1/30 is track day at Nola ,we going there and maybe race over that weekend.

42 days this year even with the injuries,and still slow .

Last weekend I was at Nola.only 5 people in each group,so I got the track all for myself.track is flat,like you ride at airport.the turns are not easy,most difficult track I ever been on,take me all day to remember the turns.lot of side wind since is on a coast.food is fantastic there,best sausage I ever eat, was from alligator .

Gas is there lot cheaper,diesel $ 3.16.only 2 hours driving more than to Jennings.

next track day is end of January ,or begging February,schedule is not finalize yet.everybody was super nice.

It's 15 minutes from new Orleans.wont mind go back.

Normally transponder rentals are free for the first round after race school....if not you can borrow mine.  What is left to prep on the bike that we couldn't knock out Saturday?

9/13, but it's a PIRC day. I was confused by Rusty's post. Ok, I was confused because of marijuana, but I always try to read his posts in a German accent.. and that's really hard to do with a straight face when you're baked.

Why you confuse .i said come back in 2 weeks with motoseries,and if you cant wait that long this weekend is track day at midohio.

You guys better have bikes tech ready,something tells me some people bikes will get extra attention,lol.

If you need anything Mark Junge is your man.nobody know more about GSX then him + he is almost at every midohio track.

I know what I saw. rslocum was there and he saw it, too. I watched a helicopter land in the field because a rider was pinned underneath a motorcycle, unconscious for almost thirty minutes. I saw a rider break his shoulder by almost rear-ending a fellow rider. I saw another bike blow past a novice rider, run out of track (or talent), and then fly apart in the grass.

 

Maybe this is typical shit for that track. It's way shorter than anything I'm used to riding, but goddamn. Every session before lunch.. all three groups.. were red flagged. Every. Fucking. Session. Was. Red. Flagged.

 

Every session before lunch had a crash. Some had two crashes. That's a lot of smashed riders and bikes by eleven o'clock in the morning.

 

I'm not sure how that doesn't scream "unsafe environment".

Advance level had red flag in first session,second not sure,we never get out for third one because of the air lift.

This was not normal day for this track,come back in 2 weeks with motoseries and you will experience completely different riding.

Last time I was there with Nesba I count 24 crashes,last Saturday wasn't much better.i guess N2 don't learn much from Nesba.

That's why everybody who was not happy last weekend should come this weekend to midohio

I meant on this thread what Brian stated,sorry if my words choice come up little ignorant,and harsh.people who know me ,know I mean well,and I try help anybody at any level at track.

This isn't correct again, Rusty.  There are plenty of motard riders out there that I know would probably give you a threat.  The status of that motard and that rider is what we use to evaluate.  A blanket "NO" is not correct.  It is a tough call.  A 450 just isn't going to have the top speed, but we had a Hypermotard only running a buck-twenty and he was running faster than most.  So, the answer is to call and ask or to ask here in a PM to me and I will talk to Todd. 

 

I can promise that I can run my Hypermotard almost as fast as you can run that well prepped racebike.  Does that mean you should bump down to Intermediate?

I personally ask Todd Snyder yesterday,he told me no motards at twilight.just passing what I been told

The problem is less and less experience riders go to higher level then are they skills,and then they complain ,somebody ride too close,somebody pass them inside,and the rules getting change for the majority,which is not right.

At twilight use to be advance rules, it was lot more fast and fun,then more ,and more slow intermediate riders start come,they where not comfortable with inside passing ,so the rules where change to intermediate.how is that fair to the fast guys??If you want play with fast guys shut up and try keep up ,or stay home and don't complain.

In few weeks are AMA vintage,Wera,AMA pro races,which means more and more pro or club racers come practice.that don't mean track day become race,just the pace is lot more faster.if you at finish line and another rider is about turn to turn one,and you still running in to him in middle in the turn that's where is getting dangerous ,because you don't expect that,he should be long time ago gone,the closing speed is so different,which shouldn't be,you make inside pass ,then he complain he got pass too close.

For the motard ,at smaller tracks the top speed is not that big difference,but at midohio it is.if you go at back straight 127 ,600s go 160s,1000s go 176and up.

Chuck are you the guy who run the motard at Putnam with motoseries ?

I'm just asking not whining what the rules state......  when I went to one twilight event two years ago on a Motard and past half the intermediate group even with a slow 127mph straightway speed......so a simple yes or no answer is all you need with me.....are motards welcome at twilight event???  Just looking for a little track time before WERA races so a full day event is fine with me too

Motard is not allowed in twilight,just got that confirm from our boss.
