  1. Pulled into a Harley dealership on my Yamaha and as I was parking, grabbed too much front brake in the turn and dropped the bike right in front of the big giant glass window. On a Saturday afternoon. Picked it up, and too embarrassed to just pull away, so I walked into the dealership. Amazingly, no one would talk to me. So I left.
  2. I wanted to be out there this weekend but my truck keeps breaking. Dammit. Looks like I missed the good weather weekend this year.
  3. Thanks Nathan, for the Pitbull stand! Just what the doctor ordered!
  4. Looks like the doc cut that for whatever reason. The area around it looks like it was disinfected before the cuts were made. EKG leads still stuck to him too. Maybe he wasn't dead in the street right away?
  5. Welcome new girl! This is from before you were born, but it still applies, so take a look at it between sammich classes. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/flashback/122_0911_the_pace_nick_ienatsch/
  6. Exciting racing today. Rossi was fun to watch on that Yammi.
  7. My daughter is getting married at the end of the year, so I figured this year I would try and drop some weight. To that end, I got lucky getting a slot in the Marine Corps Marathon this year. Never have run one before but I have done a half once, so this should be interesting. For decades, I did bodybuilding workouts, doing different body parts every day, and when I was still in the Marines, that was fine because that's just what we did. But for years after I got out, the question in the back of my head was always "What I am I doing this for?" The health aspect, of course, but for what purpose? Its not like I EVER wanted to strap on a speedo and pose. I wanted something more functional, that combines more flexibility, endurance and useful strength. So this year I think I am going to give crossfit a try. I have a respectable home gym, and I just picked up a Concept 2 rower for crosstraining days when I take a break from running. There a few things I can't do but not many. And I can always substitute exercises. I can really tell how tight my muscles were and its taking a real effort to get more limber, but so far so good. These workouts are short but intense! I like that part. Its not for everyone for sure, and honestly I don't even know if its for me yet, but I'm going to give it a fair shot. I'll report back up when I look like a Greek God. You can hardly wait.
  8. Another Irish guy! Welcome!

    Hello

    :hello:Welcome dude!
  10. You do. We file separate so I can itemize employee business expenses and the 2% floor is lower, plus Ohio state tax screws you filing joint. Oh and, if you ever want to get rid of your wife, may I recommend a few episodes of Lockup Raw. That should even you out.
  11. I need a front stand for a BMW S1000RR. Would like the price for the pit bull steering stem stand and the fork stand. Also race bodywork. Getting a late start on my projects.
  12. Nice upgrade dude. Those bikes are pretty.
  13. I had a softail once. The wife thought the Yammy FJR was more comfortable. Since it was primarily for 2 up riding, buh-bye to the Harley.
  14. Yup yup to the above. If you live in North Olmstead then Motoseries is probably the closest and easiest for you to get started on the track. They have a novice program where you will do some classes and then head out the track for some lead/follow with an instructor. Its a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it even if you never want to enter a race. Check out the motoseries website and it will tell you everything you need to know. They also have a message board like this one for any questions or just ask them here. Lots of people will be more than willing to help you get started.
  15. Congrats on the new certificate! Going to get your MEI too?
  16. According to Kevin, he had a proper credential. I don't know how these things work having never been an insider, but I would think that would be enough. Ahhhh.....business. Well, if it was strictly business, I would think if you are in the business of hosting races, you have to let the teams bring their support staff to the track. If the business at hand is not subject to the lawsuit, then it would seem that kicking a properly credentialed member of Blake's team off the track is something other than just business. And if you are going to do that, he should have never been given a credential in the first place.
  17. Good to know. I have been staring at the blue edges on my tires all winter. Will have to look this dude up before track season starts.
  18. I did Kevin's school at Indy last year, and my avatar picture is from there. A buddy of mine was doing it as well to write an article about it for his magazine and asked me if I wanted to do it with him, so I went. At the time, I knew Kevin's name and that he was a championship racer, but not much else. My personal impression of the man isn't really relevant, but all during the school, he was always approachable and seemed very even tempered. Like a guy without a care in the world. We did everything you would expect at a school, plus he took the time for pictures, autographs if you wanted one, made some barbecue, and hung out after the riding was over just like you would at a track day. He even gave me six laps of personal lead/follow after I got separated from my group for taking off without strapping up my helmet. Whoops. I don't know what the beef is with COTA, but according to Kevin's web page, he was there for the Attack team, with a proper credential, to coach Blake Young. Blake was also at the Indy school I attended doing laps and generally having fun interacting with the coaches and students in attendance for those two days. Now, to throw out Blake's coach could have an effect on Blake's performance in the race, and to me, that is taking it a step too far. Even if Kevin's advice can be gained from watching film, its an added distraction for one team, that the other teams don't have to deal with. COTA should have handled themselves differently, at least in a way that would minimize the impact to the Blake Young team.
  19. I was talking to a girl a couple days ago that was all pissed off she got a ticket for running her high beams full time. Had no clue that those lights were blinding to oncoming traffic.
  20. If you have DirecTV, there will be some kind of coverage on 620, some international sports channel. What happened to the Speed network?
  21. A buddy of mine publishes a bike rag and asked me to do a helmet review for him. The helmet was a Bell Star Carbon. Long story short I really liked the helmet and still use it today because my Arai is too old to pass tech for the track, but fit and finish go to the Arai's and Shoei's. don't get me wrong, I love the Bell Star Carbon, but if I was buying a new helmet, it would probably be one of the other brands. Mostly because I don't plan on crashing, so comfortable fit and finish are what matters most. As far as crash protection, I don't think you live through an Arai crash and die from a Bell crash. So for me, that's a push. It all comes down to what is the best helmet for every day. And my Arai was so comfy, I hardly knew I had it on for long rides. YMMV.
