  1. Yes, that's me. I have been racing expert for 2 years and then just 1 round in '09 because of finances. I finally qualified for my AMA license and then they changed the rules and said I'm too old for Supersport:rolleyes:
  2. I know it's hard to believe, but I'm very easy on my equipment. You can ask the guys I rode with out there and verify if you want to. There will be a little bit of a speedo error in it because I was down 1 tooth in the front and up 1 in the rear. I hardly ever have to buy tires. They just last me a long time.
  3. The 100 laps was probably about half practice laps and half race laps. I told you, I'm a freak of nature when it comes to my tires. Those laps weren't my fastest but that was hanging with most of the expert group in Middleweight Superbike, Supersport, and GP classes. So it's not like I took it easy on them.
  4. Stoner Holsters (at the local Bill Goodman's gun show) was the only palce I found an in-the-waist holster for my Glock because it's a full-size. It's a leather one that broke in very nicely and I am very happy with it. When I find the card they gave me I'll post the info for you to give them a call and see if they make one for your sidearm.
  5. I don't know the model number. It's not the largest 1911 style. It's the one just smaller. It's my brother's but I have it while he's in Italy. The problems with it are continuous jams. Mostly with loading the new round. The load ramp has been polished and worked a bit but I still had usually 1 round for every magazine fired, sometimes 2 magazines, that would catch on the load ramp. And the spent casings would stove pipe pretty regularly in the ejection port. I've never had a single failure with my Glock so to me the Kimber is just inferior. My brother swears by it but he hasn't compared it to my Glock yet.
  6. I have the same rifle. I haven't even sighted it in yet. I would love to learn how to re-load especially with the cost of ammo these days. I can't say I've been shooting for very long so I still have a lot to learn. But I need to learn some things from guys like you that know what you're talking about:D
  7. Hwilli, I have a Glock 21SF (slim frame model) that I'm taking out shooting on the 20th. You're more than welcome to come along and check it out to see how if handles and try out a composite gun to get an idea if it's something you might want to try. It's the full size .45 and I have no problems carrying it concealed. It's not the best for it, I'd prefer to get the mid-size version for concealed carry but it's still pretty easy to hide with an in-the-waist holster. I also have a Kimber 1911 and honestly I think it's a pile. I won't even pick it up now. But again, if you would like to try it out to get a better idea of what you want you're more than welcome to go shooting with us.
  8. Yeah, mileage is a big thing to consider in buying a tire. I honestly don't know why I get so many miles out of a tire because it's not like I fall way behind everyone while riding. I think it's all in how you accelerate from a stop and brake. Heck I was running a set of Power Race (C front and D rear) race take-off's and I still had over 4000 street miles on them plus the 100 race laps and they still had a lot left in them. I just switched them out for regular street tires when I moved here figuring the street tires would be better than race tires in the rain.
  9. I'm sure I'll be taking you up on that offer e-flores. I'm already liking it here a lot. It's definitely different than Phoenix. But I lived there for 30 years so I was ready for a new adventure in life. I have a feeling the humidity this summer will be harder to handle than the snow though.
  10. Tire debates are always loads of fun:D First off, any tire can be good for one rider and suck for another. It depends on riding style and habits. Personally, I hated the Bridgestone BTO-14 tires that I tried. I didn't like the profile (too flat to really get leaned over and still have a good contact patch. I have ALWAYS loved the Michelin Pilot Power. I have never tried the 2CT version but I'm sure it's even better than the original. They have amazing grip and a good profile that gave me good contact patches while putting a knee down. They were awesome on the track and great on the street too. Now most people say I'm lying when I tell them the mileage I got out of them, but my friends always tell me I'm a freak of nature when it comes to the milage I get out of any tire. I got 17,500 miles and 5 trackdays out of the front and 13,500 out of the rear. And half of those miles were done on my RC51 and then my GSXR 600. I got even better mileage out of Dunlop 208 23,000 front and 18,000 rear but I hated the grip and profile characteristics compared to the Pilot Powers. I did try out a set of Dunlop 218s not too long ago and was pleasently surprised with the grip they gave me both on street and track but still didn't like the profile too much because they were still too flat for me which made for more effort to get the bike all the way over. If all you're doing is street riding most tires will work fine, there are just some that may work better than others depending on your riding style and what you really need that tire to do.
  11. Thanks everyone! I think I'm adjusting to the snow pretty well considering I'm a desert rat. I actually love the winter so far with the only exception being that I can't ride. I see that there are quite a few shooters here too. I need to find where the good places are to shoot. In Phoenix you just drive a little ways outside of the city and set up almost anywhere but I don't think we can do that here.
  12. Hi everyone, I figured I would introduce myself to let you all know the basics about me. I just moved to Miamisburg from Phoenix in October. This is my first time living anywhere other than Phoenix so yeah, it's a bit of a shock. But a good one:D I'm a bodyman/painter and used to have my own motorcycle only bodyshop out there. I merged it with another business and when the economy took a dump I got laid off and moved here to be with my fiance. I am a sport rider and have been racing for the last few years with Roadrace SW/ CCS out in Phoenix. My RC51 street bike was stolen awhile back so now my AMA Supersport CBR 600RR is my daily driver. At least when the roads aren't covered in snow and ice. I don't know where the good riding spots are out here yet so I'm sure I'll be tagging along on rides when the weather is better to learn where the good places are.
