  1. 1) I've only been married almost 6 years but I've been (including living with) my now husband since April of 1999. 2) I met my husband online in October of 1998 before it was all hip-trendy-cool-e-Harmony-Match.com bs. We met in a mIRC chat room (channel) called #Worldchat on the 'Undernet' server. I was even dating someone at the time, but we just hit it off and the rest is history. 3) I am a Green Belt in Kenpo but I haven't done Karate since I was 13. 4) My dog ate a pear I caught in a Alanis Morissette concert. I was given tickets to the concert cause a friend of ours sent alot of money to Tori Amos's RAIN foundation. Well, Alanis was the headliner. She was not that great. But near the end of the concert she went back behind the curtain and came back out with a fruit basket and started tossing fruit. Somehow I caught a darn pear. It was either that or get a black eye from it. I had plenty of crazed lesbians begging me for the pear asking me what I was going to do with that awesome pear. I wouldn't let any of them have it just because they were creeping me out and wanted that damned fruit so badly. I took it home and my dog who we just got and was only 6 months old at the time was intreigued by it. She sniffed that pear and eventually ate it. Yup. My dog ate a pear thrown by Alanis Morrisette. 5) I got married in Niagara Falls, Ontario over looking the Horseshoe falls. Took friggn' 6 months for me to get my marriage license due to their backlog. 6) I'm from Southern Illinois originally and despise all of Illinois except Chicago. 7) I lived in Anchorage, Alaska for about 6 months. Even became a resident. I've seen Wasilla (Grandpa had a cabin there) and it's nothing that impressive. Certainly not future-president status. 8) When I lived in Anchorage I worked in security as a Pre-Board Screener for Anchorage International Airport. This was pre-9/11. 1997 actually. Strangest thing I ever saw on the x-ray was a chain saw. He was allowed to take it on board due to lack of fuel supply and chain not attached. 9) When I was only about 20 I had a cruddy job working at CompUSA and my husband came to pick me up one day at work cause we were sharing a car... someone asked him if he came to pick up his DAUGHTER. Thought I was his kid. 10) You probably already know this.. but I'm a big voters rights advocate and in 2008 I was the Street Team Leader for Rock the Vote in Columbus. During that time I met the former Secretary of State, Mayor Coleman, put on a concert near the Ice Rink with the Rock the Vote tour bus, was interviewed by Portugeuese reporter for a publication, and spoke at many-a tailgates and other events promoting the importance of voting. Side note-- what I find funny about this post is that most of the time when people ask you to tell them something they don't know about ya.. I have to say I ride a motorcycle. LOL That usually makes their jaw drop.
  2. Hubby will be needing some stuff for his street glide. Thanks for the post.
  3. Jim will be getting his bike Friday night --- so this is quite do-able for us now. Before it was going to be rough with a 3 hr trip to Warren, OH and back. I heard Creekside Blues fest is this weekend too.
  4. Which Shadow do you have?

  5. I hear ya about that.

I usually ride with my husband and the neighbor. Both guys.

Typically just to some bike nights and occasionally to Indian Lake or Buckeye Lake.

By myself to be honest the furthest I've rode alone has been only to Quaker Steak and Lube at Polaris from Marysville. Backroads. :) Still getting the miles under my belt.

  6. We probably won't be there cause Jim is selling his bike. Gotta do the DMV thang and all that bid'ness stuff. Jim is without a bike after that guy picks it up tomorrow. Tee hee! Sold it to a guy from Newark. Hopefully we'll be picking up Jim's HD on Saturday. Waiting on the bank to complete the underwriting on the loan.
  7. Bike sold! (well the guy stopped by, rode it..and working out details with his bank right now.. loved it!) $5k.. cha-ching! Down payment on Street Glide.
  8. looks great! Hoping the hubby keeps his mods to a minimum.. least till the bike's paid off.
  9. Yeah just cause she's a girl doesn't mean she has to play 'Princess' or 'I love to shop! - crap' My niece is a beautiful girl who my brother-in-law had her out hunting since she was a wee-thing. Now at 6 she's a force to be wreckened with!
  10. moooooose! Its' the perfect bike for you! Come' On! just teasing. Great bike though. I hate to see it get traded in at a dealer.
  11. Hey.. I just saw this. I'll ask him. 12:12PM.. SENT U A MESSAGE.
  12. I know I've read this post.. can't recall if I commented though. (darn old age!) I don't think it's too young. My dad used to put me on the back of us 85 Honda Magna. He'd put a oversized helmet on me (looking back now.. bad idea) and then I would be silly enough to have shorts on. So, for the rest of my life I have 2 wonderful scars from my leg touching the exhaust. But no.. I still don't think 10 is too young. However, like it was said, also depends on the riding skills of the parent. (Oh, and I think a helmet that didn't belong to the parent and actually was the kids size would of be a good move in retrospect.)
  13. All the best to him and his family (and friends).

    Bad Day

Best of luck to you. I just bought two new cars in less than a year and working on purchasing a new bike. Gah.. Best of luck!!

    New helmet

I do love my stickered-up HJC modular flip.. but yeah, both f'n springs that control the visor came out at the same time. I had to order them online. I just bought a back-up HJC helmet. HJC seems to fit my head best. Alot of other brands are too big.
  17. Husband is getting a 2010 Street Glide. Or at least that's the plan. Should know by weekend.

  18. Missed your tv appearance. Glad you're alright. However I had a 'WTF Happened here!?' experience on Saturday. We went to go grab a beer and get a pizza to go in the same town (Marysville). And I came back to my house to see leaves everywhere, trashcans thrown about, tree limbs in my yard, etc. We didn't get any damage like you did.. But I was pretty shocked I was in the same town and was none-the-wiser as to what was going at my place about 7 miles away. That wind storm was pretty strange. Btw, we only got wind.. not hail.
