  1. Hey guys, I have had my buell maybe 2 months now, All tho i havebeen riding since i was 4 on motorized 2 wheels I am not really at 95% on this bike yet, If this ride is for the more " race minded" then I might just stay home. But this thread was started with someone escorting his friend like a duck and duckling. If that is the case I am in

Yea Jbot exagerates a bit and he likes leading ducks to slaughter.

some guys will ride like they're getting chased by the choppa, and me and my friend will be riding a very sane pace. don't worry about the group pace, just your own.

This^. Ride your pace and if we've gotta wait a few for someone to catch up no big deal. Was just making sure anyone thinking of comming was expecting a "spirited" pace and not planning on poking along.

I'm down where is the meeting spot
The Wendys right of the exit for rt60 in Zanesville at 10:00? I belive its exit 155

    What that guy said ^

  2. had planned on it but i was confused on the route, so i asked a couple of guys i work with to go.. not sure those guys are into the distance/railing game...leavin it under 200 miles for em...

Ill just have to head out for the next one..

185 miles if you break off when we cross 70 on 83.

  3. I know 1000rrrider and Jbot know this road so this is for the rest of them to think about. I'm sure Todd would warn you guys before you went on it but I have warned people and this turn still surprises them.

Have fun guys and be safe, wish I could make it.

Yea what he said, read it. And yes that curve he is talking about came very very very close to getting me too. That turn is THE reason I run that road south to north instead of north to south like most others do.

  4. Ok, from the meeting spot doing 555, 78, 536, 800, 83, 93, 208, 16 is 215 miles and that will end us on 16 in Dresden and the Columbus guys can head home frome there or Columbus can head off from 83 and 70 in Cambridge and that would be 185 miles. That fine or does anyone want it shorter? Don't matter to me speak up if it doesnt work for you. May also skip on 536 depending on the group we have for odvious reasons. That would shorten it up a touch and if 555 is closed we'll just run down 146 or somthing that will shorten as well, or if people in the group are opposed to 555.

Not gonna be a cruiser sight seeing ride either, I'm sure all know that but just incase. But please ride at a pace for your level, I'm sure everyone would rather wait a few than have to go get a trailer to come back and pick up the pieces. I know I would.

  5. Aggresiveness is good. He's there to win, not make friends.

This ^ . You dont win races by waiting for the leader to raise his right hand and let you pass. You win by making a pass when you see a chance.

  6. Todd you want to work on a route? This might be to long but was thinking 555 to 78 to 800 south to the river. could run up to 536 back to 78 to 83 north.
Sounds fine, a lil long but fine. I dont ever really "plan" a route just kinda know what roads we wanna hit and wing it from there. :)
Are we taking the route that was posted in the begining of the thread? If so a good meeting spot would be mcdonalds off 33 in Carrol. Not totally sure what route is goin on here lol.

That would be nowhere near where we are riding, did you read any of the posts??

  7. Cool-down is not exactly unimportant. Heavy equipment operators go through a regimented cool-down process at the end of every running. Why? The engines are expensive and they want to make them last as long as possible.

a lot of heavy machinery use diesel engines with oil-cooled turbos....the cooldown procedures are to let the engine cool down so the cool oil can circulate through the turbo so the hot stuff doesnt bake into it and mess up the turbo....thats why a lot of companies are making water cooled turbos now, no more problems with oil baking into them.

unless he has an oil-cooled turbo on his r6, he is perfectly fine just shutting it off

Yes, what he said. It's 100% for the turbo has nothing to do with the motor. The turbo will normally be 600 to 1000 degrees and when shut off at that temp the oil will bake in the line and plug it up then the turbo gets huffed on the next run.
