True, the SKS is a better made rifle over there AK's... I decided to take my mad money for fire arms to upgrade my AR's and maybe my 870 if the cash lasts and snag more ammo as I see it. So far 3 magpul BAD levers and trigger guards. Over 20 years of training on the AR and I gotta say that part realy speeds up reloads. If I can master it. Looking at optics for 2 of them. Ebay bidding and hard core researching specs on the parts I'm looking at. I'm betting on the "scare" ending at some point and ammo can be obtained. If not, I'll grab what is in arms reach and run that. My daughter on her second tour has me setting up an AR for her too. And a Colt 70 series that's gonna get chopped up to her liking. Damn.... I thought the bikes were expensive....

PM me if you have a starting offer.

What sucks is to me they are a $300 turd of a rifle. To see them going for a grand or more makes me want to vomit. It's a brave new world.
-
Now, I haven't owned an AK for over a decade, but with ammo the way it is I may be open to the idea of a battle rifle in a cartage other than 5.56. Any of you have a line on any of these rifles?

EMINEM..... Really? Long live Black History Month.

http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4511.21 Unless traffic laws are way different in Vegas, This is the OHIO law. Bottom line is this would be a traffic violation to the trailing vehicle in motion that struck the vehicle in front in motion, slowing or stopped. Hell, I even showed the vid to a OSP Trooper. He said Police cruiser is at fault. BUT.... What Happens in Vegas....
-
Oh Vegas officer was a Captain? That explains the asshole he's being..... Seriously, this guy needs punished severely for what he did. He's clearly at fault. I bet id it was one of HIS subordinate patrol guys he would nail then to the wall just to show them that he's the big boss dickhead. I know mine would if I was ever so stupid. If I ever get in any type of traffic accident on duty in a Sheriff's cruiser we have a policy to follow. It requires us to immediately put it "over the air" to radio dispatch and they sent us State Highway who does the report. It's happened to several guys I work with. If the Deputy was at fault and he did break a traffic law he got a ticket. Period. I can't tell you how wrong this fuckstick was. Pisses me off that he would act that way to someone HE RAN INTO!!! .... OK, It's the first day of my weekend.... I need a drink after that.

As sad as it is I could live with $0.50 a a round ammo. all I'm finding local is $0.80 and up! My big issue right now is finding a bolt group for my deployed daughters build. She just spent another $650 on her final upgrades, FDE furniture, EOTech, GG&G quick release all that on top off all the other money she dumped into it. Glad we started the build before the scare. I'll be on the phone hunting for the bolt Monday.

I raided my shop. I found a bolt carrier. It's a full auto but it's chrome and my look cool in the new 20" I built. SO....IF I find a bolt, firing pin, retaining pin and the other assorted parts I may be ok. I have a bunch of spares in a box, but, go figure, I can't find it for the life of me. Somewhere in my unheated shop hidden among thousands of motorcycle parts I spent the last hour searching though and I'm now freezing. I think I had an MP marked bolt complete but I think I remember giving it away a couple years ago (like a moron) to my former spotter who whined and begged for it to finish a rifle he had.
-
This is completely UN-SAT. I jacked one out of a "spare" rifle to put her's in service. The hunt continues.

Awesome. I so need heat in my shop.

I have caught up on all of the AR builds with one exception, My 20 y/o daughter's carbine. She's currently deployed in the sand box but I still want this done ASAP. I'm picking up the FDE SOP Mod stock and pistol grip tomorrow. All of my normal places I order parts are "out of stock" and "no back order". Oh I did get offered one for the BARGAIN price of $375!!! Any of you got any contacts for the BCG's?

God's speed, Sniper. Words are hard found on this. Some of the most important moments on a sniper team were comunicated by a boot tapping on mine or an elbow on my ribs. Maybe the most relaxing moments of my life were in that moment after I dump my breath and hold and that moment where I heard "send it." from the man next to me. I was never closer to any man. My Heart goes out to Cheif Kyle's wife and children.

My nerves are only overcome by my pride in my daughters. This is a photo from befor oldests first depoyment with her younger sis who is now active duty... And oldest last time in country with SF... What makes this all even more weird is the got a baby sister who's turning 6... Her on this last Christmass morning... Maybe this is all my fault?!

Wishing calm wind and good visibility. God's speed, Sniper.

Well here I go again. My oldest, an E4 promotible, in an SF group in Intell deploys again tomorrow. Still strange to see a female soldier with a Special Forces Combat Patch. Even more so when its your kid. She's supposed to make Sergeant 1 March. Then enter the Problem Child.... My 18 yo duaghter. Been in troubles from the time she was 14. Fought with Mom and Dad for years. Moved out with a boy friend in the middle of the nite. Couple months pass. Moved back. Said her "sorries" after a trip to visit her big sister at FT Bragg. And tells us she inlisted for 6 years active duty Army....????? She left a week ago and in reception battalion as I type. Gonna be a drone opperator and now has SF "contacts" because she met Group Command Sergent Major at Bragg and may be "diverted" to Airborne then to Group with big sis if she makes it threw training. She called me and said "Dad! Are you gonna call your buddy at SORB (Special Operations Recruiting Battalion) for me like you did for Nicole?"..... (sigh) ........... And to add to the creepy she said "I love you" first time since she was 12. First one I almost expected. My most recent "Private" is still catching me off guard. Oh well, Like I said, here I go again. Go Army Airborne

I used to have a few of those back in the day. I think I traded a poncho liner for a few from some Canadian Paratrooper. They did'nt work great so I gave them away....duh. -
This is all getting real depressing. The days of "private sales" may be over. I see the need for the background checks, yes. I still fear a "list of owners". History of that and all.

It seems that I'll be on hold for 5.56 and .223 for a while. I'm OK for now but its going to mean a lot less training on the rifles this year. Glad I got the Colt .22 M4 a couple months ago. DAMN! I need 980 rounds just to top off mags.... Looks like a lot of .22 this year.
