  1. Me, I can verify that he purchased ALL of those bike brand new and put all those miles on himself. I can tell you that he is a good rider and I think it would be many of you picking gravel out of your own skin if you rode with him. Where were all you hotshot riders when we took a 536 mile ride into WV? I posted it here and guess how many Ohio-Riders showed up?,, ZERO! mileage to high, pace to hot for you? Personally I could care less if people wear gear on rides, it's there skin/life on the line and not my own so to each their own,, I've been on 7 rides over the years where people have been killed ( including my father being hit and killed by a drunk driver in 03) and all 7 of those killed had on FULL riding gear at the time. Quick is a good guy as well, I personally witnessed him lay his own bike down so as not to run over top of a guy that had just looped his ZX12 on a entrance ramp to the highway. Just a couple months ago I had a person wipe out into a guard rail on 1 of my rides and guess who I called to come and scrape the bike off the road? Quick said " no problem" on a beautiful Sunday and brought his truck right over to help me go and collect the bike. Anytime I want someone to ride with I can call him and he's always ready to go, I think if I called him during a thunder storm he would ride along. Speaking of riding with no gear last weekend Quick and I rode up to Akron to meet up with a new riding group and 2 guys showed up wearing shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoe's, & sunglasses. Quick did have a jacket & helmet on and we split for a little ride through the valley and the 2 gearless riders riders soon disappeared into the mirrors. This ride was lead by a chic ( Ducati hottie, remember her? some of you ran her off as well) but we still had a fun riding day. Any of you folks that want to show your stuff Quick has rides that start in New Philladelphia at the Sheetz Station on Sundays @ 1PM. If you want to put your money where your mouth is I know who I'll put my $ on....
  2. Next year you will be able to put a "Historical" plate on it for around $20 and you don't have to re-new them till 2050! Yours looks like a nice example and the only thing I don't like about them is doing valve adjustments,, the rear bank of cylinders is a nightmare to work on.
  3. That was a great idea, I'm lucky though my camera bag fits under the seat of my ZRX no problem ( yes it's a SLR and NOT a point & shoot) I want to get 1 of those new Sigma 17-250 lens so I don't have to carry a extra lens.
  4. Make that 200 Volt AC, the meter might have symbol like this ~ Amp setting won't tell you anything unless you run the current through the meter and I haven't seen any consumer models that will let you put a 200 Amp load through them. There is a clamp style amp meter with a jaw that wraps around the single hot wire (black) at the breaker box.
  5. You might try posting it on www.zrxoa.org but they are a bunch of cheap screws there so be prepared to be "low balled" to death. Your price seems very reasonable to me though.
  6. I'll have to get my Zuma out and race ya, extra points to for putting that historical plate on a freaking scooter. I noticed your place has a county sticker on it, I have 5 or 6 bikes with historical plates and never received a county sticker with any of them. What did it cost to insure that thing? My Zuma cost $9.47 a year to insure through State Farm.
  7. Some of us did that same ride a couple weeks ago, my total mileage was 536 but we had some guys from further up north that were just over 700. http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=31595
  8. CORE ride was great, no cops or drops. 303 total miles for me.
  9. I rode 164 the full distance today with a passenger and the road was in great shape ( no gravel, dead animals and such ) you guys should have a great ride tomorrow.
  10. We have a CORE ride leaving from the DQ in Bolivar this Sat @ 8:30AM, This ride will be around 350 mile round trip from Bolivar I'm guessing. If some of you guys get there early say hi. http://www.coreriders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2364
  11. If you want a independent oil analysis this is the company I use http://www.blackstone-labs.com/motorcycle.html I have all of my motorcycles tested at least once annually. What do I use? Mobil1 15W-50 ( car variety in the 5qt jug from WalMart) and I do have a 1979 Yamaha XS1100 with 217,000 miles currently with zero issues. Golden Spectro would be my 2nd choice and I would not run Amsoil or a Fram oil filter in my lawn mower.
  12. I heard 6 month licence suspension on my drive home from the office today.
  13. I'm riding WV all I can now, when that old fuck RC Byrd finally croaks can you say bye bye funding? The roads will probably turn to dirt again
  14. I'll agree that if you want to ride the gap go down during the week (mon-wed would be best) and get up early. I quit riding the weekends down there 7 years ago. We got plenty of decent roads here in Ohio and WV as well so I don't see the need to go to the gap any longer now. Whenever people from out of the state ( I belong to 7 motorcycle forums) ask me about Ohio roads I tell them "Stay home, Ohio roads suck" ) I come across to many parades ( HD riders going 25mph) around here now and don't want to add to it. I really like riding in WV and I think there helmet law keeps many of the douche bags off the roads. We all know Harley riders hate helmet laws and don't like riding further than 4 miles before arriving to the next bar.
  15. Sorry I could not make it today. 255 was just repaved this spring and is in much better condition than 536 now, 536 seems to have quite a few speed bumps mid corner now.
  16. Crooked River Cycles in Akron rebuilds Ohlins shocks, maybe they could rebuild yours and save you some $ http://www.crookedrivermc.com/
  17. I might make the trip with you, I got some work to do at home in the morning but if I finish by 9AM I'll ride on down to meet you, Are you riding the Honda or Yamaha?
  18. Put a sign in your yard. "Free fire wood, you cut"
  19. Thats exactly how they filmed Tom Cruise riding the old Ninja in Top Gun.
  20. We had a great ride down to WV and back and hopefully I can get a few more to come along on the next 1. I even passed a WV state police ( at around 90MPH) SUV hauling a trailer full of weed without a ticket. Crossing into WV by ferry. The guy on RC was not with us but we ran into him a few times through out the day. He wasn't so lucky with the WV state police. Someone moved there house across the street while we ate lunch in Clay. The bridge Total mileage was 536 for me, there is another guy that had to be around 700 for the day.
  21. If you have a Harbor Freight store close by check them out.
  22. OK if we get a few other great, if not thats cool to. I should add its Exit 81 off I77 for the Sheetz gas station meeting point. There are 2 exits for State RT39 and if folks would happen to get off the highway in Dover you won't find a Sheetz there.
