  1. We ziplined there about three weeks ago. Great time. We had good guides (sorry, don't remember their names. Two guys in their mid-20's). Have heard great things about the Fort Ancient ziplines as well, and they're only about 20 minutes from me (vs. 2.5 hours for Hocking Hills).

Wished I'd taken my golf clubs along to HH. Nice little course...

  2. Okay, small chance, but can anyone offer insight? Scoured the web for forums and such for these bikes, didn't find anything helpful. Kickstand switch has been removed, and the wires connected. QUestion: Three wires down there. Two green, and a yellow w/ a stripe. The greens are connected, but yellow is not. Should it be? Can't tell if it used to be bundled in the crimper with the greens or not, but length indicates that it could've been.

Can't get the thing started....or even to turn over.

    Thx

  3. Couple things: We live near a large Marathon distribution center (big white tanks above ground and all that) in Lebanon. We see all of the tanker trucks coming and going, and they are from a multitude of companies, not just Marathon. I've heard that it "all comes up in the same pipeline, but some companies add a little of this or a little of that to their particular taste". Dunno, I'm not a fuel guy.

Secondly, I've had great luck with Marathon fuel (completely unrelated to being near the depot. There's a Marathon about a mile from the depot, on 122, that charges the same as everyone else). We used BP for years, religiously. I switched to Marathon exclusively, and my work car (Mazda 3) went from 25 mpg religiously to 27-28mpg. Same driving, nothing else changed.

I think that as long as you're buying from a station that has a reasonable amount of business, the fuel in their tanks is getting rotated enough that it shouldn't be an issue. A mom and pop shop out in the holler may give you problems, but when you're out there, you're probably out of options anyhoo.

I don't like buying race fuel at the beginning of the season because in my mind, its been sitting in the tank collecting moisture all winter.

  4. See? Who says Obama can't accomplish anything? Technically qualified for the position (maybe), but experience-wise, uhhhhmmmm, nope. He doesn't have a clue. He can dictate, but seems unable to problem-solve or make a decision. Clueless like Carter, but trying (and unable) to let polling dictate, like Clinton. I "hope" we survive this "change". :kneel:

  5. 44% approval yesterday, 42% today. Not necessarily related to this story, but still...

I'm not interested in seeing both sides of the story anymore. He lies and deceives, and his media lets him do it. He IS what Bush was ACCUSED of being. Fascist, liar, warmonger. Don't get me wrong, Bush did some less than desirable things, but not with the complete contempt and disregard which Obama has for this great country.

Progressive = socialist. Socialism doesn't work. Never has, never will. He's trying to break this country financially. I pray that we survive the next five months. 11/02/10, my friends. 11/02/10.

  6. Bam Bam,

"They can cross the border and visit any place in Mexico". Okay. So Mexico KNOWS they're in the country. They're not opening the gateway on their borders, especially not to "just Guatemalans". They're controlling who comes across their borders.

OPEN BORDERS is part of the effort to merge Canada, USA, and Mexico into one country.

What exactly do Canada and Mexico bring to the table? Why in the world would we want to become one with those countries?

I will never be ashamed or apologize for being an American. American by birth, Texan by the grace of God. I don't believe that all countries are equal. I believe that America is great because it was founded by brilliant men with (for the most part) a belief in God. The ones who weren't strong believers didn't slight those who were. Open borders with another country will not accomplish anything good for America. We used to be able to go down to Laredo, walk across the bridge, and spend the day in Mexico. No longer. Its a warzone, like Juarez. Its not a good place, and letting that spill over into our country doesn't benefit us at all. Calderon wants to open the borders because his folks will come here, work, then send most of their money back to Mexico. Its a win-win for Mexico, and a lose-lose for us (except for employers exploiting cheap labor). What did I read? Phoenix is #2 in kidnappings now?

Obama needs to stop apologizing for America. He needs to stop people like Calderon when they stand on the White House lawn and denigrate America. If you still refuse to see the "real Obama", his staff, and their agenda to "change" America, its because you don't want to see what he's doing.

    It ain't good.

  7. Why is healthcare considered a "right"? Its a service. NOBODY in this country is denied needed healthcare. Nobody. Do the hospitals want to get paid for services they provide, and can they be aggressive about it? Yep. Do YOU work for free? At all? On a large scale? And don't get me started on anchor babies....

The Bible tells us what is happening, and how it will likely end up.

Re: "the middle": people are paying more attention. The Left thinks all media is biased to the right, and The Right thinks just the opposite (though neutral studies have shown which way the bias seems to lean, factually). The Right says we're a "center-right" country, and (of course) The Left says we're all "center-left".

I'm new here, and have never met any of you, but I think Casper is someone I could have a beer with....

They just said "change". Never said it was going to be good for the country...

  8. Dubguy, Make sure to come up and say "Hi". I'll have a clapped-out two stroke with white & orange bodywork with a red and black tank. Green avalanche tow vehicle.

Track days: I had no idea that track days could be so reasonable ($100, $125, etc), and I didn't blink at the $175. When I ran WERA years and years ago, a weekend would cost me notably more than that, so it didn't seem too unreasonable. Good point about the extra fees associated with some of the schools/ groups, but if you ride with them a few times a year, it might minimize the difference, right?

We were in Indy a few weeks ago, and stopped in to Indy Ducati to see the owner. We were neighbors with them many years ago in another state. He mentioned their track day, and piqued my interest.

Will keep my eyes open in the future for OR days.

    Jeff, Lebanon-ish

  9. I couldn't make that weekend, I'm going camping with my son. Will keep my eyes open for future OR track days. I'm stoked but nervous, since I haven't been on a track in at least six years. I hear that sticking elbows out into the wind makes you faster.... GO SPIES!

    Jeff, Lebanon

  10. Sponsored by Indy Ducati, but they allow any bikes (I'm taking a Honda...). $175. Beginner, Intermediate, Expert. Track opens at 7am, tech starts 7:30, and first group should hit the track somewhere around 8:30 or 9am.

Call Indy Ducati to register at (317) 337-1098. Note: This is the Indy 500 weekend, so if you plan on hotelling it on Sat night, it may be a challenge.

    Jeff
