On the insurance coverage - most companies will cover you if you're on the track at a school ( track day) but will not if it's a race.... however there are a few companies that will not cover if you're on a track that holds races - so check the policy carefully. I carry coverage just in case it gets totaled!!
Just a note on insurance at the track.... most companies will cover if it's a track day ( school ) but not if it's a race... but there are a few insurance companies that do not cover if 'on a track that is used for racing'. 65. Got my Wera license last year, and coach at M-O... Duc 749 race bike and Duc 1098 for the street. There is no such thing as 'to old for a sport bike' - it's all attitude ( oh and that smelly stuff to make your knees feel better)
Try Enchanted Shoe Repair ( ok, the name is a little weird) just off Sawmill Rd near 161. They've done repair work on my race leathers for several years and have always done great work.
