  1. Where did you have this done?

C's Window Tinting. Craig Holko is the guy's name, he does commercial building window tint and cars. He's a great guy, I actually just dropped my car off with him one Sunday afternoon and he had it done in a few hours.

He's in the Cortland, OH area. Let me find his business card and I'll get you his number.

  2. Last fall I went on a few rides through the Calcutta/East Palestine area down in to WV, then followed the river to outside of PGH and back then went back into Ohio. There's a lot of really nice roads down there. Unfortunately most of my riding is on commuting on I-77/I-76 :(

  3. I had mine done for $180, but it would be about a 45 minute drive for you. The tint looks great though, and it's the high quality stuff, not the tint that turns purple after 5 years...

Doors are 35%, rear 1/4 glass and back window are 20%.

  4. I did know you rode! Maybe that explains the bike dyno?

I've been into cars way before I ever considered getting a bike. Right now I'm driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, I've been modding it since I got it about 3.5 years ago, and it was completely stock before I got a hold of it.

It's pretty fun to drove for what it is, and it should be a lot more fun after my build is done in May. As it sits right now though, I've added a K&N cold air intake, autolite 104 plugs, a 180* thermostat, MSD 8.5mm wires, The Other Guy's headers, a full Borla catback, 1.9:1 ratio roller rockers (and upgraded springs and other valve train stuff to support the rockers), a modular pulley system for the supercharger, I'm currently running a 3.4" pulley, I have an AEM wideband afr setup that also outputs to a tuner, and I'm tuned on the wideband. I've got polyurethane motor mounts, SSC lowering springs, and a GM Performance Parts handling kit (GMPP HK not installed yet).

I'm actually doing a pretty big build over the next few months. The roller rockers are being replaced by an aftermarket cam, I have a race built transmission in the garage with a 4340 steel input shaft, hardened 4th gear clutch shaft, and a 3k RPM stall, and I'm planning on putting 3.29 gears in (gtp's have 2.93's stock).

Looking to get low 12's, and if I can't hit that on the planned build I'll throw a 50 shot on :D

It put down 245 HP and 326 Ft-Lbs at the wheels on the Dyno at Dyno Brian's last May, and I'm hoping for about 275 HP at the wheels this time around.

I've also got tons of aesthetic stuff done but I won't go in to that now.

So yeah, I guess I'm in to cars.

  5. why does it look like your pontiac is doing a RWD burnout?

In my sig pic? It doesn't look like it's doing a rwd burnout to me? The back wheel has more white around just from the blur effect I think is what you're seeing.

    burnoutbackground.jpg

It'll do the fronts though :D (the back of the car is jacked up with springblockers to keep it from squatting on launches)

  6. I do like the integrated signals. My g/f's bike just had the stock ones.

They were a pita to install though, I had to cut the base of the light down so the lens would fit flush, and the wires are color-coded incorrectly. I also had to replace the connector and resolder all the wires. The quality was complete crap but it looks good now that its working.

  7. Well I cleaned up my bike some, did some paint repair on the left fairing (filler/touchup, wetsanding, polishing) to the damage done by the previous owner, then gave the bike a nice wash and wax. I also got some new graphics, which look pretty good in my opinion.

First, I replaced the "SUZUKI" graphics on the fairings with reflective white. They look stock during the day but at night they are highly reflective, and being seen is always a good thing :) I also got carbon fiber engine cover graphics, with reflective blue "SUZUKI" logos on them as well, and a pair of the Suzuki "S" logo in carbon fiber to go over the brushed aluminum on the gas tank.

I'll get some picture of the "S" on the gas tank some other time. I ordered them slightly too small and they don't cover the brushed aluminum completely.

All the graphics are from houseofgrafx.com, which I have been using for all my graphic's needs for about 4 years. All the vinyls on my car are also from houseofgrafx, and they are still holding up great after spending winter in Ohio for their entire lives. You can get just about anything you want made there as well. The motor case graphics were a custom job but can now be found on the website.

Once I find a carbon fiber slip on can I think everything will be tied together nicely.

