Curious as to why people think CR didn't continue to thrive over the years? Is it just a life cycle of a forum?

Obviously our generations aged and life happens but why did the next generation not step in to fill those shoes? Was it really due to social media? I don't see Facebook replacing all that CR had to offer at one point. Are the younger generations not into cars the same way?

Never really thought of it all until now.

I just realized I've been here for 20 fucking years. Not a lot of activity the last few but I have been a member here for more than half of my life.

I would tell anyone to try Gliss line. You can cast a mile with this stuff, maybe just short of a mile, but you get what I mean. Super smooth retrieval. Strong like braid, but not thick. I feel everything with this line, and my hook sets and fish staying on, went up substantially from using mono line.

Looks like everything as advertised on my end. Here comes the tricky part. My schedule just got unexpectedly crazy. I have a short notice trip this week. I will be back Friday for a few hours before gearing up for Drill weekend. Then I will have a little time throughout the following week before I take off until end of May.

Do we want to do a one time pickup for everyone throughout the week or do you guys want to schedule when to meet with me?

Just this last year we had family that was basically given less than a year to live from Riverside due to being stage 4 and cancer throughout entire body. It has been 11 months since he started non chemo treatments at the James and is now 100% cancer free.

I have spent a lot of time this year scouting and very little time fishing. So far it is paying off because this is my first fish of the year at 5lbs 2oz. I'm scared its spoiling me for the season.

I never put in my order but I know I mentioned the lady fishoflage in an early post. I just could never make up my mind what to get then I went out and went through my rods/reels and have 9 set ups so I really didn't need any. If you did order the fishoflage though I'll pay you for it. Basically just making sure I don't owe you money but if I do it's not a big deal. The offer was tempting and I'm a little disappointed I didn't order a few at those prices......I just really don't need them.

I did not. I went through really fast and ordered all of the ones I replied to guys with an price who said they wanted them.

Chris, I think you said the order comes in sometime in May, maybe June? If it works out, I could offer a CR pick up and test day at my house. This would streamline you not having to meet several different times with people, and let them try out their new gear on the pond here.

 

I'm not exactly close to everyone, New Albany/ Johnstown area, but it may be an option to consider.

Unless something is currently out of stock, I suspect to receive delivery before end of next week. I'm down for a group meet and test though. 2 weeks or so from now? I will hear back from them today in regards to stock or if there is a shortage on something. I ordered 48 pieces of product so there is a lot to go through.

Is the gliss line more like a braid or like Berkley nanofil

Nanofil has great casting distance bit doesn't hold up to the abrasions like braid (suffix832 or power pro)

It does not have the abrasion resistance. I have heard it compares to nonofil but guys have preferred the gliss.

Can you get me the price on one Bolt 1000 and one C-Force 1000?

Bolt 1000- $50.00

CForce 1000- $60.00

So what are the big differences between the Bolt and the C-Force 1000's? I am really considering picking up 2 reels. Can you elaborate on the differences and get me a price?

The main difference between the two is the carbon fiber and the weight difference. The 1000 is different in the rest though as it has felt drag system instead of the carbon fiber on 2 and 3000.
