The Chardon HS shooting was done with a .22 handgun.

Id say it was pretty effective at killing.

My thought based on the studies I have read is that a higher powered round with defensive loads will be more likely to disable the BG quicker with few shots. A .22 can still easily kill but a determined BG may not recognize he is dead for several seconds or minutes.

Im just confused how cases like this even get to trial. Seems like it should have been dismissed much earlier.

Everyone keeps bringing up the size of the droid screen. It's getting ridiculous that their only selling point is a big screen. I like my iPhone because it's "phone sized". If I wanted something to read books on or watch movies I'll bring my iPad thank you. I don't want to be asked "is that a droid in your pocket or are you happy to see me?"

The "Retina Display" is not all that impressive. It is basically the same resolution as most of android phones just on a smaller screen. And some of the newest android phones have even better resolution.

I have not used an Iphone yet but we do have an Ipad (first gen). I still prefer the android system. Apple is still being political about supporting Flash and they make you jump through hoops or just prevent you from doing things I expect to be able to do on a "computer".

Maybe it because I grew up with DOS and then moved to Unix/Linux but I expect to be able to move/copy a "file". Apple tries to pretend that files do not exist.

Jeni's is made exclusively with Snowville milk from Athens, OH, which a majority of Giant Eagle's and possibly some Krogers are carrying around here. Maybe even you godless heathens in Cleveland and Cincy have it by now.

Yeah, it's more expensive than the regular stuff and it goes bad a little faster, but I swear it tastes 10x better than the normal factory farm, 100% corn-fed stuff. Also, Snowville doesn't homogenize their milk so the fat is still intact and tastes fucking delicious. You can take a gallon of their whole milk and churn out your own butter since nobody screwed with the natural fat, which all you SHTF'ers might want to pay some attention to for your stockpiles.

Ive been enjoying Hartzler and Snowville Farms milk for a number of years here in Cleveland. Hartzler is also non-homogenization and comes in your traditional returnable glass jug.

Heinen's has alway been pretty good about carrying a number of locally produced foods.

Ofcourse I grew up drinking the stuff straight from my grandfathers farm. I never lost the habit of shaking the milk jug before pouring.

Ninja 650R and Versys share an engine (parallel twin)

As does the DL650 Vstrom and SV650 (V twin)

Similar bikes in alot of ways. SV and Ninja are more sporty while the Versys and Vstrom are taller more upright. All are pretty good for comfortable ergonomics and good fuel economy. The DL is probably the hardest to find for a great deal but I dont think any would be wrong for your application.

Less common but similar bikes on the same platform is the Gladius and ER6N naked standards.

Also look at GSX650F.

Everything is negotiable is a real estate transaction. If you do not have your own Realtor then the sellers realtor stands to make double commission. Why not get some of it back.

However if you are shopping for homes get a realtor. They will work for you but be paid out of the sale. You can do alot yourself, but it easier for a realtor to get in to see houses are find out about potential places for you.

I've met a lot of really nice pitbulls for that matter. All of them that I've met have a great temperament, but I wouldn't want to be around when instinct kicks in, that's all. Instinct > behavior.

Pick up the MadStad windshield bracket and spend a couple hours adjusting the snot out of it, a half inch at a time. :-) Once you get it just right, it will be SO much better.

You could also pick up the Givi windshield if you find your current windshield and a Madstad bracket aren't doing it for you. I have both and at 5'8" find them to be a great combo on my WeeStrom.

+1 On the Madstad. I actually have a couple positions I use depending on the circumstances.

I have the stock screen and find that full up and forward provides good wind protection. Its best on the freeway or during the winter.

Full down a half back provides the the least buffeting with plenty of air flow for slower speeds and hotter days.

Most of the positions I have tried in between result in horrible helmet buffeting. However everyone seems to be different.

I think the full up and forward position would benefit me with a little larger screen but I have been too cheap so far.

Most vodka (and easily 80%+ of the really popular stuff) is fermented grain, not potato. If you want a decent potato vodka that's not eleventy billion dollars, go for Luksusowa.

