I'd love mine... If only I had a clean air filter. It's okay for me to joke about it, right? God I hope so,I don't wanna start another s#$&storm here.
-
Iron Pony's pricing starts near $600 on the Neotec.
-
You said it right Jagr. Bell put their name on it, but they don't make it. If you want a quiet modular be prepared to shell out major cash: Shoei Neotec or Schuberth C3.

..... I wish we could edit or delete threads we start.....

Ummm, ya. I am totally with you. See my 2 threads in Shop reviews titled " Don't trust Independent Motorsports" and "Independent Motorsports deserves better. " Nuff said. -
Thanks guys.

I wanted to get the other thread off the top line of this category. These guys deserve way more credit than I gave them when I started that stupid thread.I don't deserve a break but they do. If you guys want to start a stupid joke thread, please do it here instead of on that one. Thanks.

NIIIICE. In other news, I talked to Casey, he's willing to look into my high idle problem. It's more than I deserve at this point; thanks Casey!
-
Thanks, Isaac's papa and sorry for the profanity last night. You guys are right. I screwed up all around.
-
Nope, I sure can't. I put the cart before the horse here for sure. I made the wrong assumption that they would tell me to fuck off since I bought the bike with no warranty. The filter, to me, was just an example of what I considered to be their attention to detail. Please give me a little more credit here guys, I PLANNED to change it and the oil as well as a few other things. As I stated here before, I'll try to make things right with them. Even though I might not deserve a second chance, they deserve a first chance. Is that enough to calm everybody down or do I need to apologize to every member here?
-
Reread all of my posts. Does it sound to you like I am pitching a bitch? This post was originated because I didn't want anyone else to buy from Independent without doing their due diligence, like I should have. Fuck you, Isaac's papa. You piped in an awful lot. Maybe you should get a hobby.
-
Perhaps you should read before you type.
-
Thanks everyone for weighing in. I'll call and tell them that I vented here before asking for their help and apologize for that, then tell them what I found. I know they had the bike over the winter, there was a tag on it that said it was winterized in early January. I'll keep everyone posted on what happens since I apparently pulled a bitch move by posting first.

All I said was don't trust, not don't buy. I guess this goes for anything a person buys used. It's been a very long time since I bought a used bike; most of my previous bikes were bought new. I accepted blame from the very first sentence I typed, I am just disappointed is all. I still think a dealership owes it to the customer to go over anything they sell, I will only sell something with full disclosure. Honesty is my only policy because the truth never changes.
-
As I said before, I was PLANNING to replace the filter, as well as change the oil. The point I was trying to get across is that had I seen the condition of the filter, I would have walked away from the deal and the dealer. I don't claim to even be interested in running a bike shop but I couldn't allow a single bike to be sold without having ALL of the bike in very good working order. I am capable of fixing the bike myself but not everyone is. I just don't want anyone else to go through the same thing, which is why I named this thread what i named it. You may have a great experience but I haven't yet...
-
If you guys think it's worth calling them I'll try. I do remember the words in very large print that said "AS IS, NO WARRANTY." I just figured there wasn't a point in asking. Like I said, I feel like I didn't do my part as a buyer since I didn't go beyond face value with the bike before buying it. I surely deserve some blame here too.
-
I deserve an ass-whipping for not doing enough investigating into my recent purchase from this place, but I wish I had taken a picture of the air filter I took out of my VFR. I planned on replacing it with a K&N right away anyway, but it was so loaded with crap that they couldn't possibly have even looked at it. What else did they ignore? A common problem with 6th gen VFRs involves a high idle due to thermostat and/or faulty wax unit. So, I get to tear into that next. Thanks a lot Independent, you deserve some bad press right now. HERE IT IS! :nono:

Got any pictures of the aquarium? I've been wanting to get back into a reef tank.
-
Don't be afraid of it. Just remember that CL is a place for a lot of people who know nothing about what they are selling. More than likely this bike is a wreck but if it's fixable it's a great bike.

Thanks Brian. You'd think I would know that the Medium and Large are housed in the same shell, seeing as how I work in the helmet department at Iron Pony! Truth is, I deal with Shoei and Arai waaaaay more often than this excellent helmet.
-
I'll take Brian's word for it. If the medium liner installs in the large shell, I can probably get a new one for you at a below retail price. Let me know...
-
Going on craigslist tomorrow if it doesn't sell here. Come on guys, buy this thing!
-
El Capitan, if you ordered your Star at Iron Pony, I'm the guy you talked to about it. I remember talking about your Hawk; you knew someone who was trying to sell one. Still for sale?
-
Thanks for the tips. For me that's still a pain, but if it sells the helmet it's worth it!
-
This helmet is new in box, still has the tags and faceshield protective film on it. It's incredibly light and has not yet had a head in it. This helmet is a round-oval to intermediate-oval head shape and comes with a killer zip-up bag. What is it worth to you? Let me know. I think this thing retails at like $569.95 but I have yet to look it up. $400 and I'll ship it for free.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/707/helmetsforsale001.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/804/helmetsforsale002.jpg/

I saw your VFR if it was the white one at IP about a year ago? I've worked there part time for almost 5 years now. I guess I didn't notice if the kit was still on it or not when you got rid of it. Any idea where I'd be on price? And thanks for the tip about the seat, I've heard very mixed reviews on the Sargent unit. My only complaint so far about the stocker is how much it slopes toward the tank. I like the density of the foam.
