If passenger friendly is what you want I would go for something with a longer wheelbase and a lot of torque like a Hayabusa, ZX14, or VFR1200. With all of that torque you'll forget the passenger is there.
-
I hope to get involved in a few rides this year.
-
Welcome. I started out on a Kat also. Great bikes for all day cruising.
-
I can't believe that there were no bids for the ZX10!

I call BS on that 153. Did you see where they were at? No one in their right fucking mind would touch even 120 on that road. That laser gun is jank. 96 is believable, 153 is not. Do these people realize what 150+ mph even looks like or how much ground you're covering at that speed.
That sounds like a challenge.
-
If I passed a cop at that speed I'd go over a hill or around a turn, do a quick stop, hear the sirens and start flying the other direction. Then take as many detours as possible for a while.

When I'm not riding and enjoying the 1125R's sound I guess i could throw in some Erik Buell and the Thunderbolts.

Here's some test results. Looks like Trend Micro and Kaspersky are pretty good. For some reason Norton isn't in there. LOL

Actually compared to cars no they don't. Consider how much more a car weighs and how much more wind it pushes. The mileage bikes get should be twice what it is, at least.
I tend to get around 30 mpg.

I think I may head down and hit a few of those routes from www.motorcycleroads.us

Just wanted to warn everyone. Just when we thought the law against texting while driving was going to save us from the crazy cagers. Watch out for people reading novels while driving.

Mission Motors has a pretty sweet machine. 100 ft/lb of torque from 0-150mph.
-
IDK about your bikes, but on my XX, I barely notice passengers. For spirited riding, it's a little more sluggish; but for normal rides, no real difference.
Honestly, I haven't had a passenger on the 1125R. If I was a chick, there's no way I'd get on the back of my bike, knowing the way I ride.
-
Passengers mess up the weight distribution and handling. I left my passenger pegs on just in case a really hot chick wants to put her boobs on my back and I know that there's no chance she's going to let me touch them with my hands later. Otherwise, I agree with everyone else. Get her a bike. You both will have more fun.

Thanks for the compliment. I love it! I ordered an integrated tail, and I'm looking at some small detachable saddlebags. It's taken me a bit to get used to the additional amount of feedback (relative to my previous bikes), but now I love the ability to just feel exactly what the tires are doing.

I've never rode a cruiser, so I'm kind of looking forward to Demo Days this year. After test riding the 1125R at Demo Days, last year, I was sold.

I love the Flight of the Conchords!

The government wouldn't do the drug tests because it wouldn't be in their best interest.
I've heard that U.S. Soldiers are actually protecting the Opium.

Kind of reminds me of that $73,000,000 Rothko painting.

Here's a sport tourer, lowered 3-inches.

It may need some saddlebags.

This isn't "katana pride" on my part but a guy I work with claimed he went 175 mph on a 94 katana 1100. I of course didn't believe him so I did some research. Turns out the speedo only went upto 110 on those. I love liars especially when they have no clue what they are talking about and trying to be cool.
The 1100 should go at least 150.
-
I had a 96 Katana 600. I got it pretty cheap. It was a lot of fun, and IMHO it is a great first motorcycle.

Encryption is the name of the game; hidden partitions especially.
http://www.truecrypt.org/
Virtual machines that can get can be reset everyday back to a clean image after the downloaded files are moved to a hidden partition.

Using vulnerability assessment tools to keep network and home computers safe will be especially important.

And of course if you're surfing for torrents or music files start with something anonymous and secure (https) and use a proxy.

And naturally, you'll need a good antivirus suite to check the downloaded files.

Of course, this is just hypothetical, because I would never pirate music or movies.
