance. Northbound lanes at Milepost 282, near the Baldock Rest Area, were shut down at 2:45 p.m., then remained closed for more than an hour, backing up traffic for more than seven miles. Southbound traffic also experienced delays. The bikers were heading north to take part in the Portland chapter's annual birthday bash and a weekend demolition derby, according to one law enforcement official. Lt. Gregg Hastings, Oregon State Police spokesman, said 26 motorcycles were traveling north in the left lane, following a car, when traffic ahead began slowing. The car and the bikers all tried to slow down, but collided, piling up on the road. A vehicle in the middle northbound lane was reportedly struck by one of the motorcycles, Hastings said. State troopers rushed to the crash scene, along with crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, American Medical Response and fire departments from Canby, Aurora and St. Paul. Karen Eubanks, TVF&R spokeswoman, said seven crash victims were treated for shoulder and hip injuries and broken bones. Two others were treated but refused to go to a hospital. Police estimate membership of the Brother Speed Motorcycle Club at more than 100 in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah. The club, founded in 1969, is one of six in Oregon identified by the state Department of Justice as an outlaw biker gang. Members of the club wear black and gold colors that depict a grinning, winged skull wearing a helmet and motorcycle goggles. The bulk of the club's Oregon membership meets at clubhouses in Portland and Hillsboro, according to law enforcement sources. "BROTHER SPEED M/C is a club that is serious about brotherhood, respect, riding fast and building choppers," the club writes on its Oregon Web site. For online updates, visit tripcheck.com. -- Rick Bella; rickbella@news.oregonian.com Looks like they got a head start on the demolition derby to me. Just ask any Harley rider and they will tell you " Never use the front brake,, it will toss you over the bars"
  15. This is the same jump looking the other way with a similar result except this guy did brake his collar bone. Feel free to add your own captions this time.
  16. I was street riding yesterday and on my way home decided to stop by the MX track to see if any of my friends were riding. Talked to a few guys I know and I happened to have my SLR with me so I decided to take a few photo's. When you whip out a SLR your deemed instant pro photog and guys start stepping it up and showing off a little with less than spectacular results sometimes. 1 I'm KING of the world! 2 looks like I might come up a little short.. 3 Rut Row. If your new to riding off road never do this. You can see the rider let go of the throttle here when he should be doing the exact opposite. If you hold the throttle wide open it will bring the front end back up. 4 Ouch.. 5 going over 6 Shit this hurts 7 Down 8 Rag Doll time Another rider ran over to assist to this poor guy and I stepped onto the face of the jump to wave other riders off. He had no broken bones but did suffer some rashing on his back from sliding on the dirt.

Many of the test centers will rent you a vehicle, just call and ask or look on-line.
  18. I would like that Cat5 to make rocket motor igniters, if I send you $5 ( or paypal) would you stuff it in a small box and send it to me?
  19. I'm not a member but i will be riding to Mr Meyers service if it is public. Mark ( Desert Storm Vet)
  20. I have the tools and know-how for that, sadly the tools are on loan to a friend in Iowa, how fast do you need it? It's a 10 min job with the shock off the bike and I wouldn't even charge you for a such a simple job. I've already spent most of my money on motorcycles, hookers, & alcohol,, the rest of it I just wasted.
  21. Was at the track again yesterday and the shooting conditions were much better (bright sun) I don't own and "pimp" glass for my camera but some of these turned out a little better. Beans is having a race this Sat night (sep 12th) if any of you others enjoys this type of action.
  22. buildit, where did you take that first video with the camera mounted on your V-max, is that in Ohio? I have another use for that much open land if it's close by.
  23. I normally spend Sundays at the the local MX track now and a real pro rider lives close and was there riding himself. Brock Sellards #18 was putting on a school for most of these guys but 1 of them could hang with him for 4 or 5 laps.
  24. Here is 1 of my 17 bikes, the trip mileage is from our 1 day trip to the New River Gorge. I have another bike with 219,000 + miles currently as well.
