To answer Todd's question: I took the painter's intention to be to remind the viewer of Christian influences on the US and that he believes that those "Christian Beliefs" which founded are country have been lost and need to be freshened up again. I guess that's just my interpretation, but it's nothing for you two to go at it about. We're all entitled to our opinions so lets all except they're different and enjoy this piece of art.

I'm a Christian whose also a FIRM believer in the separation of church and state.... So, I'm not as crazy about the idea of it, but this guy's awesome for the pure masterful execution of something he really believes in. I can at the very least appreciate the artistry that went into that painting!
