Need help 2008 GSX-R600 Track bike
Modern Synthetics replied to Modern Synthetics's topic in Tech and Tips
I guess I have a few ways I could go about the ignition issue. I'll have to consider the options. The service manual is a good idea but I have a feeling that I may still need help figuring out some of the various connectors, electronic components and placement. Many items are off the bike and in boxes. Since I haven't worked on a GSX-R since the late 90's it will prolly be a challenge for me. -

RockStar Choppers - New Amsoil Retailer in Lewis Center
Modern Synthetics replied to Modern Synthetics's topic in Daily Ride
Amsoil marine oils do have ZDDP additives. The amounts of additives are determined by the oil specifications. If you are looking for an oil with an additive package that contains high levels of zinc and phosphorus I would recommend Amsoil Premium Protection 10W/40(AMO) or 20W/50(ARO). Both of these oils have a high levels of zinc and they are suitable for marine applications. Pricing would vary depending upon quantity ordered. You can see retail pricing at my website www.modernsynthetics.com. If you would like to purchase at wholesale you can become a preferred customer for $20 annually and save around 20% - 25% off retail. As an OR member I would reimburse you $10 of your Preferred Customer membership if you order $50 or more of Amsoil products. On one occasion, instead of reimbursing a preferred customer $10, he requested that I upgrade him to dealer status instead of sending him a check. He felt he could earn a commission promoting Amsoil to his friends, family and acquaintances and is doing well with his Amsoil business. Let me know if you have any other questions. -
Cool Dude gets owned by Ice Cream Truck

That Dumb Ass must have forgotten that he stepped outside of the ghetto. It blows my mind when I go to the city and F#%*tards walk right out in front of traffic at a snails pace and expect vehicles to stop for them. If you do that shit in most places, as shown in video, you will be road kill. He got what he deserved. -
this is what i've been doing the past month...

YOU NEED TO BUY THAT BIKE IF POSSIBLE! I would love to find a nice RZ350. They were just coming out when I was in Junior High. Guys a couple years older than me that were of legal driving age had them and I was so envious. Those and then the Interceptor 500. Seriously bad ass to a 15 year old. -
I thought they already held that at Laguna Seca?

Was that in Croton? I heard briefly on the news that 2 died in storms in Croton today. I was eating lunch today when those storms came through and I moved away from the windows in our dining room. It was blowing so hard I was scared. -

I bought a 2008 GSX-R600 that was crashed. Ignition switch is damaged and previous owner started to part it out so all electronics and such were unplugged and many pieces taken apart. I want to get it running and work on turning it into a track bike for late this season or next year but I need help. Electrical diagrams may be needed with damaged ignition switch. Anyone know the 2008 Gixxers like the back of their hand? If so, get in touch with me. Beer and pizza is on me for he who is knowledgeable in Gixxer 2008. If you don't know it all and would like to bring your bike to be stripped of bodywork for examination that would work too. Any takers?

SMJ is coming to Circleville June 19-20th
Modern Synthetics replied to 4DAIVI PAI2K5's topic in Track is Crack
What is SMJ? -
OK, I don't watch soccer but what the heck kind of throw was that? Is that flippy deal some hot new move devised to get more energy behind the ball? Crazy throw technique.

Excellent point about not trying to put firearm in console while officer is right behind you. That kind of movement would definitely draw attention from LEO. I knew that I was getting pulled over as soon long before the officers were close enough to see my movements . Firearm was in center console before patrol car was even close. Both stops at nights also, so movement was not detectable from distance. I would not think of making all that movement while officer was on my rear bumper, parked behind me or walking up. Definitely a no-no at that point. From the time I began pulling off to the side my hands remained on the wheel until I slowly reached over to put the window down and then handed my ID's to the officers and notified them that I had a loaded pistol in the center console.
-
Have you actually been pulled over while carrying? I have, twice. I immediately put my pistol in center console and pulled out my drivers license and license to carry before LEO approached my vehicle. I then held those two items in my hands which I kept in plain sight, on the steering wheel. When LEO came to truck window I immediately informed him that I was licensed to carry and have a loaded pistol which I placed in the center console. One officer asked that I get out keeping hands in plain sight and step to the rear of the truck so I was not near my weapon. He frisked me to be sure it was not on me and then went to his patrol car with my info. He came back, thanked me for being co-operative and sent me on my way. Second time I informed officer and he didn't even seem to care. Just asked that I keep my hands on the wheel while we spoke and then see ya later have a nice day. Niether one freaked out at all.

It is standard practice when when training for self defensive shooting to aim for center of mass in order to neutralize a threat. In a high stress situation your don't have time to think about where you should shoot someone in order to do the least damage. If someone is shooting at another person they are trying to stop that person that they feel is a threat to thier own safety. If you are trying to shoot for a shoulder and your aim is slightly off because your are in a high stress situation and you just graze someone you have not neutalized the threat and they can still attack you. That is why police officers or anyone training for self defense situations aims for the center of the torso. If your off a bit you are still likely to hit vital organs which will limit your attackers ability to harm you. I am not defending this police officer for shooting in this situation. I personally do not see how the officer felt his life was threatened by the rider simply turning around to l see what was going on. Like several others have said, in the video I was expecting some shooting off in the distance and then I was like WTF? The guy that pulled over just got shot in the back. I would have turned around just like the rider in the video, probably to the left but I'm sure I would have been shot had I been the rider in that traffic stop.