If I can't be fast I might as well be nice to look at as I putt around ;)

Here's a picture for reference to what my bike looked like when I got it (minus wheel tape):

  8. Welcome! I didn't do anything to my GS, I knew I'd be off of it in no time. As far as exhaust and anything goes, I knew it wasn't fast or going to be... so I left it stock and rolled around like a bosss

... but to each their own

Haha well it's not like I want to try to pretend it's fast or anything (I love seeing GSF's with big "R" stickers on them, cant help but laugh), but I'm stuck with it until I get out of school (at least 2 more years). I just want it to be a bit more enjoyable to ride/nicer to look at. In my opinion the stock can looks goofy, it's too big for such a small bike. I'd really like to get a Daytona 675 or a R6 but I've got to get through school and get a decent job first. Plus I'm giving the GS to my girl once I get a new bike and I know she's going to want it to look good  like a boss.

  9. Over to the Kinzua Dam, Laurel Highlands, Ohio Pyle, basically western PA. I like riding in Pa. There are some really nice clean roads and beautiful scenery.

I'd like to go out to western PA this summer. So far I've only gone on 2 longer rides, both to the Calcutta/East Liverpool area, into WV for about 5 miles, then heading back home through PA.

  10. Hello and nice bike. Furthest east I usually make it around these parts is Nelson, Mantua, Hiram... Been threw Southington (534) several times. But just to meet up with some riders going east into Pa.

    See you around.

Thanks! Nelson has some fun roads, Nelson Road before it crosses 422 has few nice turns. I'm up that way a lot actually, my girlfriend god to Hiram College. You're not missing anything in Southington though :o

Where do you ride in PA? I've got a lot of family in the New Castle/North Jackson area, there's a lot of nice places to ride over that way.

  11. Welcome. My first bike was 1993 Suzuki GS500E great bike to learn on and fun to ride. I still have it, rebuilt it and painted it this winter. It will be back on the road this summer after after 15 years in the garage.

The GS is nice because its easy on the wallet (price, gas, and insurance) and they're not too bad looking either. You have any pictures of it? I like full fairing bikes, but naked GS's look pretty good.

  12. Welcome...Nice looking GS. Its pretty obvious you take good care of her!!!

Where about's in NEO are you located?

Thanks, and yeah, I'm one of those "attention to detail" kind of guys.

I'm in Canton for school right now, but I live in Southington. Looking to move to the Akron/Cuyahoga Falls area sometime in the late summer early fall.

  13. Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Kyle, and I own a 2004 GS500F. I signed up on here when I got the bike last fall but forgot all about this forum :o

It's nothing special, but it's my first bike and I love it for that reason. So far I've concentrated on the way the bike looks, since it's not really a fast bike to begin with. I'm the second owner of the bike and when I got it, it needed a new rear tire, the front fairing was messed up a little and the left fairing also had some damage. I was told the bike was never dropped, but instead hit the tracks on someone's garage door...Anyhow I went to work pretty quickly on fixing it up. Replaced the rear tire with a Metzeler Lasertec and changed the oil, then got to riding.

Since then I've replaced the front fairing, and replaced the rear fairings with blue colormatched fairings from a 2005. It looks a lot better than the pearlish white that was stock. Got some nice carbon fiber bar ends as well. I installed "carbon fiber" flush mounts on the front and got a Clear Alternatives LED tail/brake light with integrated turn signals for the rear, Got reflective wheel tape for the wheels, chopped up the part of the rear fender in the back to clean it up and relocated some reflectors. I'd like to get CF brake and clutch levers and a CF tank guard as well.

As far as the motor goes, it's not really a fast bike, but I did install a K&N filter, I'm looking for a CF slip on pipe, and I plan on rejetting the carbs once I find a pipe. I'm also going to go with a -1/+1 sprocket setup. It should be a bit quicker then. Even though it's pretty slow for a bike it's a blast to ride in the twisties.

Here's a few pictures of the progress so far...

Here's what it looked like when I first got it (except the wheel tape):

Anyhow, I look forward to talk with everyone here and maybe even going on some rides. My dad is also a bike guy, he has a 2000 V-max and 2006 (I think) FJR1300, and I'm sure he'd like to get out and put some miles on his bikes too.
