  1. I can't verify either as I only was behind you for brief moment on the gap, and maybe Cherohala as well.  But I'm talking about from the gap store back to Fontana.  Plenty of time to setup for those corners.

The goal when moving is to move with the bike and not upset the chassis.   Just takes practice to get in sync with the bike.  Start slow and work on moving side to side.  I recommend you move side to side even when riding at modest pace as practice.  You have to get comfy moving around.  Having said that, you have to also get comfy with lean angles, and hanging off reduces the lean angle.  So you have to work on both, then combine them.

Foot position and moving around keeps the blood flowing and the pressure off.

    You can do it....

All good advice, Its hard to really get any practice in though when 99% of the roads up here are strait :/

  2. Sounds to me like you are pushing down to hard on your feet. And proper fitting boots don't allow your feet to slide forward or backwards. Sideways either. I chased you from the gap to Fontana (I was on the scooter) and I didn't see you move around hardly at all. I recommend that the balls of your feet are up on the pegs and move them down to shift or to use rear brake (if you are so Inclined) then back up on balls of feet. Proper foot position is the one where you can most easily lift your body up. I've never ridden a 675 but I doubt it is buzzy enough to cause numbness if you do as above. You don't need to press hard on the pegs. You may want to weight the outside peg if you are having trouble getting front end to turn under throttle but I wouldn't worry about this now.

I know for a fact I did not move very much on the gap, cherohala is where I was really moving. I am still getting comfortable moving around on the bike and the gap is too busy for me to really do that right now. Long sweeping turns where I can figure out how the bike reacts to me shifting weight is where I am really comfortable which is another reason I need to start track days.

  3.

Before you freak out at this list realize that the most common causes are also the most likely such as vitamin deficiencies which are very common with our well balanced national diet of cheeseburgers and fries.

That is why I am thinking B12 is the issue. I had colitis and the only thing that worked to keep it under control was surgery to basically remove half my intestine which is where I read B12 is absorbed.

Also, my left eye twitches like MJ said, some days like crazy and I tend to be really tired in the middle of the day which correlates with vitamin issues.

  4. are your boots too small?  I've never had that problem on the twisties. I have had my feet go numb on the highway because I don't move my legs for an hour and a half at a time.

No, they fit just about perfect, but the riding position on my bike makes my feet slide to the front of my shoe.

I have that problem too... They aren't too small but maybe the sole is too hard... I was going to try some insoles.

    How long did it last?

  5. I just flash my brake light manually when I see a car approaching from the rear. Pretty easy.

    This^^

Also, I have been lane splitting stopped traffic lately, which has gotten me many horn honks and finger gestures, but if the drivers would take their head out of their asses they would realize they are getting home faster because of me. This is just more reason to lane split.

  6. On a side note, did you all know that Amsoil's synthetic motorcycle oil doesn't meet the minimum specs for the Daytona? Yeah, me neither. Glad I checked the bottles though before I poured it in. On a mission to find Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 10W-40 tomorrow to finish this oil change. Doh.

Hmm, did not know the 675 had such a picky engine. Glad Castrol was running a "buy 4 quarts of moto oil, get a free Triumph Racing shirt" deal or I would have gotten the Amsoil lol

  7. This i

I take full credit for the sparking of interest in Daytonas, since half of the ones on this forum have been owned by me or have parts from my bikes on them. :)

This is true, you sparked his interest by proxy since my bike used to be yours haha

  8. So I ended up getting the Cortech from Nathan at RD and its a great little bag. I got it mostly for keeping small things on longer trips like a water bottle, zip ties, a few tools and what not and this should do the job. I tested it out on the way home from work and it holds a pint of Ben and Jerry's with ease :D

Also, my iPhone 5 fits about perfect in the clear map window and works with my gloves pretty well. Have not tried that out in the sun yet though. The pic sucks because I had to use my GoPro to take the picture haha.