Fun fact about the ZOMG popular vodkas: The vast majority of them start off as 90% or so "grain neutral spirits" sold by big agro firms like Archer Daniels Midland or ConAgra. Their customer (Skyy, for example) dilutes the spirits down to the proper level and bottles. If you want good vodka, get it from a place that actually does the distilling on their own. I know there's a place in the Columbus Short North that makes their own, it's Middle West Spirits or bottled under OYO. Excellent stuff, and they do pretty bitchin tours.

Yeap, an amazing business plan. Buy bulk spirits, dilute with water, add flavoring, package in a cool bottle and come up with some good marketing. Then rake in the dough.

Maybe there are some good vodkas, but when the main point of the product is to be tasteless, Im not really interested. The only clear liquid I drink is water.

Both are Vstroms. Only the DL650 gets the nickname WeeStrom.

The bike pictured above is a DL1000. As mentioned you can tell because there are 2 exhausts, the DL650 has a RHS exhaust only.

Commuting is my primary miles. I just use the bike for any transportation where I don't have to transport the kid. Sure beats driving in a car everyday.

Keep the bike. The SV is a great bike and it's not likely you will end up ahead selling now and buying again next year.

However occasionally I skip the pants on my commute. I prefer to wear them but my choices are a water proof pair of over pants or a mesh pant that I cant fit over my work clothes. When its hot the over pants are too sweaty and Id have to change at work for the others. Luckily my commute is fairly short and at modest speeds. Still I know jeans wont help much at 40mph.

I ride an `04 DL650. Mostly its used to commute but occasionally get some long rides in. Dirt roads and twisties are both fun. Have not had much chance to ride off road.

The dual sport and adventure bikes will feel roomier for a long legged person, though if you are flexible then sportbikes can also work.

Id still look for a small used bike. Buy the one that fits and you can get a good deal on. Ride it for 5-10k miles and then decide which direction you want to go. Used Nighthawks, TU250X, Ninja250, XT225, KLR250, or even a Rebel. All are pretty much standards and usually available for cheap. These are all easy to ride and very forgiving. Once you've ridden one for a while then a larger bike will not seem nearly as intimidating.

Buy a used 250 or whatever you're comfortable. Figure out what you want by riding and learning. Then sell for what you paid for it when you're ready for THE bike.

Excellent advice. Buying a used bike is inexpensive and you can likely sell it in a year for nearly what you paid.

The 200-250cc bikes are all light and easy to ride and are a good place to start. I rode a Ninja250 for a year before getting my Vstrom. I really like the Ninja but the Vstrom is more comfortable for me.

I'm taking the rider course in August, need ideas on a bike for when I'm finished. Open for all suggestions! I sat on the Cbr 250, I didn't like, I felt like I was on a midget bike, no offense to those who have one, I felt like I was too tall/long legged for it. Sat on the Rebel 250 and it seemed fine, although not sure if Id want to stick with a cruiser. Not looking for speed. I rather have my speeding fix in a pony car.

Also, what is really the difference in riding a Cruiser vs. Sportbike?

Interesting I felt just the opposite. I feel like Im sitting on the ground when I sit on a Rebel or GZ250 and my knees are almost in the handlebars. The Ninja 250 and and CBR250R fell much more real sized. However the dual sports fit me best. I really want a WR250R but XT250/225 and KLX250S are also nice bikes.

Ofcourse I'm 6'2 and like to hit dirt roads or the occasional off road.

Ive been to the Valleyview event once. But I see the bikes riding there all the time. My office is about 2 miles up the street from QSL.

It is a huge collection of a variety of bikes. Ofcourse HDs are the majority but the old classics are cool. Especially the ratbikes that look to be held together by wire and duct take.

you don't modify your car too much

you are statistically a good driver (not having lots of minor dings scratches, etc)

bad:

you like to mod your cars

you drive a lot of miles

you keep cars a long time

do your own maintenance

personally I don't see it being a good fit for you, you're going to get hosed as soon as you pull of the lot regardless, i think you should stick to finding smoking deals on used ones, you're good at it.

Its a good deal if you want to be driving a new car every 3 years. Especially if you buy "nice" cars. Buying new every 3 will cost you alot. There are some good deals on leases.

However I prefer to drive a car for 10+ years. My total cost is going to be less even if I buy new.

If you dont mind or prefer buying used then that is usually the best option.
