    Of those two, Skyline hands down. Feeling hungry, might head there now. Jumbo inverted 5 way, two or three cheese coneys with everything.

    The Gold Star founders are from Jordan, which is in the Middle East. Wait, we like Jordan...never mind.

    The Daoud kids (sons of one of the Gold Star founders) were a-holes in high school, according to a long-ago girlfriend who went to school with them. Of course, she turned out to be a c*nt, so who knows?...

    i find it very difficult to believe that Smith only produces 300~ firearms per day - that's roughly 110,000 per year.

    Ruger sold (and I presume made) over 1 million last year.

    I also find it difficult that in these "lean manufacturing" times, that all firearms mannys weren't already running at 100%, or very close to it.

    got nothin' else to add at this point.

    maybe you could approach the school about starting something like this...? :dunno:

    i sign up for some of the events at Derp Jr.'s school - noisy, semi-chaotic, but fun nonetheless.

    9? Punishment seems fair to me.

    Only thing I'd add is to tell him/reinforce that his telling the truth was a very good thing and saved him from harsher punishment.

    "If ya screw up, it's a lot better to come clean immediately; lies will only make it worse".

    Once he hands the loot over and apologizes, let it go. Over and done with. Take him to the workshop, garage, do something father-son. That way he knows you still love him and all that flowery crap.

    It's a multi billion $ industry with a price fixed labor market set right at $0. You get credit that you can only spend at the company store. Free market or antitrust?

    they don't have to get an education, tutoring, better than "regular student" room/board, exposure to potential employers each week, travel, top-flight medical/training, vacation (bowl games), cheerleaders, free tattoos, adulation from fervent fans, etc. if they don't want to play football for "free".

    want it? sign here, play football. assuming you don't do something really stupid while here, you'll always be "an OSU football player", which in this town (probably state/region) opens A LOT of doors.

    *** the 15 or so I know that work/have worked with my company have all been great guys. some smarter than others, of course, but haven't yet met any prima donnas.

    had I had the talent to be offered a D1 scholarship, I would have jumped, and would have been happy with my choice.

    ...I have never been to an OSU game and don't really plan to...

    if you ever get the chance, go. the band's ramp entrance is reason enough.

    True story.... After our business closed in the early '90s, my dad took a job at small community college as a counselor and instructor. When he was diagnosed with cancer, he pulled me aside and gave me a small stack of checks to mail at specific intervals. A few students who needed help thought that they had received scholarships, but it was he who was paying for their school so they would finish. They still don't know to this day. A great man. Cancer takes the best of them.

    my Pop was awesome in his own way - i'm trying to be an awesome dad, too. so far, so good - but Derp Jr. is only 12 and still thinks i walk on water.. plenty of time for me to become an idiot in his mind. hopefully that doesn't happen, and if it does that time and reflection will fix that.

    No, I do hardware reviews on the side for a hobby and paid for my own trip to CES.

    since you paid for the trip, screw the co-loafers.

    sell device, use proceeds for hookers and blow.
