  1. So i layed down my 2007 GSXR 750 on its left side. i had to replace the water pump and a few other minor parts. I have everything back together and I cant seem to get my engine temperature down. I believe i did the right steps for flushing and refilling the coolant (but i could be wrong). Ive bled all the air out via the bleeder screw on the water pump. Bike only has 2800 miles on it. There is anti-freeze in all of the coolant tubes so maybe its cycling??? I think my thermostat might be stuck closed causing the anti-freeze not to get cooled down which would then causing my engine to over heat. My radiator cap is not cracked or loose. Could this be due to a faulty thermo? and if the thermostat turns out to be good what else could the issue be??? Also side question: if the long screw that hold the gas tank on the bike is stripped, what tool do i need to get it off???
  2. I fail at life? because I'm having a heating issue with my bike? damn let me go burn my college degrees and sell my house i just dont know what to do with myself... can someone who has a technical knowledge of bike repairs please help me with my tstat issue???
  3. haha seems you still have no clue how to fix it...
  4. i checked the hoses on the radiator, the upper hose is hot and the lower one is cooler.
  5. hey thanks for the people who gave me a legit answer I'm going to try what you all have suggested and i'll to keep you updated; for the people who gave me shit for just asking a question, you probably had no idea what to do about the issue in the first place. Thanks everyone!
  6. i wasnt riding it, it was idling when i checked the engine temp, i just wanted to see if it would keep climbing, when it hit 250 i decided to just shut it off.
  7. it just keeps climbing, i let it run and i watched it slowly go up to 250 degree then i just shut it off.
  8. I just replaced my water pump on my 07 gsxr 750 and bled the anti-freeze but the engine temp continues to get really hot until I turn it off. I saw on a diff website that someone had the same issue and he took the water pump off and back on again and everything worked fine... any ideas?
  9. Long story short, i dropped my bike on the right side (wasn't riding it my girlfriend was sitting on it and let it fall on its right side, wasnt a hard fall but i picked the bike up and checked to make sure everything works, tried to start the bike and it tries to turn over a couple times then it cuts off. I've been fixing a couple things on the bike but last time i check the bike started fine, the water pump is uninstalled due to leakage and there is no oil in the engine (I drained it after i took the water pump off) but thats no reason for it not to start, any ideas? Im dont think its the battery.
  10. let me know if anyone has one for sale
  11. it sucks that such a small crack is going to cost me so much $$$$, also that guy lives in another state thats too far to travel.
  12. i need a quote for that first picture, can you weld that piece to the frame so i can screw my clutch petal back in place?
  13. and if i do replace the crank case, if i find the part myself how much is the labor?

  15. I need some very light welding done on my 2007 GSX-R 750. There is a very small crack where the water pump connects to the engine and where the clutch rod screws into the frame of the bike, In these photo's Ive removed the water pump. I need a quote from a shop who can get the job done.
  16. get it straight buddy i was riding it for three hours BEFORE it went down, and it was in perfect condition before it went down.
  17. okay everyone thanks for all your advice my insurance would be $400 A MONTH for full coverage, i used to have a 600whp car that got me into some trouble so thats why my insurance for a bike is so much
  18. thats exactly what i was thinking, weld the crack then machine the inside smooth so its surface level matches the rest of the inside tube. I almost 99% sure that would work, replacing the water pump shouldnt be an issue i already have it out.
  19. fuck it, Im just going to try welding and a new water pump.
  20. damn...im pretty sure its the only crack, ill get the fairings off and take a closer look, any advice on take these fairings off, anything i should watch for, steps?
  21. i just need someone to weld and i think i can fix the rest. Anyone weld?
