  1. I would not use drag radials as a daily tire, that will not end well. They will not deal well with high amounts of water, trust me. Buy some cheap spare rims to mount them on for track use.
  2. If you want them to stick, Mickey Thompson is the only way to go. I used BFG Drag Radials since the car saw street duty with them on and they lasted a while and worked well.
  3. There will be a post I'm sure where people are meeting up for Good Guys at some point.

  8. The downside to this new lens, less throw away pictures Got a ton more to edit :fuckyeah: We had a great time and hope to go back up to Mid Ohio again. I love getting out and checking out all kinds of racing. Thanks to Wes for the pass. First gallery up and still have about 300 still to go though that the wife took: http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Mid-Ohio-Vintage-Pictures/i-PqSVpzM/0/L/IMG_9959-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Mid-Ohio-Vintage-Pictures/i-CKXCXjx/0/L/IMG_9961-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Mid-Ohio-Vintage-Pictures/i-rbQxXtS/0/L/IMG_9981-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Mid-Ohio-Vintage-Pictures/i-WhkNN45/0/L/IMG_9964-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Mid-Ohio-Vintage-Pictures/i-r8TRzft/0/L/IMG_9965-L.jpg
  9. There is only one place in Ohio that I would go to for Pontiac only stuff http://www.dcimotorsports.com Don's a good guy, I was supposed to work with him on some stuff before HPP folded.
  10. Tamron 2.8 VC 70-200 lens is pretty bad ass. I call this lens "the beast" A few slight tweaks to this in Lightroom, but I'm very pleased with this glass purchase. Wait until I post the Mid Ohio pics... http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Jareds-Day-Of-Thunder/i-QBCZzCT/0/L/IMG_9001-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Jareds-Day-Of-Thunder/i-Dhqmfw2/0/L/IMG_9022-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Jareds-Day-Of-Thunder/i-9CqkMLW/0/L/IMG_9034-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Jareds-Day-Of-Thunder/i-5P5ctsM/0/L/IMG_9057-L.jpg
  11. BUT HE READ IT ON REDIT SO IT MUST BE TRUE!
  12. Those rig shots are amazing. If I knew I could recoup the cost I would really think about getting one.
  13. If you end up needing a repair or want someone to look at it let me know. I have a friend who builds and repairs foundations. He has helped me and another CR person (Lt1rick). He will be blunt with you and has no desire to give you the basement doctor fingerbang. I will say there are no cheap solutions to these types of issues. My home inspector missed some issues and now I get to be fucked, its a great feeling...
  14. If you need anything let me know, Leanne and I can try to help. I actually might have a guy who can help with the block repair.
  15. I will have to ask, they did not say (kind of upset over the deal) but it sounds like its inside.
  16. I have a friend tha is need of estimates on some stuff. They are doing some research and I thought that someone on CR might be able to help with this if they know of a contact. When they moved in to their home it had a lot of water problems in the backyard. The stairwell was never supported by the back door and always had water problems but they thought it was from the back door drain getting clogged from water flooding the backyard. After doing some tiling by the back door and removing the carpet, they found a major leak in the cinderblocks. Its split level house so the walls are "finished" sort of (wainscoting/drywall over the cinderblocks) They need someone to come give us an estimate to repair/resupport the wall and the lower level support along with wall Repair. Anybody have a someone they could call to come in and look at this?
  17. The_Buster just laid ALL of you out :lolguy:
  18. No timer in the car, that is a HUGE no-no and will get you banned for life from any track (Norwalk Dirty Dozen). You have to go off your instinct at the top end and based on what the person you are running is doing. I have done this before when I knew I had someone covered and made them break out. Its like playing chicken without hitting someone head on.
  19. That car made me giggle everytime it ran. The amount of blower surge on that car made it sound like a top fuel dragster and the driver beats on that car like he hates it.
  20. Bracket and index racing both have 2 very imporant parts: Cutting your light (reaction time) and how you "play the stripe" or finish line. When you set your dial in for the pass you need to give yourself a little wiggle room to slow down or speed up based on what your car is doing and what the person you are racing is doing. That is why you will here guys on and off the gas at the top end, or really on the brakes. In this case the silver car (Biondo) got to leave first since his index is a bit slower. He had a really good reaction time, so that puts even more pressure on Fletcher to cut a good light to be able to catch him down track. Well, fletcher did not cut a good light and had to stay in it a lot longer than he wanted. He tried to stay in it longer to get Biondo to stay in the run longer and break out (run quicker than your dial in and that's how you loose in bracket racing). Well Biondo being the stone cold killer he is just kept doing his thing, fletcher realized he was fucked, stood on the brakes, and about wrecked both cars. Does that make sense? There is a whole lot more to bracket racing than just mashing the gas, you have to know your car and be able to drive it.
  21. I shot this car while I as doing race coverage. It has taken FOREVER to get all the information but finally got it done. Super nice family that loves to go racing http://www.dragzine.com/features/car-features/ron-clarks-outrageous-bugzilla-blown-radial-tire-vw-bug/
  22. Its a big time no-no to dump that hard at the big end, for this very reason. I've seen a few close close like this and seen people get thrown out even after winning. Anytime something bad happens at the top end there is a huge amount of luck needed to keep something from going really bad. You guess right, get some luck, (like this guy) and things end ok.
  23. Yeah, from what I read he got a light strapped on him by Biondo (another legend and amazing racer) and tried to play games with him at the top end. He went to dump at the top end and the car just locked up on him. He still got on it a bit late and I bet Dan busted his ass back at the trailer. When I was up at Norwalk at the D3 race I saw both the Fletcher's just CRUSH people at both ends of the track. When it comes to racing stock and super stock these guys are some of the best.
  24. .... at the drag strip at the top end. I've seen "new" cars do the same thing but not this bad.
  25. Some shots the wife and I took a while back. My dad racing his car that used to belong to Monza from street outlaws. Right now we are in the process of negotiating a possible sale of the back to Jerry, or finding a way to get the car back on the show.. http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Asphalt-Warriors-5-24/i-bDtwNBW/0/L/IMG_6896-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Asphalt-Warriors-5-24/i-4d8V2gM/0/L/IMG_6909-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Asphalt-Warriors-5-24/i-2Nv27ZC/0/L/IMG_5312-L.jpg http://waggz.smugmug.com/Cars/Asphalt-Warriors-5-24/i-mKx6t5F/0/L/IMG_5454-L.jpg full gallery
