see thats the thing, you think that im planning to ride super fast and stupid, but i dont. Yea thats basically the reason i want a different bike, is because im getting bored with the kat. i would like track days but as we all know the kat isnt exactly good for it. lol as far as college goes, i dont care about spelling and stuff, im going for engineering so as long as you can spell your name they dont really care.

i know i dont need a big bike to ride fast, but a CBR600 will do over 150mph stock. And i bet more than 1/2 that track could beat me on a 1k, im looking to get into it, just not with a Katana. As far as top speed i would like a bike that i dont really find it on a CSBA ride keeping up. As far as back tracking there is a road way out in the middle of no-where, a place where a car might go by once every hour, and we have people block the roads off and if a bike is coming stop cars, but we wait if a car is going thru. We dont do what most idiots do and do 140mph around 270 columbus. BTW i ride everyday, rain or shine. I do the speed limit 90% of the time, unless im in a group thats moving faster, so i dont ride like a jackass.

yea i know thats why im getting a new bike is because this one doesnt scare me at all. and yea i work at walmart and go to college full time, so i don really get much free money.

i never did 140, the kat basically doesnt really go past 130(not much difference i know), but country roads that are closed off.

TaRR: you can ride a bike and are pretty good at it too, so dont say your not fast. Also i dont fly on the highway, i have tested what my bike can do before, but ill bet that almost half of the people on this forum have done that. What exactly is your definition of a "real rider"? BTW: i never said i do 140 on the highway, so dont quote me for something i didnt say.

i normally ride at the speed limit, but when i go on the CSBA rides i do around 80-90mph. and i want to go to the track and the katana is anything but a track bike its the slowest thing out there.

well i guess its not completely straight up, im throwing ,my PS3 in that i have well over $1000 into. I did however realize that yes the bike layed down becaue of everything thats been broken (mirriors are different, passanger peg, and rotor).Buy as long as it still runs good and rides smooth it should still be a good bike, granite im gonna look it over before i do anything, right? Honestly i dont really got any cash stashed to buy another bike and banks wont even look at me cus i dont have credit(always paid in cash).

have you checked the spark plugs? but it honestly sounds like the carbs, does it pop at all when slowing down, because they may be really out of tune.

good buy, where did you find it? as in like craigslist, down the street, ebay?

the guy said that the rotor wobbled a little and he just took it off. im guessing he warped it, something prolly just got stuck up and in since its only one rotor.

ive topped the katana at 135 more than once, and if the bike is geared for a higher top speed then you will be doing the speed limit in a lower rpm. my katana runs about 5500rpm doing 65mph in 6th gear and it redlines at 11000rpm. i feel like im running the crap out of it just riding the freeway. plus i just like speed.

yea ive rode my friends 06 CBR600 (not hard) and my other friends CBR 954 doing wheelies. Though the 954 may be a bit more than needed. just want something that can do more than 140mph. I know i need a new bike because i can pop the clutch and throw that kat sideways and am not the slightest bit afraid of it.

idont know about better riding passangers, the girlfriend loves the katana and almost never complains, but she got on the back of danballa's busa and she said it was so uncomfortable.

im not choosing between the katana and the TL but im thinking about trading the katana i have for it. The video doesnt really help it just shows the sound. I dont know how fast it is, gixxie750 about what would you compare it too and whats the top speed? the highest i seen on youtube is like 140mph and ive gotten close to that on the katana. What do you mean they arent the best on highway trips? thats a reason i dislike the katana is because im running at high rpms in 6th gear.

Im just wondering really if there is much power difference, it seems like it would be about as fast as a cbr or gsxr 600 from the internet. My katana is in good shape with 18k miles newer tires, powdercoated rims, ect nice looking. The TL has 15k miles, but he told me the only things that are wrong is windscreen is cracked, missing a front rotor, different mirriors(still 2 on), and passanger peg is bent. he already put an aftermarket exhaust on so that will save me money, i just need to get a powercommander.

i dont got that much money, hell hes trading me straight up for the katana.

ok im thinking about getting a TL1000s and just want other peoples thoughts of this type of bike are. I will be trading my katana for it, and am wondering on the comfort, upkeep, power, ect is like on them. I have read the reviews on it already, but i want personal feedback on it. PS: this is not the TL1000R its the TL1000S

mmmm, i should consider it considering i already work 3rd. Im more in engineering, but i have been trained in machine tools, i know the manuel lathe and a mill. If they need help with autocad or inventor software im a pro at that...
