  1. I need me one of them moderating the moderator’s jobs. Oh the fun I would have. I could possibly change the mood of the whole board. I will make plans in anticipation of this new appointment so I can hit the ground running when the call comes down from the man.

Look out Fonzie there will be no rest for the wicked.

    fixed, ;)

Oh god, I vote, JOHN CANDY MOD 2010!!!!!!!!!!

  2. We profile around here. Sort fo like people that have been signed up for a long time, with very few posts and little activity. I'm not trying to chase anybody off, I just think that people need to be active, and get an idea of what most around here think of certain things. We don't dislike Hardleys, just the majority of people that ride them that aren't real riders, and they only pu hundreds of miles on them, compared to thousands for most around here.

    +1 to that.

I've only met a few harley riders that were really cool dudes.

but then again, at the time I was riding vintage bikes I had restored, so naturally my 1976 Honda CB550 was a conversation piece, lol.

My R6......not so much, I just get dirty looks from cagers, even when im doing under the speed limit.

There are some true harley riders out there, the old school guys.

Honestly, I will say the most hardcore riders are the BMW guys, I see those dudes in November and December with electric gear on riding. Well, as long as there isnt alot of ice on the roads. Its crazy, I would never dream of riding my R6 below 40*

  3. You tell me where u want to meet and I'll be there I will be taking 90/271/71 so if you want to meet up just let me know where is good for you. I plan on leaving Conneaut about 7am

hmm, could meet off of 71 somewhere, I live right by I90, but 480 is close too, that would be how im getting to 71.

How about caribou coffee right off of 71 and bagley road?

  4. The bmw looks pretty solid, it'll just be interesting to see how the big 4 japanese respond in the next few years....

I hope yamaha keeps refining that crossplane big bang motor in the R1, I say that is a cool concept.

  5. If you really want to meet people before the Coshocton ride why plan it for a day that allot of people that will be at the Coshocton ride already have plans?

The Brian Kinney benefit ride is that day at noon you can attend that if you want to meet people as there will likely be a huge showing of OR members there.

I completely forgot about that, Iknew I saw it somewhere.

I zone out too much at work....lol

I think I'll head down there then!!

Changing date to Sunday, june 20th

I'll change this date to saturday

  6. Just seeing if anyone would be interested at meeting up at Dine 254 In sheffield, right next to the QS&L there.

    Sunday, June 20th

about 1:00PM, but we can also discuss that.

Address: 4950 Transportation Dr, Sheffield Vlg, OH

Food is good there, its kind of a 60s style diner, moderately priced

Just wanted to meet a few before next weeks coshocton ride

  7. I'm down for Friday but will only be the Kawi if I get everything up to snuff and the title comes finally

I heard the same from another friend who had both, he said exactly the same thing so I'm pleased to hear another opinion on this. I was pretty much set on riding the Honda anyway since I am way more familiar with it and my comfort level and limits on it

From the way this ride sounds, don't think we'll be hitting speeds or riding that aggressive to need a damper

heck, my 6 doesnt have one! lol

  8. I really want to make this to learn from others and get tips and make myself a better rider. That said I can almost guarantee I'll be at the back of the pack. I just realized this is a Sunday and not a Saturday so it makes it a little bit more difficult for me to make but so long as I have the Honda still this sounds like a great opportunity.

don't you have the ZX6R to ride as well?

  9. I was in Cinci for 5 years for school, a year in Indianapolis for job #1 and now I currently live in a townhouse in Broadview Hts, fits the budget great to blow more on toys and other crap :D

I've been thinking about townhouses eventually. As long as it has a two car garage for the bikes...lol My car can sit outside for all I care :coffee:

  10. When I plan a ride I usually post the route that way if someone shows up and finds the groups pace too slow for their liking they can go out ahead and wait for us at the next turn or go out on their own. This route is simple, from the meeting spot 83 south to Coshocton, no route posting needed. Once our group gets there others will be leading with their own route. These are people I have ridden with in the past and I trust them to lead as I would.

The ride down is straight and boring except for the last 20 miles. The pace will be at about 70 MPH except for small towns posted at speeds other than 55 MPH. When I pass a car I will go faster than 70 MPH to give riders behind me space to safely fall in line in front of the car being passed. The last 20 miles will be at the pace you should expect to see in the front group on the Coshocton ride. You can read this as speeds might increase to more than 70 MPH in the curves and slow back down to 70 MPH between them. Most people fall in line behind someone who is just slightly faster than them so no racing is happening, its single file in the curves. I will make a head count before we leave and recount at all stops unless our group is over ten riders then we will be using a sweep rider. If you have to leave the ride make sure someone else in the group is told so we don't go looking for you.

    bold, is that backwards? lol!

hmm, what kind of curves? long sweepers?

I think I'm thinking too much about that part, :D

  11. I bought my first house at 21. Had a brand new gsxr, and a nice new suv. What your story?LOL

Well! I am a part time college student, took my first full time job in my field last september, I'm in IT. I've put myself through college, I have ZERO student loan debt, only owe money on my car, as i paid cash for the bike.

Since people seem so adamant as to why I don't have my own house, I pose a few questions...

Did you buy the house on your own credit?

What year did you buy the house(nowadays, banks are tighter with money)?

How much did you pay for it?

    Where is the house located?

Were you engaged/married at the time?

how much other debt did you have, and were you in college at the time as well?

I'm not trying to be a dick to anyone, but y'know, everyones financial situation is different, I never had the luxury of my parents being able to help me out at all.

i'll sympathize with tachboy to a certain extent....at 23 I lived with the rents. But that was for 9 months after I had moved back to Cleveland for the first time in 6 years. It was mainly to pay off my car (killed 10k off a 17k loan) and find a suitable place to move

Where did you end up moving to?

  12. If I may add, if you have to question showing up after all that has been hashed out about the type of ride this is, stay home. If you are not mentally prepared for a ride that will take some skill, and will provide you a great opportunity to learn more, you're either too good of a rider, or too scared.

If my comments are out of line, tell me and I'll change/delete.

I'd say the term "skill" is relative among riders.

To some people skill is being able to negotiate a turn decently with some confidence, others its able to go through the turns at a more brisk pace, with decent lean angle and being able to hold your line. I guess I have a big definition for the word "skill" I see it as being able to drag a knee at will, get great drives out of the corners, and being able to communicate very well with their machine.

It depends on perspective it seems.

  13. Yeah there light but when its buried in mud I was happy that I was riding with someone else who could help me pick the damn thing up. I wasnt going to fast maybe like 30mph and Im also happy I did have all my gear on or im sure I would have ended up more beat up than I did.

    You're welcome! :D

but seriously after going through that turn, feeling my rear tire squrim, stand the bike up and look in the mirror to see your blue thing on the ground, I yelled in my helmet, "HOLY F***" and stopped.

I'm just glad you were able to ride it back.
