  1. I HATE this type of advice....:nono:

Your bike does not care which way your nose is pointed. You can look left, right, even turn your head to look behind you, and turn the bike in any direction you want, during any of those actions. 99% of your steering "at speed" is done with the bars, steer left, you go right, steer right, you go left... nothing more, nothing less

I thought it was really strange advice too, but it really did help me. When I first started riding I did not look through the curve/turn, and I was looking too close in front of me. Someone on here told me to look where I wanted to go. It forced me to keep my head and eyes up, even at really slow speeds. I noticed that those that were struggling in the class were watching their front tire or a few feet in front of the bike. As a new rider, I found it very helpful.

  2. I just started riding this year, and finished the BRC last week. One thing that really helped me with leaning into curves was looking where I want the bike to go. They repeatedly told us in the class to point your nose where you want the bike to end up, and I was amazed at how much it made a difference. It wasn't natural at first, but the more I did it, the more I realized how effective it is.

I am sure she will learn a lot at the class, and at least she will already know what she wants to work on when she gets there. Good luck!

  3. I finished the MSF class last week, and went today to get my new license. I thought the lady at my class told us that our new license would say M-Novice for the first year, indicating I am required to wear my helmet. After the first year, she said I could go have it removed. My new license does not say Novice. Anyone know if it was an error at the BMV, or if I misunderstood what the lady told me in class?

  4. Great times. Hope everyone enjoyed the band, thanks for coming down cheering us on, and making us feel good. We are already looking forward to next year. :)

I have some pics of you guys playing, and my husband got some video with our HD cam. I will try to get the pics up for you soon. Great show!

  5. fun times. Lots of cool stuff. finally got some OR shirts even though we were to late to get mediums :) I think my niece liked the bike painting area a lot.

She certainly did! And the tattoos! :D

  6. Clair " I was pregnant with Haley"

    Phil "My Baaad"

Phil and Luke are really funny. The one episode when Phil's Dad came to visit and Luke basically took on the role of the dog and at the end he was chasing the RV was probably one of the best episodes with him. Phil is the funniest in my opinion on the show but the show in general is great.

    Agreed, Phil is the funniest.
