  1. Have you used the motion sensing feature? Is it literal motion (of the camera) detection? Or does it look for motion in the field of view like a CCTV camera/DVR?

  2. Cool. Good to know.

Bought this one. Looks like they've come down considerably in price. I could get 4 for the price of the one you linked to above.

And if i get in a wreck, I'm pretty sure ill be willing to take the card out and put it in a pc for detail:). More frequent playback (directly from the camera) would be more for seeing if anyone's messing w my car when I'm not around, seeing people's reaction to my rolling political billboard, etc.

As far as battery going dead, I thought about it but I guess I assumed it didn't draw much power. I leave my GPS/radar detector plugged in 24/7

  3. It plugs into the 12v outlet / cig lighter. The outlet turns on and off with the ignition.

If your 12v outlet is always-on then go to the auto parts store and buy a spare outlet and wire it up under the dash to an ignition-switched source.

if I just leave it on 24/7 (to get any possible attempts at vehicle vandalism) will that cause any issues?

Does the unit linked to have composite out? (that could be hooked to my in dash DVD player for playback)

Can videos be played back from camera? Or do you have to transfer to a PC?

  4. Pointing a laser at a person is illegal in California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Other state laws protect law officers, firemen, aircraft, and game animals.

Ohio only prohibits aiming at aircraft.

It's getting pretty wide spread, so expect changes in the future.

    For what reason? Seems silly

  5. 12 hours on the road today , on and off. Seemed ok at first. But after the first 3 hours or so and I was doing the cheek shift (left, left, left right left) that I did w my OEM seat. Hopefully that gets better w time.

On the plus side I didn't have any of the slip n slide that I've heard others complain of

As I've read elsewhere, the fit is not great. Rubs against tank more than I'd like. Holes for seat bolts are too small. Will need drilled out. Don't line up exactly either. Like the looks but for $300 I expect it to fit perfect. This weeks ride will tell on comfort if it gets broken in

  7. This isn't very encouraging. Ordered one a few weeks ago. Spent close to $300. It arrived today. Will be using it on my trip to DC tomorrow. We'll see I guess.

  8. Joe (my bud in D.C.) said they continually shut down local traffic cams during the event, so not surprised some think there was such a low turnout.

He provided a film clip of a local newsman who went out into the throngs and admitted on air there were far more bikers there than the media was telling the public about. He also went into how much nicer these bikers were, nicer than he had ever imagined.

I watched a few clips of long lines of bikes riding into D.C. on the interstates and while the majority were HD's, I was very surprised at how many Cruisers and Sportbikes were intermingled in the groups. Was was the most impressive was how well everyone seemed to be getting along. Not the typical 'you ride that???' crap. It seemed to be a day where bikers were bikers all there for one cause. I thought that was pretty cool.......

    Shhh. Don't tell Magley.

Per the founder, estimates are 1.2 million showed.

It was VERY cool. Wouldn't miss it for anything. You going?

  9. Try this one Super turn out every year.

A Memorial Day Demonstration in Washington DC

Rolling Thunder is an annual Memorial Day demonstration where thousands of motorcycles ride through Washington, DC seeking to improve veteran benefits and resolve POW/MIA issues. This is a wonderful patriotic event that expands and gets larger and larger each year.

heard about this ride this year, but a few days too late. Would have loved to have gone.

  10. I watched the live feed from the traffic cameras.

Did your traffic cameras catch these pictures? I did, (most) with my own camera, when I was there. And apparently someone who lives there w a first hand experience concurs. But go ahead and believe the MSM. and your traffic cameras that were reportedly shut down for periods during this event.

  11. So what's the difference between a Corbin seat (memory foam type if I read correctly) and a gel seat? Which is better for long distance rides and avoiding numbness and having to "switch cheeks" every hour or so?
