I commuted today, too. Fuck winter. After the hands go numb, they burn, then they go numb again. Then you don't have to worry about them. Seriously. My Shadow came with a windshield, but I immediately took it off and lost it in storage. The 'police-bike' look is teh fail. But, I found it and put it on anyway, and holy shit that thing is awesome. Over the last couple of weeks, my commute/ rides had been getting less and less pleasant. Yesterday, however, I was more or less comfortable wearing my '50-degree' gear (plus a facemask). Seriously, all you other cruiser guys-- Don't be afraid of looking like el-douchebagio. Get a fuggin windshield. This shit is awesome. Oh, shit, it's happening; 30 more years and they'll be issuing me a GoldWing and an AARP membership. /facepalm

I've finally snagged a copy, and I've been playing a ton. For whatever reason, I'm not as good at it yet as I was in COD4, so I've mainly been playing Domination-- I grab a riot shield with the Commando perk, and remote-pummel the enemy and take the captures. Either that, or I play bullet-sponge while my teammates gank the distracted bad guys. Everyone always shoots the guy with the shield, leaving themselves wide open for the rest. I'm on a lot in the evening, sometimes late. a3rik is my XBL gamertag, if anyone wants to join up.

It gives them an excuse to save a few pennies-- companies always try to weasel out of warranty service, because it costs man-hours, parts, and materials, with no extra income from the customer. This is just one more example.

(sigh) Well-intentioned stupidity is still stupidity. I can understand what they 'mean' by what they're saying, but what they're proposing isn't realistic or beneficial. I'd much prefer to have human rights groups focusing on the real world; at least there they serve a purpose. And before this thread devolves into some kind of 'stupid hippies vs. stupid bloodthirsty lunatics' argument, I'll say this: I certainly don't agree with every action taken by every human rights group, because they tend to include a lot of 'true believers' and true believers are stupid, no matter what they believe. I do, however, feel that the human rights movement as a whole has been a net positive for the world. Their major function is to shine a big flashlight on some of the awful shit humans do to each other, and remind us of some of the ideals we should be working toward, even if those aims are unrealistic.
