Ok, I am slowly going more towards the Chevy Side... Finding a bunch of complete 350s for $150-$400. But I am also looking into the LS based motors. From what I am reading the LQ4 and LQ9 are compatible with LS1 parts. Am I correct?

 

What other truck motors have motors that are compatible with the LS1

Looking for 2 Bolt Main Caps for my 302.

I have the 302 Block now its a 1974. I will be stroking it to be a 347. Then putting some good heads on it, Im looking at AFRs for that. Then a good Intake and Carb set up. And seeing where we are NA for a while. I will be putting some money into a good fuel system, trans and then suspension on what ever car it goes into. If I get the bug for more power Ill prob start building a good aftemarket SBF block that can handle the Boost or Nitrous.

Oh, I am an idiot. For some reason I read it as his insurance would be $2000 a year. If its only $700 more a year that is about what I paid when I was his age on my Del Sol

for the $50 for block, $450 in machine work, hes $500 in and doesn't even have any top end or bottom end parts. again, i woulda got a 347 assembled shortblock to start with.

 

Where can I get built 347, forged interanls... that will be able to handle into the 500-HP range? I have found several 347 Crate Motors for $3,500-$13,500 range. To have my Block Cleaned, Bored, Honed and forged 347 stroker kit put in Ill have less than $2000 there.

 

I know I still will have heads, cam, manifold, carb to go + the bits and pieces.

 

But I am fine with having $5000 in this motor and it being what I want it to do.

 

I could go buy a whole car for $5k and still have to do most of the said work any way.

But what I do like is Jimmy Johns, I ordered a Sub at 12:03 and it made its way here to me at my desk at work by 12:10 and they did not mess it up!
