  1. The problem with this is I would love to run my GrandNational on the track even knowing it's the wrong car for it.  Gotta wonder if I can get enough body roll to see the driveshaft while still having all 4 tires on the ground.  I would think by the end of the first lap, maybe half way through lap 2 my brakes would be gone as well. 😁

    Before I ******

Proper safe gun training is not a hoop and not a burden.

Not to diminish what you are saying and I do agree with your statement of many people needing proper training, but so far most of the gun owners that I know who have not gotten their CCW up to this point the reasoning wasn't only about the requirement to take a training class.  Their reason for not getting the CCW was that they also didn't want to get fingerprinted and have their info in a state database or to deal with the hassle of all the steps and expenses required.  In their minds it is an undue burden.

The other things you need to think of for the average person that is on the fence about first time concealed carry is the cost and hassle involved in the process.  $67 to apply, $10 for fingerprints, cost for your 2x2 passport photos ($17 from CVS) Scheduling and taking said training classes from around $75 or more.  The fact that most places to apply and get your actual card from the state are Mon-Fri daytime only, and that the average working person would need to take off time from work to complete the process.  The cash outlay doesn't seem like a huge amount of money for people that already have 5-10-20 guns but a first time owner will take that $170ish dollars for a CCW into account when they are trying to justify the process and time put into getting the CCW vs buying the equivalent amount of ammo.

I know that sounds awfully conspiracy theorist of me but for some people those items are a legit concern that was holding them back.  Me personally, I have had my CCW for the entire 14 years so far that I have lived in OH and will continue to keep it current so I can carry in other states so please don't think I am talking about myself in the third person :)  Just wanted to throw this out there because like anything in life the complexity of this topic is much more in depth than just getting hung up on a single portion of it.

also way to fund a terrorist state that has a shit track record of human rights.

😒Way to bring unneeded politics into a conversation.  I guess I should throw out my Russian guns because of their terrible politics, my German guns because Nazi's, my British guns because of the colonial atrocities they have committed over the past thousand + years.  Chinese guns, nope.  You better throw away that USA made hi-point because of our own human rights violations for the past 245 years.  If you can't separate the quality of a product made by a corporation from the politics of the country it's located in I don't know what to tell ya.

@serpentracer,  You'll have to let us know how it shoots.  I haven't had a chance to see one in person yet but at that price it's an interesting find.  Good luck with it and a big thumbs up on the deal you got.

  4. It took a couple weeks to complete everything but this is the latest updates on my bike.  I added some bar end mirrors and crash bars to the handlebars and than I got rid of the RH side case and put a clean cover on so you can watch the clutch go around.  No dry clutch rattle but at least you can still see it.  :)

Why would anyone make a holster out of such an inferior old fashioned material like leather? This isn't the 1900s anymore.

I bought a military style leather shoulder holster for my 1911.  Those old guns have feelings and they get grumpy when you don't store them in crusty old leather.  😁

  6. I kinda feel bad for anyone that has recently gotten into guns/shooting in the past 2-5 years or so.  I reload for pretty much everything in my collection but the 22lr/22magnum and haven't paid retail in over a decade.  I can't imagine how much worst it's going to get in the next few years as the bans continue to roll in from the government.

Picked up my first handgun. Walther PPQ M2.

Took a CCW class and really enjoyed the way this one shot. Looked up reviews online of this one and many others. The PPQ always had great reviews and considered one of the best triggers out of the box. This will be a home defense/fun gun, probably will never carry it. I'll get something smaller later if i decide to carry.

Now my only issue is i can't find 9mm ammo anywhere local (Westside of Cleveland). Called every place around and all out. Don't really want to pay $15 shipping for a few boxes of $40 ammo.

I had a chance to shoot an older PPQ and the Match version of the same gun a few years ago.  I thought they were pretty nice guns.  Hopefully you will find the same when ammo is available again.  I haven't been to a gun store in probably 6 months but the stuff I have seen online is too friggin expensive and borderline price gouging to even consider buying anything right now.  I hope things settle down after the change of power in the oval office and prices start to fall but if Biden continues to saber rattle about bans it may be a long 4 years till we get someone more 2A friendly in office and ammo comes back in stock.

If you don't want people to buy it all before you can, why bother posting about it and just sounding like a jerk? :yuno:
